Mitch Blatt's top IDP waiver wire adds and defensive streamers for Week 7 of the 2023 fantasy football season. These LB, DL, and DB have matchups worth exploiting.
Vikings linebacker Jordan Hicks led Week 6 in fantasy IDP scoring in what was a down week.
Hicks made 10 tackles, a fumble recovery, an interception, and scored a touchdown. He has scored double-digit fantasy points in each of the past five games. He'd be a strong addition if he's on your league's waiver wire, but he's not likely to be.

IDP Waiver Wire Adds for Shallow Leagues
Darious Williams, DB, JAX
Darious Williams remains the top cornerback addition who is still available in many IDP leagues. He has been targeted with passes 38 times, the seventh-most in the NFL, which gives him a lot of opportunity. On those passes, he has made six pass defenses and three interceptions.
Julius Brents, CB, IND
A second-round rookie, Julius Brents has stepped into a starting role in Indianapolis' underwhelming cornerback room. He's been a surprise. Sleeper only projected him for 65 fantasy points this season, but he has already scored 57 in just Weeks 3 through 6.
This past week, Brents made his first career interception and added seven combined tackles against the Jacksonville Jaguars. In his first three starts, he made 17 tackles, forced a fumble, and recovered the fumble.
Andre Cisco, DB, JAX
The third-year safety has been on fire since he became a starter last season. Since 2022, Andre Cisco has made six interceptions, which is tied for the fourth-most. He has also made 73 solo tackles, the third-most of any defensive player with six or more interceptions since 2022.
With a forced fumble, a sack, and an interception returned for a touchdown in that time frame, he's an all-around impact player.
Lavonte David, LB, TB
Lavonte David has been playing 100% of the Bucs' defensive snaps in each of the past four games. He's a boom-bust type. Twice, he scored over 20 RotoBaller IDP points. Once, he scored 13.8. But in his other two games, he scored fewer than four.
His boom weeks came in weeks in which the Tampa Bay offense struggled and left the defense on the field for long stretches. He played 80 snaps in Week 3 and 70 in Week 6, and he made over 10 tackles and a sack in each game.
IDP Waiver Wire Adds for Deep Leagues
Blake Cashman, LB, HOU
Blake Cashman only played 149 snaps in 2022, but now, in his second year as a Texan, he has surpassed that total in just four games. Cashman took over as a starting inside linebacker in Week 3 and proceeded to make 31 tackles in four games.
Last week was his biggest yet, as he made 15 tackles. He is primarily an option in tackle-heavy leagues, as he has not made many impact plays and did not do so in college, either.
Geno Stone, S, BAL
Geno Stone has been making plays even while playing limited snaps. He only played 23 snaps against the Titans in Week 6, but he made an interception, his third of the year.
From Week 1 to Week 4, he played at least 60 snaps per game and made 21 tackles in those games. Then he only made two tackles per game in the past two games, in which he played a total of 43 snaps.
But Stone could be back to playing over 60 snaps in Week 7 if Marcus Williams misses time. Williams left the field in the second half of Week 6 with a hamstring injury, so monitor that situation.
Kendall Fuller, CB, WAS
Kendall Fuller is the Commanders' every-snap CB1, and he has been the 26th-highest-scoring IDP player in the IDP Invitational in the past four weeks. While first-round rookie Emmanuel Forbes attracted a lot of attention in the preseason, Fuller and Benjamin St-Juste have ended up being the two starting cornerbacks for the Commanders. Forbes hasn't seen the field much because he has been beaten badly. But if Forbes eventually does step up and earn more playing time, St-Juste will be the most likely to lose out. Fuller has been playing ahead of him, as was projected in preseason.
Cam Taylor-Britt, CB, CIN
A second-year cornerback, Cam Taylor-Britt looked shaky at times, but he has now made interceptions in each of the past two games and he forced a fumble the week before. He returned his interceptions for a touchdown in Week 5.
Looking back at his collegiate stats, we can see that ball skills are something real he has displayed for many years. He made five interceptions in his four years at Nebraska and returned his interceptions for an average of 30.0 yards and one touchdown. Two interceptions in 2020 were enough to put him in the top 10 for the Big Ten conference. His return ability was also evident as a punt returner, as he landed at No. 3 in the conference for punt return yards in 2020. He has a lot of value in leagues that reward points for return yards.
Steven Nelson, CB, HOU
Through the first five weeks of the season, Steven Nelson was the seventh-highest PFF-graded cornerback. The nine-year veteran is in his second season as a Texan, and he's making an impact on the field and in the box score. For each of the past two games, Nelson has made five solo tackles and he has made three interceptions, including one last week against the Saints. Moreover, he has broken up an attempted pass in five of the six games this season.
He is completely off the IDP radar. He is only owned in 0% of all My Fantasy League-hosted leagues. Pick him up before others find out about him!
Justin Reid, S, KC
Justin Reid leads the Chiefs in coverage snaps, and he has made five or more combined tackles in four of his six games. Against the Broncos, he went off, with an interception and a sack, too. He made a forced fumble the week before against the Vikings. He won't make an impact play every game, but he gets enough playing time that he is worth rostering in deep leagues that start multiple safeties.
Justin Madubuike, DT, BAL
Ravens defensive tackle Justin Madubuike has been having a career season in his fourth year. He has been playing about 40 snaps per game, which puts him on pace to set a new career high in total snaps, and he is the leading Ravens pass rusher, with one more pass-rush snap than DE Jadeveon Clowney.
Madubuike, a 2020 third-round pick, has made half a sack or more in each of the past three games, including two sacks last week against the Titans. Now with 4.5 sacks on the year, he is one away from his career-high. His PFF grade has been low, at 53.8 through the first five weeks. However, his pressure rate is up. You can play him as a hot hand at defensive tackle.
