When Is Jaxson Dart Coming Back - Fantasy Football Injury Return Update for Week 12 (2025)

Jaxson Dart - Fantasy Football Rankings, Rookie QB Sleepers

When is Jaxson Dart coming back? Will Jaxson Dart play again this season? Read about Jaxson Dart's return date and injury updates for 2025 as of Week 12.

New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart (concussion) was injured in his team's Week 10 loss to the Chicago Bears. The Giants were fully in control of the game before he got hurt.

Of course, after QB Russell Wilson took over, they immediately completely collapsed, doing absolutely nothing on offense and handing the Bears a free win.

Dart has had numerous injury scares to this point. He's been evaluated four times for concussions, but this was the only one he was diagnosed with. So when will he be able to return? And what's his fantasy football outlook moving forward?

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Jaxson Dart Injury Update for Fantasy Football

Dart was placed into concussion protocol and was held out for the team's Week 11 game. QB Jameis Winston started in his place. Typically, we don't see players miss longer than one week with concussions, though it depends on the severity. Young players are typically able to bounce back better.

Last season, we saw Arizona Cardinals wideout Marvin Harrison Jr. (appendicitis) return from a concussion without missing any games -- he needed just one week to recover, apparently. And Dart wasn't placed on injured reserve, so there's not much reason to think he'll miss a lot more time.

One of Dart's visits to the blue medical tent was the subject of a lot of controversy, as multiple non-medical staff were seemingly allowed to interfere with his evaluation, including running back Cam Skattebo (ankle) and the now-fired head coach Brian Daboll. Daboll is gone now, though, and it doesn't seem like new head coach Mike Kafka will bungle this.

Recent reporting suggests that Dart is expected to clear the concussion protocol and return to play in Week 12. That's what we'll go with here. That's good news because even in the worst-case scenario, he would return in Week 13. It's unlikely the team will hold him out until after their Week 14 bye.

Jaxson Dart Fantasy Football Outlook

I had Dart ranked as my QB1 in the 2025 NFL Draft class. I saw him as the superior prospect, by far, to every other signal-caller that was drafted, back in a time when the larger NFL community seemed to think that both Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders should be drafted over him.

I effusively praised Dart's ability to command an offense, make the right reads, and have a strong mental understanding of the game that would allow him to one day be a quality NFL starter. But even I didn't think he would be this good.

There's a nice film breakdown showing a lot of the intangibles he possesses. It's hard to qualify just how good he's been, but the production has shown up on the stat sheet well. He's easily been a top-5 fantasy quarterback since he took over the starting job, and that's likely to continue throughout the season.

There's a possibility that Kafka tries to limit Dart's running, or at least coaches him to slide and avoid contact as much as he can. Dart has at times launched himself head-first into defenders, and that's simply not a sustainable style of play. He's taken far too many hits early in his career.

Still, he has underrated athleticism and is fantastic at reading defenses. His mobility allows him to reposition himself in the pocket to make better throws and escape pressure. And he has rare rushing upside that is incredibly difficult to find at the QB position.

When he returns, you're starting him in every game he plays. He's proven he can be an elite fantasy option even while missing his No. 1 receiver, Malik Nabers (knee), and No. 1 running back, Cam Skattebo (ankle) due to injuries. He's been rolling with WRs Darius Slayton (hamstring) and Wan'Dale Robinson has his top options.

It really doesn't seem to matter in the long run. If you have Dart, you start him. And if you drafted him in dynasty leagues, you struck gold.
