Frank Ammirante's five fantasy football bold predictions for Week 3 of the 2025 NFL season. Expert predictions for Chris Olave, Ashton Jeanty, Tetairoa McMIllan, and more.
We're onto Week 3 of the 2025 NFL season, so it's a good time to use what we learned in the first couple of weeks to help find our bold predictions. With that said, we have to balance this new information while trying not to overreact to a small sample.
My Week 2 bold predictions didn't hit, but George Pickens, Jahmyr Gibbs, and Tyler Warren still had good games.
Let's get back on track with Week 3 bold predictions on Matthew Stafford, Ashton Jeanty, Tetairoa McMillan, Chris Olave, and Michael Pittman Jr.

Matthew Stafford Throws for 275+ Yards and 2+ Touchdowns
no window too small for Matthew Stafford sheeesh pic.twitter.com/xcwy1VumYM

Matthew Stafford is totally locked in right now, completing 71% of his passes while averaging 8.8 yards per attempt. It's clear that having a clinical route runner who can beat man coverage on the perimeter in Davante Adams is paying major dividends for this passing game.
Up next is a tough matchup against one of the best defenses in the NFL in the Eagles. So why am I suggesting that Stafford will have a big game? It's all about game script.
I don't expect Kyren Williams to have much success on the ground against this tough front seven. The best path for the Rams to move the ball is through the air.
It's a projected close game with the Rams as 3.5-point underdogs. You're likely going to see Stafford forced to air it out in this one.
We saw the veteran quarterback put up strong numbers against this defense in the playoffs, where he threw for 324 yards and two touchdowns in the NFC Divisional Round.
Sometimes, the combination of a strong passing game with a favorable game script can overcome a tough matchup. That's what I'm betting will be the case here.
Just picture the Rams down by four at the end of the game, with Stafford going into hurry-up mode and adding to his passing yards total.
With that in mind, I'm above consensus on Stafford for this week.
Ashton Jeanty Rushes for 100+ Yards
Ashton Jeanty's statline will look mundane (30 carries, 81 yards) but he was so impressive at getting the most out of every run and creating pic.twitter.com/M9Eru6YShW

Ashton Jeanty has gotten off to a slow start to his NFL career, failing to eclipse 50 rushing yards in each of his first two games. It's been tough sledding for the former Boise State standout, as he's currently averaging only 2.7 yards per carry.
However, with only 11 carries last week, look for the Raiders to make it more of a point of emphasis to get Jeanty the ball against the Commanders.
We've seen Jeanty publicly talk about how he wants more touches this week. It feels like a squeaky wheel game for the sixth overall pick. In other words, look for the coaches to get him more involved this time around.
While the Commanders have kept the Giants and Packers running games in check, this is a game that Marcus Mariota is likely to start. That means we could see it tougher for them to sustain drives on offense, resulting in more possessions for the Raiders.
Jeanty has the elusiveness to evade tacklers and the contact balance to generate yards after contact. Be patient with him, as the best is yet to come.
Given these circumstances, I'll take a shot on Jeanty to rush for 100+ yards for the first time in his NFL career.
Tetairoa McMillan Puts Up 100+ Receiving Yards

Tetairoa McMillan has been highly impressive for the Panthers, coming off a 100-yard game against the Cardinals last week.
This is an alpha number one wideout, who is currently putting up 19 targets so far this season.
Up next is an exploitable matchup against the Falcons, who are expected to be without top cornerback A.J. Terrell. Given McMillan's volume, there's a good chance that he can get loose downfield against this defense.
We saw fellow rookie Emeka Egbuka put up 67 yards and two touchdowns against this defense. Look for McMillan to similarly have a big game.
It also helps that this sets up as a game script where the Panthers are forced to air it out, since they're five-point home underdogs.
Given the lack of options besides McMillan with Hunter Renfrow and Xavier Legette, we can expect the rookie to get absolutely peppered with targets.
With this favorable spot, I'll boldly call McMillan to get 100+ yards for the second consecutive game. Don't be surprised if he finds the end zone as well.
Chris Olave Catches 8+ Passes
Chris Olave is a fantastic buy-low right now.
Week 1:
40.6% target share
44.7% air yard shareWeek 2:
37.7% target share
53.3% air yard shareAlpha WR1 volume in a fast-paced offense that will be playing from behind often.

Chris Olave hasn't had a big game just yet, combining for 108 yards in two games. But you have to love the volume that he's getting, racking up 23 targets in two games, including 13 catches.
While eight or more receptions feels like a longshot on the surface, it's really not that bold when you consider how often Olave has been targeted so far.
It also helps that first-year head coach Kellen Moore has the Saints playing at one of the fastest paces in the NFL. Uptempo offenses run more plays, giving Olave more opportunities to rack up receptions.
On top of that, we've seen Olave used more in the slot, which means that he can get easier targets in the short to intermediate passing game.
The Saints are going to be playing from behind often this season, including this week against the Seahawks, where they are seven-point underdogs.
With that in mind, we'll take a shot on Olave to haul in eight or more receptions. It's only a matter of time before Olave breaks out with a spike week. I'm betting that it happens against the Seahawks.
Michael Pittman Jr. Racks Up 8+ Receptions
Concerns over the Colts offense are overblown.
Tyler Warren is going to be a safety valve that will be massive for Daniel Jones or Anthony Richardson.
Michael Pittman Jr is healthier and Josh Downs is an emerging stud.
Jonathan Taylor is going to EAT.

Michael Pittman Jr. is looking fully healthy this season after playing through a lingering back injury last year. The veteran wideout has combined for 10 catches in his first two games this year, including six against the Dolphins.
The Colts offense is firing on all cylinders right now, putting up 30+ points in each of their two wins. Daniel Jones has been the biggest surprise of the first two games, completing 71% of his passes at 9.3 yards per attempt.
With how good Jones is playing, that's good news for Pittman's chances at getting eight or more catches.
Up next is an exploitable matchup against the Titans, who just allowed Puka Nacua (eight receptions) and Davante Adams (six receptions) to have big games.
Don't be surprised if Pittman gets it done as well, especially if the Titans are able to slow down this running game like they did against the Rams.
