RotoBaller's MLB power rankings for all 30 teams at the end of April. Where does each MLB team stand in our latest power rankings for the 2026 season?
Another week of MLB action is in the books, and the top of the league looks pretty clear. The Dodgers, Braves, and Yankees are clearly ahead of the pack, especially with a hot run from New York. The Padres and Cubs are right behind them, but so is pretty much all of the very competitive NL Central.
The bottom has some of the normal teams you'd expect, but what do we make of the Mets and Phillies? Their talent is undeniable, but the on-field results have been pitiful to say the least. Can the Astros find anyone to pitch effectively and get them out of the cellar of the AL West?
We'll help answer those questions in this week's rankings. Read on to find out where your favorite team ranks this week.

No. 30 - Chicago White Sox
The White Sox come in at the bottom again, but let's not overlook the weeks that Munetaka Murakami and Colson Montgomery had. Coming into Sunday, they'd combined for seven of Chicago's 13 homers over the last seven days.
That's at least providing excitement to an otherwise underwhelming team. Sox fans would also appreciate it if their hitters could do a little more at home, as the fun games always seem to happen on the road. That will at least provide more excitement in a developmental year on the South Side.
No. 29 - Colorado Rockies
The Rockies had a great chance to steal a series at Coors against the Padres, one of the better teams in the league so far, but a blown save in which they gave up five runs in the top of the ninth blew that opportunity.
Still, they're showing a bit more competency this season compared to seasons past. That's a major step for this fanbase as they hope for anything resembling competitiveness in the coming seasons.
No. 28 - Kansas City Royals
So maybe the Royals have a lot more issues than they anticipated coming into this season. It wasn't long ago they looked like a dark horse in the AL, but now they're looking more like bottom-feeders.
There's been improvement offensively over the last few games, and that may help them get back on track, but the pitching still has to find a way to lock down opponents. Their lefty trio of Kris Bubic, Cole Ragans, and Noah Cameron all have ERAs above 4.00, which they very clearly can't have if they want to compete this season.
No. 27 - Los Angeles Angels
If you haven't been paying attention, one of the best pitchers in the league is currently Jose Soriano of the Angels. Past seasons have shown potential, but he's really putting it together early, posting a 0.24 ERA in six starts prior to Tuesday's matchup against the White Sox.
That's been needed because Los Angeles has been struggling otherwise. Similar to the White Sox, they've been crushing it on the road. That's at least until this past series with Kansas City, in which the offense looked rather anemic.
More heroics from Mike Trout would be appreciated, but they're going to need more than just Trout if they want to stay competitive all season.
No. 26 - Washington Nationals
Nationals games almost always look to be exciting this season. That's because runs are plentiful, whether they're coming off their bats or from their pitching staff. If you're a gambler, it won't surprise you to hear that they are the second-best team to back for overs behind only the Astros.
So let's highlight the production of James Wood and CJ Abrams, who have combined for 42 RBI this season. Let's not focus on the offseason additions of Zack Littell and Miles Mikolas, who are allowing runs at a worrisome pace. Just know it's going to be loud whenever you turn the Nats on.
No. 25 - San Francisco Giants
That poor start may be behind them now, but there's still a bit of work the Giants need to do before they can feel like they'll compete again. The good news is they were able to get series wins against the Nationals and Dodgers, but the offense still is slacking.
Prior to Sunday's game against the Marlins, they had scored six or more runs just three times, generally scoring three runs or fewer. It's a good sign to still be able to get wins, but a very lackluster offense usually doesn't succeed much in modern baseball.
No. 24 - Boston Red Sox
What a chaotic week at Fenway. After getting swept by the Yankees, they lost 10-3 to the Orioles, only to put up 17 against Baltimore on Saturday. Shortly after that, Boston fired Alex Cora and a number of other members of the coaching staff.
Players came out Sunday saying they didn't understand the decision and would look to get further explanation from them soon. Regardless of whether or not they understand the move, they simply won't win games unless the offense and its 85 wRC+ improve.
It's wild in Boston, and it's only entertaining if you're not rooting for the BoSox. Oh, is that chuckling coming from the Bronx that I hear?
No. 23 - Minnesota Twins
The hot start the Twins got off to looks to have cooled off significantly. Prior to Sunday's series finale against the Rays, they'd lost eight of their last nine games. They've gone from an 11-7 record to a 12-15 record in that span.
The offense has been a bit lackluster in that span, hitting for just an 84 wRC+ over the last seven days. That won't add up to many wins. While Minnesota isn't exactly aiming to compete this season, its slim chances get that much slimmer when the offense goes dormant.
No. 22 - Athletics
The A's have a chance to surprise some teams in the AL West this season. They're currently in the lead in the AL West with a 15-13 record after beating the Rangers on Sunday. But they still have a bit to do before the league fully buys into them as a threat.

— Athletics (@Athletics) April 26, 2026
The offense has power, and we know that, but there seems to be a bit more desired when you look at the numbers. They may be in a spot for positive regression, though, as they've hit for a .342 wOBA and a .353 xwOBA over the last 14 days.
The pitching seems a bit more sporadic, and we'd love to see a bit more consistency from the starters as a whole. If that can happen, and the offense recognizes that positive regression, we may have a fun wild card threat here in Sacramento.
No. 21 - Houston Astros
If you are able to throw a baseball, then you may be eligible to start for the Houston Astros in the near future. If it sounds like a cheesy infomercial, it's because Houston is that desperate for starting pitching right now. Their rotation has a 5.97 ERA on the season and is a huge reason they're as far down in the standings as they are.
Key injuries to Hunter Brown and Cristian Javier have played a huge part in the lack of stabilization in the rotation. Brown began throwing as part of his rehab program this past Tuesday, but he's not expected to be back until late May at the earliest.
Is that going to be too late for Houston? Their offense will keep them in games, but if they don't find effective pitching, then it won't matter how magnificent their offense is.
No. 20 - New York Mets
Fans in Queens rejoiced as the Mets' 12-game losing streak was snapped on Wednesday. That coincided with Juan Soto's return to the lineup, a much-needed boost to an offense that had fallen into a funk.
But the joy was short-lived as Francisco Lindor hit the IL with a calf injury that's going to keep him from performing in any baseball-related activities until at least mid-May. The Mets aren't catching any breaks and desperately need to find a way to get on a winning streak.
No. 19 - Philadelphia Phillies
When one long losing streak in the NL East ends, another begins, or at least continues. The Phillies' 10-game losing streak was snapped on Saturday night as Zack Wheeler returned to the mound and helped Philadelphia beat the Braves.
That's a solid start to the season for Wheeler and a much-needed boost for a team that really needs some positive streaks to start. They're not in as dire need as the Mets, simply because there aren't many injuries here now, but they haven't exactly done anything this season besides dig themselves into a sizable hole.
No. 18 - Toronto Blue Jays
The Blue Jays are just another team in our run of traditional playoff contenders here that have really struggled out of the gate. Toronto does look like it may be correcting things, though, as they've now won five of their last seven games.
The offense has been picking it up during the streak, but the pitching has still been a bit questionable. If they can get the pitching locked down, they'll get back on the right track. A week playing the Red Sox and Twins may just help speed that process up.
No. 17 - Miami Marlins
The Marlins looked to be back on the right track after going through a rough 1-7 stretch. But after winning four of five games, they've dropped three straight prior to Tuesday's matchup against the Dodgers.
They still find themselves in second in the NL East, but that's with a 13-16 record, so there's still work to do in the wild card race. With Atlanta's return to prominence, that's likely where they'll need to aim for. Xavier Edwards is doing all he can at the plate, hitting for a 156 wRC+ driven by a .340 batting average.
If Miami can get some more productivity from the rest of its lineup, then it may be able to make a run at the wild card.
No. 16 - Baltimore Orioles
If not for a series win against the Royals this week, then things could look quite a bit more bleak for the Orioles. Over the last 14 days, their pitching staff has pitched to a 5.07 ERA. The offense has been decent, but eventually that's going to lead to more losses.
After a series of losses to the struggling Red Sox over the weekend, they may need to start wondering how to turn things around. They've got a tough week coming up with the Astros and Yankees on deck.
No. 15 - St. Louis Cardinals
The Cardinals have no doubt surpassed expectations this season, at least this early on. They find themselves with a 16-13 record and holding strong in the tough NL Central.
The weak link may be St. Louis' pitching staff, which has a 4.77 ERA on the season. The offense has been fine, but eventually this high of an ERA is going to bite you. With just a 6.72 K/9, it's easy to see that more strikeouts from this staff would greatly improve their chances of lowering that ERA.
No. 14 - Arizona Diamondbacks
Things were looking solid in Arizona just a week ago, but struggles against the White Sox and Padres have caused them to lose four of their last five games. A trip to Mexico City is nice, but not if it doesn't mean wins.
A key struggle has been on the mound, where they'd given up six or more runs in four of their last five games prior to Sunday's matchup against San Diego in Mexico City. That needs to improve to help give the offense more chances. It had been hot, but a cold offense and a cold pitching staff is never a good mix.
No. 13 - Texas Rangers
Currently second in the AL West, Texas doesn't quite feel like a threat to the division yet. That's even though the lineup has started to hit more effectively. There's just something that feels kind of off with this team, especially after losing a series to the A's.
It might just be the balance of hitting and pitching. When one shows up, the other disappears. They have to find a way to get both firing at the same time. Then they'll become a true threat in the AL West, even though they're competing here early in the season.
No. 12 - Tampa Bay Rays
Another early-season surprise, the Rays are looking like a team that may be able to compete for the AL East this season. Given their history, that shouldn't be a surprise, but they're once again doing it with a cast of players that most casual fans may not recognize.

— Tampa Bay Rays (@RaysBaseball) April 28, 2026
Starting pitching has been their best strength so far, posting a 3.62 ERA on the season. Nick Martinez and Drew Rasmussen are leading the way for the starters, both having a sub-3.00 ERA.
Tampa's at it again. If they can keep it up, then they'll be a strong candidate for an AL Wild Card spot at the very least.
No. 11 - Cleveland Guardians
So they've certainly cooled down after their hot start, but they're still right there in the AL Central alongside the Tigers. That was mostly thanks to some eight-run performances this week, which kept happening on alternate days. Fans may have liked those runs a little more spread out to help with the two-run and shutout performances, but ultimately nothing to complain about.
Jose Ramirez has been a big producer for Cleveland's offense, as he traditionally is, but Daniel Schneemann has been crushing it for a 255 wRC+ over the last 14 days. The Guardians have quite a bit of intrigue to them; it's just about getting more consistent.
No. 10 - Milwaukee Brewers
No one in Milwaukee is stressing out much about their recent slide, but it's never a good thing when you lose five of seven. Especially since the NL Central is so competitive this season, or at least it is for now.
Milwaukee has a trio of contributors to the offense on the IL as well, not helping the cause for an offense that, at times, can lack power. Jackson Chourio, Christian Yelich, and Andrew Vaughn are all dealing with ailments, and none are expected to be back until mid-May at the earliest.
The Brewers know what it takes to get to the postseason, but it's going to be a tougher test for them early on.
No. 9 - Detroit Tigers
It was a slow start for the Tigers, but they're now starting to look like a threat again, especially if the numbers have anything to say about it. They're now hitting for a 109 wRC+, sixth in the league, while pitching to a 3.95 ERA, 10th in the league.

— Detroit Tigers (@tigers) April 26, 2026
Solid numbers to post, but you still have to play the games. They're 3-4 in their last seven games, showing some variance from the stats since a statistical top-5 team shouldn't be experiencing many slides like this.
But Detroit should turn it around. They and Cleveland should fight for the AL Central title throughout the season, with the Tigers looking for revenge after last season's collapse.
No. 8 - Seattle Mariners
The record doesn't say top 10, but, as with Detroit, the stats say the Mariners are clearly a top-10 team. They're hitting for a 104 wRC, tied for seventh overall, while pitching to a 3.73 ERA, ranking seventh as well.
So the wins will eventually come, and they should be making a real solid run at the AL West shortly. After sweeping the Cardinals this weekend, they've now won four in a row and six of their last eight.
That's a great way to get things back on the right track. If a few other things bounce their way, then watch out.
No. 7 - Cincinnati Reds
I have to give credit where credit is due. The last couple of weeks, I've been pointing out Cincinnati as an obvious candidate for negative regression based on a weak offense and a negative run differential. Well, the run differential is now positive, and they're winners in nine of their last 12 games.
Sal Stewart and Elly De La Cruz have been the main contributors to the Reds' offense over the last 14 days, but it's been Nathaniel Lowe who may be the most impactful. He's hit for a 206 wRC+ over the last two weeks and has hit four homers in his last three games, including a walkoff homer on Friday night.
THIS. TEAM. DOES. NOT. QUIT. #ATOBTTR pic.twitter.com/eIXuFAKIsW
— Cincinnati Reds (@Reds) April 25, 2026
The offense still needs to get its season-long numbers back to league average or better, but there are a lot of good things happening for the Reds right now that are going to make them a threat in the NL this season.
No. 6 - Pittsburgh Pirates
Another NL Central competitor that hasn't traditionally been competitive, the Pirates come in as a threat to win the division. Similar to the Reds, the offense has been a bit lackluster at times with a wRC+ that's below league average.
But where they differ is in pitching. The staff as a whole has pitched to a 3.38 ERA, fourth best in the league. Good luck scoring on them. That type of pitching can provide any offense with some leniency.
When the offense really puts it together alongside this pitching staff, then Pittsburgh will be a scary NL team to face as their aim is to make the playoffs for the first time since 2015.
No. 5 - Chicago Cubs
Here's yet another NL Central team as the division is littered with competitive teams this season. The Cubs have been making the most noise after winning 10 straight games. They came crashing down to earth over the weekend thanks to the Dodgers, but they're starting to find themselves.
The pitching hasn't been spectacular over this stretch, but the offense has been obliterating everything in its way. Over the last 14 days, they've hit for an insane 150 wRC+. That makes a long winning streak no surprise at all.
The pitching staff has a few things to figure out, but the Cubs are rolling regardless.
No. 4 - San Diego Padres
We're more than a full month into the season, and Mason Miller has, as of Monday, finally given up a run. The Padres' closer had been on an insane run, but don't let the slip-up on Monday fool you. He's going to force the question about whether or not the NL Cy Young should go to a reliever this year.
That's obviously as long as he keeps it up, but as of now, the Padres know they've got the game locked down whenever he steps on the mound. The offense needs to get it moving, though, as they only just recently broke the 100 mark for their wRC+, just a league-average mark assisted by Mexico City.
Racking up the wins regardless of the offense is a good sign for San Diego, but if they want to be in the race for the NL West crown at the end of the season, then the bats need to find a way to be above league average.
No. 3 - New York Yankees
Remember the chaos and doom that surrounded this fanbase after the Rays swept them two weeks ago? All the Yankees have done since then is go 11-3 while averaging 6.1 runs per game.
If that's not impressive enough, the pitching staff is throwing to a 3.41 ERA over the last 14 days. It's a dynamite recipe for wins, and the Yankees are more than happy to ride with it.
They'll head to Arlington this week before coming back to host the Orioles in a four-game set as they look to keep growing their lead in the AL East.
No. 2- Atlanta Braves
We knew that the Braves would bounce back on offense. There should be no surprises at their 123 wRC+ with the talent up and down the lineup. But it's been the pitching staff that may be doing the most impressive work so far, especially considering the injuries they're fighting.
Chris Sale on the Sunday Night stage:
6 IP, 1 ER, 6 Ks 😤 pic.twitter.com/jjI0tmcbKL
— MLB (@MLB) April 13, 2026
The staff has thrown to a 3.13 ERA on the season, which is especially solid with both Spencer Strider and Spencer Schwellenbach on the IL. Their reliability has been one of the biggest reasons they own the league's second-best run differential.
But should we worry about negative regression? That 3.13 ERA is paired with a 4.00 xFIP. They may give up more runs in the future, but if Strider returns quickly enough, then he'll help stave off some of that regression. The Braves look primed to be a threat to represent the NL in this year's World Series.
No. 1 - Los Angeles Dodgers
Once again, we've got the Dodgers in our top spot. After taking the series from the Cubs this weekend, they've got the league's best run differential. With the league's best wRC+ and the third-best ERA, that should be no surprise.
It's also time we wonder if the two best pitchers in the league reside in the NL West. We touched on Miller's outstanding season in the Padres slide, but how about Shohei Ohtani? The bat hasn't produced as many long balls as we expect, but he's pitching to a 0.38 ERA. The strikeout rate is down, but he's clearly been incredibly effective on the mound.
When he's pitching that well, it doesn't take much else from this talented roster to rack up the wins. LA's our top team yet again as they look for the three-peat.
