Killian Hayes is worth considering as a fantasy basketball waiver wire pickup heading into Week 14 of the 2022-23 NBA season.
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 33% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Now that we're past the halfway mark, we can safely say it: the renaissance of Killian Hayes has been consummated. Yes, not having Cade Cunningham as a rival for the starting point guard role helps. Not playing for a high-stakes team helps. Having a rookie as your main partner in crime helps somehow, too.
But you still gotta do what you gotta do and Hayes is clearly doing it. Hayes is and will stay the starting PG of the Pistons' ROS. He's started all of the last 30 (!) games and in the six matches he's played in January, he's averaged 32 MPG. Not bad, I'd say.
The line can't get much better over the season, but it's actually improved of late after closing the 2022 calendar year a bit on the low. In January, Hayes is nearly averaging a 15-2-8-2 per-game line. Yes, that's 15 points, eight dimes, and two steals per game. Per freaking game!
Hayes is super efficient on a per-minute basis, too, putting up 1.07 FP/min on the fantasy scoreboard this month while the league average sits at a much lower 0.90. Just imagine still finding this man available on two of every three ESPN leagues out there...
