Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 14 (2024-25): January 27 - February 2

Lonzo Ball - Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire, NBA DFS

Dan's fantasy basketball waiver wire pickups for Week 14 of the 2024-25 NBA season. Consider these players as fantasy basketball adds, streamers, and stashes.

We flip the calendar to February this week and edge closer to both the All-Star break and the NBA trade deadline. Some of the moves you can make in the next few weeks could greatly impact your team's ability to compete for a fantasy championship in March or April!

Most leagues have a weekly moves cap, and some have season-long caps. Always check your league settings to plan how many moves you want to make each week, and if you have a season-long cap, save some of those moves for the playoffs!

I am a big advocate of being aggressive on the waiver wire! If your league has daily lineups, you should use that to your advantage and maximize your weekly games in H2H formats. I'll give you my top adds for standard leagues (20-40% rostered) and deeper formats (less than 20% rostered) every week and the schedule breakdown for all 30 teams. Let's see who we should be eyeing to add to our teams in Week 14!

Standard Leagues - Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire for Week 14

Percent owned numbers for Yahoo! "Standard Leagues" refer to 10- or 12-team leagues.

Nikola Jovic - PF/C (32% rostered)

Despite his continued strong play, Jovic is still on this list because he's been dropped in some leagues. Yes, rookie Kel'el Ware has emerged in Miami, but Jovic is still getting minutes and has an entirely different skill set that Miami needs, as he can stretch the defense to the three-point line and is a skilled passer.

Jovic went 17-6-4 with three treys, two steals, and two blocks on 71% shooting last night - outplaying Ware and reminding everyone what he can do. Until we know how the Jimmy Butler saga ends in Miami, Jovic should be rostered in standard leagues, and I predict he will finish the season as a top-100 player.

Toumani Camara - SF/PF (28% rostered)

I featured Camara last week and admittedly have a bit of a man crush on the Portland wing. He's such a quiet contributor but he's producing fantasy gold with efficient scoring and rebounding while he's adding impactful defensive stats.

I think we are witnessing a major breakout here and that Portland will continue to feature Camara the rest of the way. He doesn't hurt your team in any category and is the perfect glue guy for 9-cat. If he's still under 40% rostered by next week, my mind will be blown! Add him in all formats!

Guerschon Yabusele - PF/C (24% rostered)

The big Frenchman had a big week for the Sixers while filling in for Joel Embiid. He dropped 22 points against Denver in a loss but had a 12-point, 13-rebound game in an upset of Cleveland on Friday night.

With Embiid's status still very much undetermined and Andre Drummond constantly nursing injuries, Yabusele is the starting center by default, and he offers some threes and assists you won't often find with conventional centers, even if he's fairly limited in terms of his blocks and steals.

Luke Kennard - SG (20% rostered)

Kennard's game log looks like a roller coaster, but we just had two peak performances in a row this week as the former Duke guard hit seven treys in two consecutive games, scoring 23 points against Charlotte and adding 27 more against New Orleans.

You might say, "But he just had a four-point game against Utah in 20 minutes." At some point, I think we have to be willing to eat those random bad games, as the good simply outnumber them over the last month. When you look at the median production, we are getting some incredibly efficient three-point shooting and some solid assists from Kennard with very few turnovers.

I'm going to hold him until we see him relegated to under 20 minutes for multiple games in a row. Memphis just can't stay healthy!

Lonzo Ball - PG (20% rostered)

Lonzo got the start last night in Philadelphia as Coby White was out, and while he didn't light up the stat sheet, it was good to see him play 24 minutes alongside the starting unit and log his seventh straight game with 20+ minutes.

The Bulls do not have any back-to-backs this week, so we shouldn't be worried about Ball resting. Chicago will need him on the court with White out for at least another week or action.

Deeper Leagues - Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire for Week 14

Percent owned numbers for Yahoo! "Deeper Leagues" refer to 14-team leagues or more.

Duncan Robinson - SG/SF (18% rostered)

How many boring shooters can I recommend in one article? Sorry, but Robinson is deserving of your consideration for what he has done over his last four games (17.5 points and 4.3 made threes on 49% shooting).

Miami needs offense, and Robinson helps provide crucial shooting on the wing. He's one of the best three-point shooters in the game, alongside guys like Kennard and Grayson Allen. When he's getting this many minutes and this many shots up, he has my attention.

Ty Jerome - PG/SG (13% rostered)

I'm not sure how much the average NBA fan appreciates Ty Jerome, but as a Cavs fan, I love this dude, and before this season, I had no idea he had this type of game.

Yes, he turned back into a pumpkin in his next game (6-4-3 on 12% shooting), but Jerome has a real role on this team, especially when Caris LeVert is out.

Harrison Barnes - SF/PF (13% rostered)

The minute that you pick up Barnes he will surely revert to his old boring self, right? Maybe, but what does it hurt to try to ride the hot streak a little longer?

Barnes has 20 and 25 points in his last two games, and while he offers no defensive stats at this stage of his career, he also comes with near turnovers and pretty solid percentages. It's a very low-risk proposition to add him this week.

Bruce Brown - SG/SF (12% rostered)

So now we have entered the veteran journeyman stage of the article as I just got done telling you to pick up 90-year-old Barnes and now have to convince you to add Bruce Brown.

Say what you want about Brown, the guy has always found a way to make his teams better. He has an unconventional game but has been thriving on the Raptors' second unit since getting healthy. As long as he's seeing 25 minutes a night, he's able to contribute some usable numbers.

Derrick Jones Jr. - SF/PF (12% rostered)

I know - it's getting gross down here, and when I first started writing this week's column, I didn't plan on having Barnes, Brown, and DJJ as options. But all three are viable pickups in deeper formats based on their recent play.

Jones Jr. has done this before - flash a few good games and then fade back into oblivion, and perhaps he does it again. But like the others, he's a very low-risk addition who won't hurt you either. Don't drop anyone good for him, but if you need a fill-in, he's worth a look.

Jaylen Wells - SF (11% rostered)

I have to give Wells a lot of credit, I didn't see him carving out such a consistent role for Memphis, especially with how much they love to play a deep rotation and split the minutes of their role players. But Wells has managed to hang on to a 25-30 minute role for the Grizzlies and is offering enough production in points, threes, and percentages that he's a solid add in deeper formats.

The Single Digit Crowd (Super Deep Leagues)

Vit Krejci - SG/SF (9% rostered)

Isaiah Joe - PG/SG (9% rostered)

Aaron Wiggins - SG/SF (9% rostered)

Moses Moody - SG/SF (7% rostered)

Gary Trent Jr. - PG/SG/SF (6% rostered)

Chris Boucher - PF/C (6% rostered)

Jordan Hawkins - SG (5% rostered)

Larry Nance Jr. - C (4% rostered)
