MLB Prospect Debuts: Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pickups and Rookie Stashes (Week 11)

Roman Anthony - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Prospects

Mike's fantasy baseball prospect stashes, sleepers, and rookie waiver wire pickups for Week 11 of 2025 -- recent MLB prospect debuts and potential call-ups to monitor.

It's happened: Roman Anthony got the call Monday and made his debut for the Boston Red Sox. He is the number one prospect in all of baseball and looks to be here for the foreseeable future. But he is not the only notable call-up this week. The Chicago White Sox also promoted catcher Kyle Teel, a key piece acquired in the Garrett Crochet trade this past winter.

It's an exciting time to watch these guys debut. But one important thing to remember is that player growth is never linear. There will be ups and downs as they adjust to the game's highest level. Keep that in mind as these guys come to The Show.

These players offer intriguing upside for the fantasy manager willing to show patience with rostering a young player, as opposed to rostering a boring veteran who may not help your team at all. Let's take a look at a few players who intrigue fantasy players.

Fantasy Baseball Hitter Prospects To Target

Roman Anthony, OF, Boston Red Sox

Status: Called Up

2025 stats: 265 PA, .288/.423/.491, 45 R, 10 HRs, 29 RBI, 3 SBs, 19.2 BB%, 21.1. K%, 146 wRC+

Anthony got the call on Monday afternoon after losing outfielder Wilyer Abreu to the IL with an oblique strain. It feels like we have been waiting on Anthony to get to the major leagues forever, yet he is 21 years old. He is considered the top prospect in all of baseball.

So, what do we expect from Anthony? It's always hard to know, but expect a blend of power and speed with a good walk rate as well. The Red Sox had him bat fifth and play right field in his debut. We should see every day at-bats for Anthony, as they haven't called him up to have him sit on the bench. He is a must-add in every league.

See his minor league record below; there is nothing left to prove there.

Kyle Teel, C, Chicago White Sox

Status: Called Up

2025 stats: 10 PA, .375/.500/.375, 1 R, o HR, 0 RBI, 0 SB, 20% BB%, 20% K%, 165 wRC+

The Chicago White Sox called up Teel this past week and immediately inserted him behind the plate and in the sixth spot in their order. He also played one game as the designated hitter. Teel is widely known for his ability to get on base and take walks; he walked 30 times in 213 Triple-A plate appearances this season.

Teel's minor league walk rate this year was 14.1%. He was also hitting .295 with eight home runs, 30 RBI, and seven stolen bases.

Some people may be worried about Teel being in a time share behind home plate with fellow rookie Edgar Quero, but the Sox have at-bats for both by using the designated hitter slot. Teel has also taken reps at first base this season. Teel is the catcher of the future for the White Sox and should have an everyday role in the starting nine.

Ryan Ritter, SS, Colorado Rockies

Status: Called Up

2025 Stats: 13 PA, .250/.308/.417, 0 R, 0 HR, 1 RBI, 0 SB, 0% BB%, 38.5% K%, 89 wRC+

Ritter should get plenty of runway in Colorado on a bad baseball team without much to play for this season. He put up exciting numbers in Triple-A this season with a .305 batting average, 44 runs, 16 home runs, 45 RBI, and three stolen bases. Ritter is a fourth-round pick from the 2022 draft who had a 20/20 season in 2023.

He's an acrobatic shortstop with power, but has struggled thus far with strikeouts at the big league level. Scouts felt he would struggle to hit major league breaking balls and sliders.

With Ezequiel Tovar on the IL for a strained oblique, Ritter should get plenty of run with the Rockies this month. They do have veteran Orlando Arcia on their bench, but the right move is to play Ritter and see if they have something there in him.

Jacob Melton, OF, Houston Astros

Status: Called Up

2025 stats: 32 PA, .150/.227/.150, 2 R, 0 HR, 0 RBI, 2 SB, 9.1% BB%, 36.4% K%, 12 wRC+

Melton has played in five of the last six games for Houston, but the results have not been there yet. He's batting ninth and playing left field thus far, even though he has played center field in the minor leagues. His calling card is speed. He has seasons of 30, 41, and 46 stolen bases in the minor leagues, but he also has seasons of 18 and 23 home runs as well.

Melton was considered by most to be the top player in the Houston system.

Injuries to Yordan Alvarez, Chas McCormick, and Zach Dezenzo open a playing time opportunity for Melton. He will need to cut down his strikeout rate if he hopes to stick in the major leagues for a while. I am intrigued by Melton's bat speed measurement thus far, as shown below.

Otto Kemp, 1B/3B, Philadelphia Phillies

Status: Called Up

2025 stats: 1 PA, .300/.364/..300, 1 R, 0 HR, 0 RBI, 0 SB, 9.1% BB%, 27.3% K%, 94 wRC+

Kemp was recalled last week due to the placement of superstar Bryce Harper on the IL with wrist inflammation. Kemo brings a mix of some pop with speed as well. Currently, he is slotted eighth in the batting order. Kemp was hitting .313 with 14 home runs, 49 runs scored, 55 RBI, and 11 stolen bases in 269 Triple-A plate appearances.

Manager Rob Thomson said that Kemp would get most of the time at third base with Alec Bohm shifting over to first base in the interim. Interestingly, with how little production the Phillies have gotten from their outfield platoons, it is possible that Kemp could get some time in the outfield if he hits.

Fantasy Baseball Pitcher Prospects To Target

Andrew Painter SP, Philadelphia Phillies

Level: Triple-A

2025 Stats: 32 1/3 IP, 3.90 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, 26.8% K%, 8.7% BB%, 4.46 FIP

Manager Rob Thomson quelled some of the speculation last week when he suggested that Painter would not make his major league debut until after the All-Star Break. The top prospect in the Philadelphia system, Painter started the season on delay but has made nine starts for the Triple-A squad. He has two wins in 32 innings pitched, with a 3.90 ERA, a 1.30 WHIP, and 37 strikeouts.

What's more important is that his fastball is back, sitting at 98-100 mph, and his breaking stuff looks to be back as well. Look for Painter to be in this rotation sooner rather than later, especially given the struggles the Phillies have experienced with Jesus Luzardo.

Jacob Misiorowski, SP, Milwaukee Brewers

Level: Triple-A

2025 Stats: 63 1/3 IP, 2.13 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, 31.6% K%, 12.3% BB%, 3.39 FIP

Even as the Milwaukee Brewers' rotation has stabilized this season, many folks are calling for the likes of Misiorowski and Logan Henderson to be on the major league roster. Misiorowski has continued to be impressive, with four wins in 12 starts this year, with terrific ratios (2.13 ERA, 1.09 WHIP) and tremendous strikeout ability.

There has been wide speculation about his future major league role, with some scouts suggesting he can be a top-of-the-rotation starter, and others suggesting his high-octane stuff would play best out of the bullpen. He has started and relieved in the minor leagues thus far. Misiorowski is a name to know for the season's second half.
