Recent Update

3/2:Orlando Arcia went 1-for-3 in spring training action on Thursday, and the shortstop will look to make the leap from prospect to contributor in 2017. Arcia struggled in his 201 at-bats last year, hitting just .219/.273/.358. While he may never enter the offensive echelon of Carlos Correa, Kyle Seager or Francisco Lindor, he definitely has an opportunity to be a second-tier hitter. He had a .282/.339/.404 slash line in his minor league career, and he can become that type of hitter with the Brewers as well. He also has 30-stolen base potential, and his glove should keep in the lineup on a consistent basis. Don't expect a top-five shortstop out of Arcia, but he can be a fringe top-10 player at the position.--Gurminder Singh - RotoBaller

  • @Haudricourt: Arcia hits a liner that caroms off Lorenzen’s side or back and into CF for a hit. He is being checked.
  • @Haudricourt: For those wondering, Arcia’s 42-game errorless streak tied for second longest for #Brewers SS. Mark Loretta went 63 games from 2000-’01.
  • @Haudricourt: Arcia’s first error since last Sept. 6 leads to three runs as Schebler follows with opposite-field HR. Cuts #Brewers lead to 6-4.
  • @Haudricourt: Aguilar taps back to Cecil and Arcia advances to second.
  • @Haudricourt: Orlando Arcia leads off #Brewers eighth with single to center. Jesus Aguilar to pinch hit.
  • @Haudricourt: Cards pitch out on 0-2 to Arcia but Broxton is not going.
  • @Todd_Rosiak: Brewers get two on in the sixth against familiar face Jonathan Broxton, but Arcia flies out to end the threat. Remains 6-2.
  • @Todd_Rosiak: Manny Piña (single) and Orlando Arcia (double) combine for a run to make it 6-2 here in the fourth. Nick Franklin hitting for Peralta.
  • @Todd_Rosiak: After Orlando Arcia is called out on strikes, Wily Peralta dribbles a single up the middle and the Brewers grab a 1-0 lead.
  • @Todd_Rosiak: Kirk Nieuwenhuis draws a two-out walk, but Arcia strikes out. Drake out to start the eighth with the Brewers still trailing, 8-7.
  • @Todd_Rosiak: Orlando Arcia opens the fourth by homering just over the wall in RF. That’s his first of the season.
