EPL DFS Goalies
Jordan Pickford - DK $5K || FD $10
Opponent - vs. Aston Villa FC
The stars couldn't align any better for Jordan Pickford this weekend. In Per 90 metrics against, domestically this season, Everton is the second-worst in Shots, and they sit in the middle of the league in Goals. Meanwhile, in Per 90 metrics, Aston Villa is the ninth-worst in Shots and the worst in Goals.
In Pickford’s first three domestic starts, he has conceded three goals, made eight saves, and recorded one clean sheet. As the goalie with the second-best value and a prime matchup, his salary is worth the pay-up.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):
- Robin Roefs (DK $4K || FD $7) at Crystal Palace
- José Sá (DK $3.8K || FD $6) at Newcastle United
EPL DFS Forwards
Nick Woltemade - DK $8K || FD $18
Opponent - vs. Wolverhampton
Nick Woltemade, one of the prized Summer Transfer Window acquisitions, is expected to make his debut versus Wolverhampton. Das Wunderkind was sought out and bid on by numerous clubs, including Bayern Munich, but it was the Magpies that secured his services. In his one start for VfB Stuttgart this season, he created one chance and made one tackle. In 28 appearances for Stuttgart last season, he produced 12 goals, two assists, 49 shots, 37 chances created, six crosses, and 10 tackles.
Woltemade is a similar player to ex-Magpie Alexander Isak. He is a tall, lanky build with speed, physical presence, and the ability to dominate in the air. After three matches, Wolverhampton is the fifth-worst in Aerials Won. Furthermore, in Per 90 metrics against, they are the worst club in both Goals and Big Chances Created, the third-worst in Chances Created, the second-worst in In-the-Box Goals, and they have the fourth-worst Penalty Area Defense. Considering his salary and matchup relative to the other forward positions, Woltemade could be viewed as a ‘steal’ and will generate mass ownership in all formats.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):
- Antoine Semenyo (DK $9.6K || FD $22) vs. Brighton & Hove Albion
- Iliman Ndiaye (DK $7.2K || FD $20) vs. Aston Villa FC
EPL DFS Midfielders
Josh King - DK $3.5K || FD $12
Opponent - vs. Leeds United
Talking about steals…Josh King has made his return to relevance. After being buried on the depth chart at Fulham over the last few seasons, he has started all three matches this season. Not only has he started all three matches, but he is also a focal point of their attack! He has generated four shots, two chances created, four tackles, one interception, and one block.
Leeds United will not be a walk in the park, but they are the third-worst in both Goals Against Per 90 and In-the-Box Goals Against Per 90. With the plethora of big names on the slate and the high salaries that come with them, King’s low salary offers the financial flexibility managers are looking for, especially in ‘CASH’ contests this weekend, where he would hit value with little effort.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):
- Anthony Elanga (DK $9.2K || FD $16) vs. Wolverhampton
- Anton Stach (DK $5.4K || FD $17) at Fulham FC
EPL DFS Defenders
Defenders
Trai Hume - DK $4.8K || FD $10
Opponent - at Crystal Palace
Trai Hume may finally be running away with the majority role on set pieces. In the first three domestic starts for the wingback, he has produced two shots, two chances created, 15 crosses, six corners, eight tackles, three interceptions, and seven clearances. He is all over the pitch and produces in more ways than one. His offensive abilities may not be highlighted in this meeting with the Eagles as much as normal. However, his defensive capabilities will make up for it.
Crystal Palace in Per 90 metrics against are the fourth-worst in Shots and the second-worst in In-the-Box Goals. They are also the worst in the league against the cross, and it isn’t close. Even if Hume can generate a few crosses into the box, that’s already points from the cross and also potentially points from assisting a shot or even a goal if he gets lucky enough. With many looking at Daniel Muñoz or Kieran Trippier (DK $6.4K || FD $10), Hume could offer less ownership and less salary with the same floor and ceiling potential.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):
- Daniel Muñoz (DK $6.3K || FD $15) vs. Sunderland AFC
- Jack O’Brien (DK $3.4K || FD $9) vs. Aston Villa FC
Corner Takers
- AFC Bournemouth: Alex Scott/David Brooks/Marcus Tavernier
- Brighton & Hove Albion: Maxim De Cuyper/Yasin Ayari
- Crystal Palace: Daichi Kamada/Jean-Philippe Mateta
- Sunderland AFC: Trai Hume/Granit Xhaka
- Everton FC: Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall/James Garner
- Aston Villa FC: Matty Cash/Ian Maatsen
- Fulham FC: Sasa Lukic
- Leeds United: Anton Stach/Jack Harrison
- Newcastle United: Kieran Trippier/Sandro Tonali
- Wolverhampton: Jean-Ricner Bellegarde/Jhon Arias
