Derek Carr fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 4 (2024). Should you start or sit Derek Carr for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Start in 14+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: QB16
ANALYSIS: New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr turned into a pumpkin against the Philadelphia Eagles last week. He severely struggled in the loss, completing 56% of his pass attempts for 142 yards, an interception, and eight fantasy points. However, the veteran did have a solid passing touchdown to Chris Olave late in the game.

Carr isn’t an elite fantasy football quarterback but a solid option, especially for those in deeper or superflex leagues. He was outstanding over the first two weeks, averaging 221.5 passing yards, 2.5 touchdowns, and 21.6 fantasy points per game despite having only 39 total pass attempts. Fantasy players should expect the veteran to have a low-end QB1/high-end QB2 finish in Week 4 against the Atlanta Falcons.
The Falcons have surrendered 17.4 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this season, the 11th-most in the NFL. Furthermore, they have given up 1.5 touchdowns and 20.1 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks not named Justin Fields in 2024. While he won’t be a top-five quarterback this week, Carr is a solid starting option.
