CBB DFS: DraftKings Daily Fantasy College Basketball Picks - Today's Top Lineups (1/2/25)

Brooks Barnhizer - College Basketball Rankings, NCAA CBB DFS Lineup Picks - icon rotoballer

Today's DraftKings CBB DFS lineup picks for 1/2/25. Mike M's top daily fantasy college basketball sleepers to build winning NCAA DFS lineups on DraftKings.

Our start to 2025 keeps going strong tonight with a lot of (expanded) Big Ten (18) flavor. The night begins in Boca with Memphis facing Florida Atlantic. Northwestern heads to State College to start the Big Ten (18) festivities.

Next up is Purdue at the Barn to take on Minnesota. Rutgers is at Assembly Hall to face the Hoosiers. Maryland heads out to Seattle to take on the reeling Huskies. We end on the west coast with Illinois deep in the woods of Oregon to take on the Ducks.

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy college basketball lineup picks on DraftKings on 1/2/25, starting at 7 p.m. EST. I’ll give multiple player suggestions at guard and forward, aiming to highlight one option at the salary scale's high, middle, and lower levels. Good luck, RotoBallers.

Today's DraftKings Guards - CBB DFS Lineup Picks

Brooks Barnhizer, Northwestern ($10.4K)

That's three straight games over 50 DraftKings points for Barnhizer and he hasn't been under 34 in a game all season. He's matchup-proof with a strong cash floor and enough upside for GPP usage. Get different elsewhere. Barnhizer can carry your lineups.

Ja'Kobi Gillespie, Maryland ($7.3K)

The Belmont transfer notched his first collegiate double-double (he's a junior) against Syracuse just before Christmas and narrowly missed another against Maryland-Eastern Shore last week. His passing ability has been elite lately. When his shot is falling, Gillespie has a high ceiling. He has scored in double figures in 10 of 13 games this year.

Mike Mitchell, Minnesota ($5.4K)

Mitchell missed nearly a month with an ankle injury, but he has been a force for the Gophers lately. He has 40 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists over the last two games. Minnesota needs his scoring with Tyler Cochran out and Mitchell has delivered. He's not going back to the bench anytime soon.

Ty Berry, Northwestern ($4.3K)

Berry is one of the best bargains out there right now. He is not a consistent scorer, but Berry is Northwestern's best defender and is sneaky-good on the boards. He can break a slate if his shot is falling since Berry routinely plays 30+ minutes per game.

Also consider: Dylan Harper, Rutgers ($9.7K); Kasparas Jakucionis, Illinois ($9K); Kylan Boswell, Illinois ($6.9K); Myles Rice, Indiana ($6.1K); Zoom Diallo, Washington ($5.7K); Freddie Dilione V, Penn State ($5.1K); Selton Miguel, Maryland ($4.5K); Justin Mullins, Northwestern ($3.6K)

Today's DraftKings Forwards - CBB DFS Lineup Picks

Derik Queen, Maryland ($9.5K)

Queen didn't come with all of the hype that Cooper Flagg did, but he might be the more polished college player right now. Queen is a good finisher with underrated passing ability and insane athleticism.

He's a good shooter (yes, even from the free-throw line) and strong on the boards. The only thing that Queen doesn't excel at is rim protection, but he racks up enough points in other areas that we don't really notice.

Dawson Garcia, Minnesota ($8.2K)

Anyone who has watched Garcia over the last couple of seasons knows what he is capable of. This price is just silly. Garcia has at least 34 DraftKings points in five straight games. He is getting hot just in time for Big Ten (18) play (two of those games were conference games). He could be priced at least $1K more and I would still use him.

Tre Carroll, Florida Atlantic ($5.3K)

Carroll put up some big numbers in the loss to Michigan State nearly two weeks ago. That marked his fourth straight game with at least 27 DraftKings points. Carroll will have his hands full with Dain Dainja, but considering his last few outings, that's baked into the price. We should still see Carroll post at least 20 DraftKings points.

Luke Goode, Indiana ($3.9K)

Goode has seen more minutes lately due to strong play and Oumar Ballo missing the Winthrop game. If Ballo plays tonight, I might move off of Goode to Kwame Evans Jr. instead. Both are playing well off the bench right now and getting enough minutes to be a DFS asset.

Also consider: Julian Reese, Maryland ($8.8K); Tomislav Ivisic, Illinois ($8.4K); Great Osobor, Washington ($7.5K); Baba Miller, Florida Atlantic ($6.7K); Brandon Angel, Oregon ($5.2K); Parker Fox, Minnesota ($4.6K)
