The NFL offseason is in full swing with teams starting to participate in Organized Team Activities (OTAs). This time of year, players are in the “best shape of their lives” and making flashy highlight plays in practice that pop up all over social media.

The summer is where fantasy managers show that they are playing chess while many others are still playing checkers. Quiet fantasy performers from a year ago who are ready to take the next step are gliding under the radar at a discount price. Cam Ward - QB, Tennessee Titans

The former first overall pick was forced to play for a Titans team that was not ready to support a young quarterback. The Titans fired their head coach in Week 6 after starting the season 1-5, and the team didn't have a pass-catcher surpass 600 receiving yards.

This offseason, the Titans have assembled a team to support Cam Ward and put him in a position to succeed. The Titans started by hiring Brian Daboll as their offensive coordinator, who is widely regarded as a quarterback whisperer in the league.

Jaxson Dart was the QB1 in all of fantasy football from Week 4 to Week 10, posting 23.3 fantasy points per game with Daboll as his head coach. After Daboll was fired, Dart was the QB16 from Week 13 on, and his points per game dropped to 16.6.

Additionally, Daboll was obsessed with Ward as a prospect during the 2025 predraft process. Daboll and the Giants offered multiple first-round picks to receive the first overall pick to draft Ward.

After those offers were declined, Daboll went as far as trying to convince Titans GM Mike Borgonzi to draft a different player, according to Bobby Kownack from NFL Network and Todd McShay from The Ringer.

During free agency, the Titans signed Wan'Dale Robinson to a four-year, $78 million contract. Robinson recorded 92 catches for 1,014 yards and four touchdowns last season. This was Robinson’s first 1,000-yard season, and he had the ninth-most catches in the league.

Then, the Titans selected Carnell Tate fourth overall in the 2026 NFL Draft. Tate has already flashed exceptional ball skills and a large catch radius that will make him a potent downfield pass-catcher, according to ESPN Titans reporter Turron Davenport.

The duo has already started to create a connection and has flashed explosive playmaking ability in OTA practices.

KeepTradeCut estimates Ward’s current trade value is about a mid-2026 first-round pick. It might seem expensive, but considering the current rookie class, it could be a steal for Ward. If you don’t want to part ways with a first, you might be able to obtain Ward for a 2027 second.

Ward was QB14 during his final seven games as a rookie in a bad situation. Now, with a growing connection with Tate under the right coaching staff, Ward could be poised to jump into the low-end QB1 tier in 2026.

Chris Rodriguez Jr. - RB, Jacksonville Jaguars

Chris Rodriguez Jr. is coming off his best season in the NFL with 500 rushing yards and six touchdowns in a limited role. The 26-year-old earned a roster spot in Washington last year after going through a body transformation during the offseason.

Washington reports noted that he dropped over 10 pounds to become faster and improve his agility. After impressing during the preseason, he carved out a role in the offense.

The Jacksonville Jaguars actively signed Rodriguez to a two-year contract worth $10 million, with a max value of $12 million with incentives. The deal includes $6.2 million in guaranteed money, which was the sixth-most-guaranteed money given to a running back in free agency.

Rodriguez reunites with head coach Liam Coen, who was his offensive coordinator at Kentucky. The two established a strong bond while Rodriguez produced his most productive college season.

Heading into 2026, Rodriguez will split carries with Bhayshul Tuten and become the short-yardage back. The duo will create a thunder and lightning one-two punch to replace Travis Etienne Jr., who left behind 260 carries in the Jaguars backfield.

Most importantly, Rodriguez will be the primary goal-line back for a team that had the sixth-most rushing touchdowns in 2025, despite lacking a bigger back. Coen could look to feed Rodriguez near the end zone in hopes of keeping Trevor Lawrence protected from unnecessary hits. Lawrence had nine rushing touchdowns last year.

The Jaguars also took a step to improve the run game through the draft by selecting two tight ends. Shifting to more 12- and 13-personnel formations will add bigger and more skilled blockers on the field to create more space for backs to run through.

KeepTradeCut estimates that Rodriguez's value is about an early 2026 third-round pick or a mid-2027 third-round pick. That is relatively cheap for Rodriguez, who can produce as an RB2 within his range of outcomes. If Rodriguez can eclipse 1,000 rushing yards with 10 touchdowns, it would move him into that RB2 range.

Rodriguez is an ascending player who finally has an opportunity to flourish in a bigger role. The former Wildcat is a classic breakout player who is primed to take off this season.

Jonathon Brooks - RB, Carolina Panthers

The Panthers have been waiting a long time to see their 2024 second-round investment on the field. Jonathon Brooks has finally been cleared to participate in football activities, and he has stated that he feels "close to 100 percent."

Brooks suffered a torn ACL in his final season at Texas that forced him to miss the first 10 games of his rookie season. In his third game, he re-tore the same ACL, which forced him to miss the entire 2025 campaign.

The Panthers and doctors have worked hand-in-hand to give Brooks the proper time frame and recovery to get him back fully healthy.

The 22-year-old will be entering the backfield of a quietly ascending offense under head coach Dave Canales. Bryce Young has shown improvements each year, Tetairoa McMillan is the reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year, and the Panthers made key investments in the draft by selecting OT Monroe Freeling and WR Chris Brazzell II.

Meanwhile, Brooks will likely start the year in a split backfield with Chuba Hubbard, who signed a four-year extension in 2024.

Hubbard started last year as the team's RB1, but lost the lead role to journeyman running back Rico Dowdle midway through the season. Hubbard had more than eight carries only three times after Week 7 as Dowdle dominated touches.

With Dowdle departing for Pittsburgh in free agency, there will be 236 carries vacated in the Panthers offense. The Panthers were willing to part ways with their leading rusher in 2025, which could point to lofty expectations for Brooks.

KeepTradeCut has Brooks' estimated value as a 2027 late-second-round pick. The forgotten 46th overall pick could potentially be had for less after drifting off the radar since missing the 2025 season.

Brooks has the opportunity to lead the Panthers backfield in carries this season. The Panthers have already shown they are willing to place Hubbard in the backseat for a hot hand. With the draft pedigree and pure talent, Brooks will get his chance to prove himself as a lead back in 2026.

Alec Pierce - WR, Indianapolis Colts

Alec Pierce was the hottest name in the NFL heading into free agency in March, with teams clamping at the bit for him to hit the open market. At the 11th hour, Pierce and the Colts reached an agreement to bring him back to Indianapolis on a four-year, $114 million contract.

The 26-year-old posted career highs in targets (84), receptions (47), receiving yards (1,003), and receiving first downs (41). More importantly, Pierce was able to establish a strong connection with Daniel Jones.

Pierce is expected to become the No. 1 receiver after signing his new contract and the departure of Michael Pittman Jr. In his first four seasons, Pierce has been used exclusively as a deep threat, averaging 18.7 yards per reception.

Due to Pittman being out of the picture, Pierce can finally be used as a feature target in the short-to-intermediate part of the field. As a result, Pittman is leaving behind over 100 targets in the offense that are waiting for Pierce to gobble up.

Additionally, the Colts did not make any other major acquisitions to the offense this offseason. This magnifies the point that the passing attack will heavily feature Pierce. A front office on the hot seat would not fork out that amount of cash without having a plan to target him early and often.

Despite signing a long-term deal, KeepTradeCut has Pierce’s dynasty value decreasing as the offseason has gone along. It projects his future draft pick value around an early 2027 second-round pick. You would be betting on a young receiver with all the athletic traits in the world (6'3", 4.41 40 time, and 40.5" vertical) who is only one step away from putting it all together.

Pierce has the chance to capitalize on an electric season from a year ago. With a receiver room set for him to take over, his skills could flourish in an offensive passing attack tailored to him.

Chig Okonkwo - TE, Washington Commanders

The Washington Commanders spent this offseason reshaping both sides of the football after an underperforming season. Their biggest splash on offense was signing Chig Okonkwo to a three-year deal in free agency, bringing him back to the DMV.

Okonkwo led the Titans in receptions, receiving yards, and was a close second in yards after the catch. The 26-year-old also finished inside the top 15 in targets and receptions amongst all tight ends.

The former fourth-round pick is known for his athleticism after the catch and versatile skill set around the league. Many analysts, including Okonkwo, felt he was underutilized during his time in Tennessee.

In Washington, Okonkwo is stepping into a bigger role in a new offense under new offensive coordinator David Blough. In his introductory news conference, Okonkwo said he is excited to be used fully to his advantage in space, where he can use his speed and quickness and gain yards after the catch.

In addition, Zach Ertz served as Jayden Daniels' security blanket over the last two seasons. Ertz has caught the most passes (81) and the second-most touchdowns in the red zone (eight) from Daniels. In his last fully healthy season, Ertz finished as the TE7 in PPR leagues and was the TE10 before suffering a season-ending injury in Week 14 last year.

KeepTradeCut has estimated Okonkwo’s future pick value to be around a late 2027 third-round pick. That is a low price tag for a tight end on the rise. If an aging Ertz can produce those fantasy numbers, imagine what an athletic playmaker can do entering their prime.

Okonkwo has an opportunity to be the No. 2 pass-catcher in an offense with lofty expectations in 2026. With the projection of more targets and an improved usage, Okonkwo could be on his way to a TE1 season.
