Mason Plumlee is worth considering as a fantasy basketball waiver wire pickup heading into Week 13 of the 2022-23 NBA season.
BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 45% of leagues
ANALYSIS: We had a scare to close the 2022 calendar year in fear of losing Mason Plumlee, but it was all just a mirage. I'm talking, of course, about the lack of double-double outings put up by Plumlee between Dec. 16 and Dec. 26 after having plenty of them before.
That "slump" changed for the good after that latter date, though, with Plumlee now back to his early-season dub-dubbing ways, having three such outings in his last six games while falling either just three points or one rebound short of accomplishing the feat in all games through this late span and into the 2023 calendar year.
Writing about Plumlee is nothing new when it comes to these WW posts around here. He's been a season-long pick from us to offer you advice when it comes to getting shares of under-rostered big men. Plumlee has started all games he's played this season (40 and counting), staying on the court for a healthy 28 MPG.
Over the year, Plumlee is putting up a nightly 10-9-3 line. Most people would see that and say "ah, bad player, not double-doubling..." which is nonsensical. Just 18 players on the season are averaging a 10-9, and Plumlee is at an actual 10.8 PPG and 9.5 RPG.
Not convinced? Of those 18 players, Plumlee is one of just two turning the ball over fewer than two times per game while dishing out 3+ APG along with Nikola Vucevic. Take that for data.
