Three top fantasy baseball prospects - Braden Montgomery, Henry Bolte, Kevin Alcantara - that can make big impacts. These MLB prospects are waiver wire pickups or stashes.
Every season, fantasy managers see high-impact prospects earn the call to the big leagues and make a massive impact. Last summer, Nick Kurtz took the crown for this title and became league-winner once he earned the call.
Below, we will examine three outfield prospects who are looking quite comfortable at the Triple-A level and could be in the mix to debut in the majors much sooner than anticipated.
Should fantasy managers stash these high-end prospects? Let's dive in!

Braden Montgomery, OF, Chicago White Sox
Current Level: AAA
Availability: 5% rostered
2026 AA Stats: 27 G, .313/.429/.606, 5 2B, 6 HR, 2 SB
The Chicago White Sox have been playing better than expected, but their current outfield has struggled at the plate and may soon need reinforcements from the minors. Over the past two weeks, White Sox outfielders have produced an 84 wRC+, ranking sixth-worst in baseball over that span. At the major league level, the group currently includes Andrew Benintendi, Sam Antonacci, Tristan Peters, Jarred Kelenic, and recently signed veteran Randal Grichuk.
Is Braden Montgomery the answer to their problems? He definitely could be. The White Sox’s No. 5 prospect is a switch-hitting power bat with loud tools, and he was just promoted to Triple-A. Across three levels last season, Montgomery slashed .270/.360/.444 with 12 home runs and 14 stolen bases while posting a 25% strikeout rate and an 11% walk rate in 517 plate appearances.
Coming into the season, Montgomery was not expected to be a quick call-up, but of his 30 total hits in Double-A this year, 14 have gone for extra bases, leading to a .305 ISO and a .621 slugging percentage. The 23-year-old hits the ball hard while walking nearly 17% of the time. While his biggest flaw is a lot of swing-and-miss in his profile, that's normal given his approach.

If he continues to hit and maintains his current production, he may reach the South Side of Chicago sooner rather than later. So, how long should we expect him to be in Triple-A? Tough to say, but Antonacci played only 14 games in Triple-A before his promotion. With limited competition at the MLB level, Montgomery could realistically earn a call-up around the All-Star break, if not earlier.
For fantasy purposes, Montgomery should already be on your radar in 15-team leagues. Once he is promoted, he should be rostered in 12-team formats as well, especially in leagues that value on-base percentage.

Henry Bolte, OF, Athletics
Current Level: AAA
Availability: 5% rostered
2026 AAA Stats: 32 G, .296/.379/.504, 7 HR, 15 SB
A new addition to my top-25 prospects to stash rankings this week is Athletics' outfield prospect, Henry Bolte. In his first 31 games for Triple-A Las Vegas this season, Bolte has racked up 12 extra-base hits, seven home runs, and 13 steals with a .305/.385/.519 slash line. This comes after a 14/32 season in 2023, a 15/46 season in 2024, and a 9/44 season in 2025.
Bolte is more of an average to slightly above average power bat who has an 89.8 mph AVG EV and 39.8% hard-hit rate this season, but he can make a sizeable impact with his legs. Bolte is a plus or better runner who has shown the willingness to run early and often throughout his entire minor league career. He's also making a bit more contact this season, but still has a below average 77.4% zone and 70.4% overall contact rate.
Bolte is a boom or bust upside flier stash with a mid-season ETA.

Kevin Alcantara, OF, Chicago Cubs
Current Level: AAA
Availability: 5% rostered
2026 AAA Stats: 29 G, .255/.349/.636, 6 2B, 12 HR, 2 SB
The calendar has flipped to May, but Kevin Alcantara hasn't slowed down in the power department. The 23-year-old outfielder is currently on an eight-game hitting streak and has left the year in four of his last five games. For the season, Alcantara is now up to a whopping 12 home runs in 28 games with a .250/.336/.639 slash line. He's also walking at a solid 10.7% clip. With each passing home run, the loudness of those clamoring for his call-up intensifies.

With that said, I'm not sure if Alcantara is going to be up soon. For starters, the Cubs outfield and DH spots are currently occupied by Ian Happ (LF), Pete Crow-Armstrong (RF), Seiya Suzuki (RF), and Moises Ballesteros (DH). All of whom are either hitting well or providing elite defense. Alcantara is likely the next man up when the Cubs need an outfielder, but it will probably take an IL stint for one of the four aforementioned names for that to happen.
