Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Outlooks
Some of the top names include Tez Johnson, Parker Washington, Troy Franklin, Kyle Williams, Trey Benson, and more. We recap why these players rostered under 55% in Yahoo! leagues should be on your waiver wire radar for Week 11.
Tez Johnson, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Week 11 Waiver Wire Rankings: 5
Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie wide receiver Tez Johnson continues to see his role grow in his first year in the NFL, with Mike Evans (collarbone), Chris Godwin (leg), and Jalen McMillan (neck) injured. The Buccaneers fell short coming out of their bye in a 28-23 defeat to the visiting New England Patriots on Sunday, but it wasn't because of Johnson's efforts.
The 23-year-old first-year wideout caught four of his five targets on the day for 42 yards and two touchdowns. He averaged a healthy 10.5 yards per catch and now has four touchdowns in his first eight NFL games. In fact, Johnson has scored all four of his TDs in his last four games.
He has had at least five targets in the last three games as he and fellow rookie Emeka Egbuka lead Tampa's banged-up receiving corps. Evans and McMillan may not return this year, and Godwin is unlikely to be back in Week 11 against the Bills, so Johnson will be firmly in the WR4/flex mix in fantasy yet again next weekend.
Parker Washington, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars
Week 11 Waiver Wire Rankings: 7
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Parker Washington caught three of his seven targets for 33 yards and a touchdown, added two carries for minus-four yards, and returned a punt 73 yards for another touchdown in Sunday's 36-29 loss to the Houston Texans. Washington was Jacksonville's top target earner for the second straight week, with top wideouts Brian Thomas Jr. (ankle) and Travis Hunter (knee) both sidelined.
The 23-year-old led the Jaguars in routes and slot rate on Sunday, with recent trade acquisition Jakobi Meyers mostly aligning out wide and only running 50% routes. Washington had an impressive contested touchdown grab in the corner of the end zone during the first quarter, then added an electric punt return for a touchdown in the second quarter to reward fantasy managers who put their faith in him. Washington will project as a strong flex option again in Week 11 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Kyle Williams, WR, New England Patriots
Week 11 Waiver Wire Rankings: 58
New England Patriots rookie wide receiver Kyle Williams made one of the highlight plays of the week with a 72-yard catch and run touchdown, marking his first career score in Sunday's 28-23 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Williams had only one reception on two targets, but the rookie made it count as he showed off his blazing speed on the long score.
The rookie third-rounder hit a max speed of 21.78 mph on the play, which was the seventh fastest top speed by any player in the NFL this season, per Next Gen Stats. It was the highest mark by a Patriot all season until fellow rookie TreVeyon Henderson one-upped him, hitting 22.01 mph on his 55-yard touchdown run.
Williams was expected to see more action with Kayshon Boutte (hamstring) out, but he had just a 58% route share in the game. It will be interesting to see how the wide receiver rotation shakes out when Boutte returns, but Williams flashed his big-play ability and certainly warrants more snaps in the future.
Trey Benson, RB, Arizona Cardinals
Week 11 Waiver Wire Rankings: 1
Arizona Cardinals' second-year running back out of Florida State, Trey Benson (knee), missed Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks. The 23-year-old has now missed five games since undergoing arthroscopic surgery on a meniscus injury. He is "doing well," but did not practice last week. Benson remains day-to-day, and fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status throughout the week.
Benson remains a top IR stash for the time being, as they likely will give him the RB1 duties upon his return. Arizona will continue to mix and match in their backfield with Bam Knight (ankle), Emari Demercado, and Michael Carter. Right now, Demercado and Knight have some RB3 value while Carter is likely the odd man out based on recent usage.
Alec Pierce, WR, Indianapolis Colts
Week 11 Waiver Wire Rankings: 8
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce caught four of his seven targets for 84 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's win over the Atlanta Falcons in overtime. Pierce has quietly emerged as one of Daniel Jones' top targets lately, hauling in 17 passes for 366 yards and one touchdown over his last four games.
It's no secret that Indianapolis' offense revolves around Jonathan Taylor, but Pierce has established himself as a significant threat when the Colts pass the ball. He'll enjoy a Week 11 bye before returning to action as a solid fantasy WR3 in Week 12 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
