The Baltimore Ravens surprisingly fired long-time head coach John Harbaugh after 18 seasons at the helm on Tuesday, and they are looking for a new head coach who will "reach and "invigorate" quarterback Lamar Jackson, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Baltimore wants to find someone who can get the "absolute most" out of Jackson going forward. The two-time MVP QB seemed disinterested during the 2025 season, but he also missed a few games with a hamstring injury and was constantly listed on the injury report with nagging lower-body injuries. The 28-year-old dual-threat QB also missed a game late in the year with a back contusion. There were reports of a rift between Jackson and Harbaugh this year, and there were even rumors that Jackson could be traded in the offseason. With Harbaugh now out in Baltimore, it appears that the Ravens are moving forward with the plan to keep Jackson as the face of the franchise.--Keith Hernandez

The Las Vegas Raiders requested an interview with Denver Broncos quarterbacks coach Davis Webb for their head-coaching job, sources told Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. Webb is only 30 years old and spent six years as an NFL QB before going straight into coaching. Pelissero thinks Webb is a "fascinating candidate" who "has been on the fast track." After firing veteran head coach Pete Carroll on Black Monday, minority owner Tom Brady and general manager John Spytek might be going the unconventional approach to hiring their next head coach, especially since they are expected to draft Indiana QB Fernando Mendoza with the No. 1 overall pick in April. Webb has worked with Russell Wilson (one season) and Bo Nix in his three years in Denver. This will be his first head-coaching interview. The Raiders are also expected to interview Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak for the position.--Keith Hernandez

The Cleveland Browns have requested permission to interview Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Aden Durde for their vacant head-coaching job, a source told Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer. The Browns have also requested permission to interview Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken for the position, among others. Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald has called the plays on defense, but Durde has done a fine job as the D coordinator in Seattle the last two seasons. The Browns are looking to replace Kevin Stefanski, who they fired from the head-coaching gig on Monday. Durde started his NFL coaching career as an intern with the Dallas Cowboys in 2014 and also coached with Atlanta and Dallas. He's probably a long shot to win the Browns' job.--Keith Hernandez

Former Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh is expected to emerge as a favorite to become the next head coach for the New York Giants, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter. After being fired by the Ravens on Tuesday after 18 years with the organization, Harbaugh is expected to be pursued by many teams around the league who are searching for a new head coach. Former Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski could be Harbaugh's primary competition for the head-coaching gig in the Big Apple. In his 18 years in Baltimore, Harbaugh went 180-113 in the regular season while going 13-11 in the playoffs with a Super Bowl championship. The 64-year-old would be an intriguing fit for a New York Giants team that already has some strong offensive weapons in place with quarterback Jaxson Dart, receiver Malik Nabers, and running back Cam Skattebo.--Keith Hernandez

The Arizona Cardinals have requested to interview New England Patriots passing-game coordinator Thomas Brown for their head-coaching job, a source told Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network. Brown has been a big part of New England's turnaround in 2025, and he has play-calling and head-coaching experience while learning from two of the best in Sean McVay and Mike Vrabel. The Cardinals so far have mostly been targeting defensive-minded head-coaching candidates as they look for a replacement for Jonathan Gannon. The 39-year-old first started as a running backs coach for the Los Angeles Rams in 2020, and he stayed with the team for three seasons. Brown also worked as the Panthers' offensive coordinator in 2023 before being the Bears' pass-game coordinator, offensive coordinator, and interim head coach in 2024.--Keith Hernandez

Former Dallas Cowboys head coach and current NBC analyst Jason Garrett will interview for the Tennessee Titans' head-coaching job on Friday, sources told Adam Schefter of ESPN. It's a surprise name, as Garrett hasn't coached in the NFL since the 2021 season, when he was the New York Giants' offensive coordinator. However, he does have plenty of head-coaching experience after a run of over nine seasons with the Dallas Cowboys. The Titans have also reportedly been interested in former Cowboys and Packers head coach Mike McCarthy, who was out of the league in 2025. After firing head coach Brian Callahan during the season, general manager Mike Borgonzi is leading the search for a new head coach. Tennessee finished 3-14 and last in the NFC South in 2025 with rookie first overall pick Cameron Ward struggling in his first year as the starting QB.--Keith Hernandez

According to sources, head coach John Harbaugh won't return to the Baltimore Ravens in 2026, per Adam Schefter of ESPN. There were rumblings that Harbaugh might be on the hot seat if Baltimore didn't make the playoffs, and now he's out after 18 seasons with the organization. Harbaugh will immediately jump to the front of the list for top head-coaching candidates around the league now that he is on the open market, with the New York Giants perhaps being his top suitor. Baltimore finished 8-9 in 2025 after a 1-5 start, and they were 0-4 this year in games decided by five points or fewer. Since 2008, the Ravens were 45-61 in such games under Harbaugh. He was the league's second-longest-tenured head coach behind Mike Tolin, and Harbaugh's 193 total wins are tied with Chuck Knox for 12th in NFL history. He led Baltimore to 12 playoff berths in his 18 seasons, including six playoff appearances in the last eight years.--Keith Hernandez

Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak has received interview requests for the New York Giants, Arizona Cardinals, Las Vegas Raiders, and Atlanta Falcons head-coaching jobs, a source told Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated. Right now, Kubiak's focus is on the playoffs, so he is taking a day or two to "figure out a plan to balance all of it." The Seahawks are the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoff picture and have a bye for Wild-Card weekend. In his first year running Seattle's offense in 2025, the Seahawks finished third in the NFL in points scored. Quarterback Sam Darnold became the first QB in history to lead two different teams to 13-plus-win seasons in back-to-back seasons. Before joining Seattle, Kubiak was the offensive coordinator with the New Orleans Saints in 2024.--Keith Hernandez

The Arizona Cardinals have requested to interview San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh for their head-coaching job, a source told Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated. The Cardinals have also requested an interview for the same position with Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver, and they plan to interview Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph this week. Saleh was the head coach for the New York Jets for three seasons, but he was fired after going 20-36 in his time at the helm. Saleh returned to San Francisco to coach the defense this year. Given all of the injuries for the 49ers on that side of the ball, Saleh did a pretty remarkable job in 2025 with the team in contention for the No. 1 seed in the AFC going into the Week 18 regular-season finale. It appears that Arizona might be leaning towards a defensive-minded head coach to replace Jonathan Gannon.--Keith Hernandez

The Cleveland Browns have requested to interview Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken for their vacant head-coaching job, sources told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Monken received multiple head-coaching requests last cycle, and his name is back in circulation this offseason after the Ravens were eliminated from postseason contention in Week 18 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Cleveland is looking for a new head coach after firing Kevin Stefanski on Black Monday. The 59-year-old Monken has run the Ravens' offense for the last three years, but he previously worked as the offensive coordinator for the Browns under head coach Freddie Kitchens in 2019. The Ravens have finished sixth, first, and 16th in yards, and fourth, third, and 11th in points in three seasons under Monken. He'd have a considerably bigger challenge in Cleveland, a team that will be going into next year with a QB competition among Deshaun Watson (Achilles), Shedeur Sanders, and Dillon Gabriel.--Keith Hernandez

The New York Giants have requested permission to interview Indianapolis Colts defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo for their head-coaching job, a source told Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network. Anarumo is a Staten Island native and a former Giants assistant. He is also expected to interview for the opening at head coach for the Tennessee Titans on Wednesday. Anarumo was the Cincinnati Bengals' defensive coordinator for six seasons before joining the Colts in 2025. He was the Giants' defensive-backs coach in 2018 when Pat Shurmur was the head coach. In addition to Anarumo, New York is expected to interview former Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski and Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph for the head-coaching job. The Giants' head-coaching opening is one of the most attractive jobs around the league, given the intriguing building blocks on offense in quarterback Jaxson Dart, receiver Malik Nabers (knee), and running back Cam Skattebo (ankle).--Keith Hernandez

Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph is expected to interview with the Las Vegas Raiders, Arizona Cardinals, New York Giants, and Tennessee Titans for their head-coaching openings in the coming days, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter. The Broncos hold the top seed in the AFC and will have a first-round bye in the Wild-Card round of the playoffs this week, thus freeing Joseph up to talk with teams seeking a new head coach. Joseph went 11-21 as the Broncos head coach in 2017 and 2018 and also has previous head-coaching experience with the Cardinals. He will get another chance at a head-coaching job going into the 2026 season after doing a remarkable job running Denver's stout defense this year. The Broncos allowed the third-fewest points per game (18.3) under Joseph, while also giving up the second-fewest total yards per game (278.2).--Keith Hernandez

Former Washington Commanders offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury is expected to interview with the New York Giants and Tennessee Titans, among others, for their open head-coaching positions, sources told Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports. The Commanders and Kingsbury "mutually" agreed to part ways on Tuesday so that Kingsbury can pursue another head-coaching opportunity. After the success that Kingsbury had with quarterback Jayden Daniels in his impressive rookie season in 2024, it's clear why teams searching for a new head coach who also have young QBs (like the Giants and Titans) would be interested in hiring Kingsbury. Despite all of the injuries to Washington's skill players on offense in 2025, Kingsbury kept the boat afloat with backup QB Marcus Mariota. QBs Jaxson Dart and Cameron Ward would definitely benefit from the addition of Kingsbury.--Keith Hernandez

The Atlanta Falcons have requested permission to interview Chicago Bears assistant general manager Ian Cunningham for their vacant GM position, a source told Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports. Cunningham is a strong early candidate in Atlanta after the team fired both GM Terry Fontenot and head coach Raheem Morris on Sunday. Former Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan is a prime candidate to become Atlanta's president of football operations, and Ryan is one of Bears GM Ryan Poles' best friends. Cunningham turned down the Cardinals' GM job three years ago before interviewing in Tennessee and Jacksonville last offseason. One of the top orders of business for the Falcons once they get their new front office in place this offseason will be to evaluate the QB position to determine if the oft-injured Michael Penix Jr. (knee) should really be the franchise signal-caller.--Keith Hernandez

The Washington Commanders fired defensive coordinator Joe Whitt Jr. on Tuesday, according to Grant Paulsen of 106.7 The Fan. The Commanders also "mutually" parted ways with offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury following the 2025 season, so head coach Dan Quinn will be looking for two new coordinators this offseason. The firing of Whitt doesn't come as a big surprise, as the Commanders' defense was a weak spot all season long. Whitt followed Quinn to the nation's capital after working with him in Dallas. Quinn took over defensive play-calling duties midway through the 2025 season, which is why Whitt's firing at the end of the year doesn't come as a surprise to most. Washington allowed the sixth-most points per game (26.5) this year while also surrendering the most yards per game (384), fifth-most passing yards per game (242.5), and third-most rushing yards per game (141.8).--Keith Hernandez
