Gio Lopez and Carlos Hernandez Shine In Wake Forest Win

Former South Alabama and North Carolina quarterback Gio Lopez looked very good in his Wake Forest debut. Lopez was reunited with South Alabama's 2024 offensive coordinator, Rob Azell, in his Wake Forest debut. The result was the best game for Lopez in nearly two years. He threw for 350 yards and three touchdowns in Wake Forest's 38-16 win over Akron. WR Carlos Hernandez only caught five passes, but they were for 165 yards and a touchdown. Both players should be targets in your fantasy leagues as fill-ins for bye weeks or tough matchups. Wake Forest only faces one ranked team after September is over. --Mike Marteny - RotoBaller
