Cleveland Guardians pitching prospect Aaron Davenport tossed six shutout innings during his start on Wednesday against Double-A Altoona. This was the first time this season that Davenport logged six innings in a start. The right-hander allowed just one hit and held a 5:3 K:BB. This was a strong outing for Davenport as he held a modest 4.86 ERA with a 1.02 WHIP across his first four starts (16 2/3 innings) this season. The right-hander has shown steady command of his pitches this season, as he has served up just six walks. Last summer, the 24-year-old spent most of his time at Double-A, where he logged a 2.85 ERA with a 1.18 WHIP across 142 1/3 innings of work. If Davenport continues to hold his own at Double-A, he should earn a promotion to Triple-A in the coming weeks.--Andy Smith
