NBA DFS: Top Daily Fantasy Expert Picks for DraftKings, FanDuel (3/27/24)

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Oklahoma City Thunder

Free daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for today's slate on DraftKings and FanDuel. Use Juan Carlos Blanco's NBA DFS expert picks to building winning DFS lineups on March 27, 2024.

We're set for another massive Wednesday night in the NBA, one so big that DK and FD are still offering 10 games to work with despite keeping the final two games of the night off their main slates. As customary, when we're dealing with this many teams, we have plenty to choose from at each position across the salary scale.

The key to being successful in NBA DFS comes down to making adjustments during the day as injury information becomes available. But it's always really important to have a game plan, and the best players and spots circled first before making those adjustments. To keep up with all the latest developments and get access to updated projections, grab an NBA season pass and also gain access to our RotoBaller Premium Discord, where @chiefjustice6 is talking about the slate up until lineups lock!

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 3/27/24. Remember to monitor NBA injury news and our awesome NBA injuries report tool, as the slate can completely change before lineups lock at 7:00 p.m.  EDT on FanDuel and DraftKings.

Today's NBA DFS Core Picks

Let's first take a look at our premium projections to see who we want to target for our top spend-ups tonight.

I'll begin by stating my belief that the Lakers could make for unpredictable plays tonight outside LeBron James, who rested for Tuesday's double-OT marathon against the Bucks but will suit up Wednesday. He's included a top play at small forward, but I'm not specifically recommending Anthony Davis despite the fact he's listed as the top projected play on the slate above. I also wouldn't go out of my way to dissuade anyone from rostering him. Still, when you consider the investment required, you do want to be realistic about what his chances of delivering a truly worthy return are after playing no less than 40 minutes in his last three games (including 52 last night) and with Wednesday's contest also qualifying as his fourth game in six nights.

With that being said, I like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to have once again a strong chance of being the star of the slate. He'll face a Rockets team that he's already shot 59.7 percent against, including 66.7 percent from three-point range, in three previous games this season, and he comes in having eclipsed 50 fantasy points on six occasions in 12 March games alone.

Paolo Banchero has been an exceedingly safe play throughout the season and is facing a Warriors team that's allowed over 54 DK and over 52 FD points to power forwards in the last 30 games.

Jalen Green has been one of the league's hottest shooters of late and has seen his fantasy production skyrocket in several games as a result, shooting 52.2 percent, including 47.0 percent from behind the arc, over his last six contests. The third-year guard has eclipsed 50 fantasy points on four occasions, including one 60+ effort, in that span.

    1. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, OKC vs. HOU – PG ($10.3K DK; $10.9K FD)
    2. Paolo Banchero, ORL vs. GSW – PF/SF ($8.7K DK; $8.6K FD)
    3. Jalen Green, HOU at OKC– PG/SG ($8.9K DK; $8.8K FD)

Today's NBA DFS Value Picks

De'Andre Hunter will continue filling in for Jalen Johnson (ankle) on Wednesday and is coming off having scored 38.3 DK/34.9 FD points over 34 minutes against the Celtics on Monday in his second start of Johnson's current absence.

Mike Conley has enjoyed a productive March that has included six contributions of more than 30 fantasy points in 12 games, and he checks in shooting 50.7 percent, including 44.7 percent from three-point range, in his last six games. Detroit is also ranked No. 23 in offensive efficiency rating allowed to point guards.

Scotty Pippen Jr. is enjoying a solid role as the starting point guard for the Grizzlies, averaging 14.7 points, 5.3 assists, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.0 steals over his last three games while shooting 57.7 percent, including 50.0 percent from behind the arc.

Top Value Plays:

  1. De'Andre Hunter, ATL vs. POR - SF/PF ($5.9K DK; $5.9K FD)
  2. Mike Conley, MIN vs. DET - PG ($5.7K DK; $6.2K FD)
  3. Scotty Pippen Jr., MEM vs. LAL - PG ($5.2K DK;$5.7K FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Point Guard

SGA and Conley have already been discussed, while Darius Garland is an excellent mid-salary play who's still operating without Donovan Mitchell and who's averaging just under 35 fantasy points per contest on either site in the last 10 games. The Hornets also rank No. 27 in offensive efficiency rating allowed to point guards and have conceded over 54 DK and over 51 FD points per contest to the position in the last 30 games.

Top PG Options:

  1. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, OKC vs. HOU – PG ($10.3K DK; $10.9K FD)
  2. Darius Garland, CLE at CHA - ($7.4K DK; $7.2K FD)
  3. Mike Conley, MIN vs. DET - PG ($5.7K DK; $6.2K FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Shooting Guard

Green's appeal has already been discussed, while Donte DiVincenzo has the ability to outpace his current salaries significantly. The talented wing most recently demonstrated as much by eclipsing 50 fantasy points in each of his past two games and now faces a vulnerable and injury-hampered Raptors team.

Meanwhile, Norman Powell is always an intriguing tournament play. He has eclipsed 28 fantasy points on 13 occasions this season, which is impressive upside for his current salary.

Top SG Options:

  1. Jalen Green, HOU at OKC– PG/SG ($8.9K DK; $8.8K FD)
  2. Donte DiVincenzo, NYK at TOR – SG/SF ($6.9K DK; $7.6K FD)
  3. Norman Powell, LAC at PHI – ($5.2K DK; $5.1K FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Small Forward

As discussed earlier, LeBron will arguably have the most rested legs of any of his front-line teammates Wednesday and could, therefore, serve as an excellent pay-up option versus a short-handed Grizzlies team that he's notably already shot 46.7 percent from three-point range against this season.

Josh Hart has been stuffing the stat sheet with regularity during the extended absences of Julius Randle (shoulder) and OG Anunoby (elbow), averaging just under 40 fantasy points in his last 14 games and often making up for shooting inefficiencies with outstanding work on the boards. Wednesday, he faces a Raptors team allowing the seventh-most rebounds (53.0, including 59.0 per contest in the last three).

Top SF Options:

  1. LeBron James, LAL at MEM - SF/PF ($10.2K DK; $10.1K FD)
  2. Josh Hart, NYK at TOR - SF/PF ($7.6K DK; $7.8K FD)
  3. De'Andre Hunter, ATL vs. POR - SF/PF ($5.9K DK; $5.9K FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Power Forward

Besides Banchero, who was discussed earlier, Pascal Siakam is another very appealing power forward choice if you're paying up at the position. The veteran checks in on an impressive 11-game run of production, during which he's shooting 54.7 percent and averaging 23.3 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per contest.

Toumani Camara does carry some risk, but his very reasonable salaries certainly help mitigate it. Additionally, he comes in with three straight double-digit scoring efforts and has eclipsed 20 fantasy points in five of his last seven games. He is slated to continue in a starting role with Jerami Grant (hamstring) doubtful on Wednesday.

Top PF Options:

    1. Paolo Banchero, ORL vs. GSW – PF/SF ($8.7K DK; $8.6K FD)
    2. Pascal Siakam, IND at CHI - PF/C ($8.1K DK; $8.5K FD)
    3. Toumani Camara, POR at ATL – PF ($4.5K DK; $5K FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Center

Jaren Jackson Jr. has a chance to make some inroads against what should be a fatigued Lakers team and comes in having eclipsed 40 fantasy points in six of his last nine games.

Nicolas Claxton is a virtual lock for at least 30 fantasy points any time he takes the floor and faces a Wizards team allowing an NBA-high 38.1 offensive efficiency rating to centers and just under 60 fantasy points per game to the position in the last 30 contests.

Richaun Holmes has shown plenty of upside for his salaries recently, eclipsing 30 fantasy points in three straight games while holding down the starting center role.

Top C Options:

  1. Jaren Jackson Jr., MEM vs. LAL ($8.2K DK; $8.4K FD)
  2. Nicolas Claxton, BKN at WAS – C ($6.4K DK; $7.2K FD)
  3. Richaun Holmes, WAS vs. BKN – ($4.7K DK; $6.2K FD)

Today's Top NBA DFS Game Stacks

  1. Pacers at Bulls (234.0 total)
  2. Rockets at Thunder (230.5 total)

Today's Top NBA DFS Avoids

  1. As already noted, the bottom could fall out of the Lakers tonight with the exception of LeBron, considering the unforgiving schedule they're in the midst of and last night's grueling double-OT game.
  2. There are a couple of games with particularly suppressed projected totals, but the Cavaliers-Hornets feature just a 206.5-point figure and are largely a stay-away for me outside of Garland.
