Chris's fantasy baseball prospects to stash list for Week 19 of 2025. His top MLB prospects and rookie sleepers to make fantasy impacts this year when called up.
Welcome, friends, to the 2025 MLB season, and my weekly article about fantasy baseball prospects to stash heading into Week 19. Who are the top prospects you need to know for redraft leagues? I failed you last week! It was the first time in nine weeks that we did not get a prospect called up within the week after they were featured in the article. As we approach the All-Star break, we are soon to see more. Let's break down some new prospects to stash, such as Kristian Campbell, C.J. Kayfus, Dylan Beavers, and J.J. Wetherholt.
Winning in a fantasy baseball redraft league requires a nice blend of high-floor players and upside shots. While prospects present more risk in a one-year setting, such as a redraft league, they pay big dividends if they succeed. The reward could be huge if these players receive adequate playing time and perform well.
Throughout the season, there will be plenty of prospects who will get promoted and make an impact on their respective MLB teams and fantasy teams. Getting ahead of the curve on these players can pay huge dividends regarding FAAB bids. You can save money and have your league mates question how you are already in on that player so far in advance. Here are this week's fantasy baseball prospects to stash. These players can make a splash in redraft leagues for the remainder of the 2025 season and are expected to debut in the big leagues soon.

Kristian Campbell, INF/OF - Boston Red Sox
Campbell has finally been getting things going at the plate. After an improbable rise through the minors last year, Campbell made the Opening Day roster for the Red Sox and looked pretty good to start the season. Pitchers adjusted to him and over his most recent 104 plate appearances with Boston, Campbell slashed a smooth .176/.279/.231 with just one home run and a 29 percent strikeout rate.
The demotion to Triple-A didn't do much good either. Campbell struck out in 34 percent of plate appearances while slashing .186/.352/.300 in 20 games. Suddenly, things have gotten on track, and Campbell has hits in his last 10 games with three home runs and just eight strikeouts.
Campbell seems to have re-found his groove while also working through a rib injury and some swing adjustments. This is a pretty typical process for most prospects. For hitters especially, a prospect comes up and looks the part, but eventually, pitchers adjust. Going back to the Minors can be a good time of adjustment and to get things on track.
For Campbell, the first time he struggled and faced adversity was probably a good thing for him. He should return mentally tougher and mechanically more prepared to face MLB pitching. For fantasy players, it is the perfect time to buy low on Campbell.
CJ Kayfus, 1B - Cleveland Guardians
Kayfus is not your typical build for a first baseman. While listed at 6-foot-zero and 192 pounds, Kayfus is shorter than that based on my eyes and seeing him at All-Star weekend. It has not stopped him from hitting, as Kayfus dominated in Double-A and quickly moved to Triple-A, where he continued to hit.
In 369 plate appearances, with the majority coming in Triple-A, Kayfus has mashed 14 home runs and has a .300/.390/.539 slash line. Kayfus's 40 extra base hits in 86 games stand out in a big way, and Kayfus just continues to perform despite not lighting up the statcast leaderboards.
Strikeouts have always been an issue as Kayfus moves up to new levels. Upon his promotion to Triple-A this season, Kayfus punched out at a rate north of 27 percent. The contact rates and approach have been close to average, with an overall contact rate of 72 percent this year, with an in-zone contact rate around 84 percent. The chase rate has hovered around 28 percent for the season.
The exit velocities are close to average, with an 88 mph average exit velocity and a 90th percentile of 104 mph. The launch angles help the profile play up, though, as Kayfus has a strong 40 percent sweet spot rate, which has led to a barrel rate just shy of 10 percent.
While Kayfus likely won't be a fantasy stud in the majors, he does have traits that could make him an everyday regular. Kayfus should be in Cleveland soon and would be a solid add in 15-team leagues.
Dylan Beavers, OF - Baltimore Orioles
While the flurry of Orioles players traded did not lead to Beavers being called up immediately, his time is coming. Beavers has strung together an impressive season with Triple-A Norfolk and is now on the cusp of his MLB debut. After a bumpy 2024 season saw him slash .242/.342/.408, Beavers have taken a massive leap forward in 2025 and appear to be a different hitter. With some subtle changes in the swing, Beavers puts himself in a good spot to hit every swing.
One slight change from last season is a slightly smaller leg kick. Beavers is getting his foot down much earlier and is timing things up well. His hands are also in a slightly high position at the start of his swing. Last year, Beavers tipped the barrel a bit and had his hands slightly below his shoulders before the start of his swing. This year, his hands are a little above his shoulders before dropping the swing into the slot.
Beavers is up to 14 home runs in 363 trips to the plate, and Beavers looks poised to pass his career-high 15 that he had last year in 531 plate appearances. The contact numbers have taken a leap, and Beavers has seen his strikeout rate fall from 23.5 percent to 17 percent in 2025.
Under the hood, Beavers won't knock your socks off, but he does have respectable numbers. His average exit velocity of 88 mph is average, but the 105.4 90th percentile exit velocity is solid. Being a selective hitter, Beavers picks his spots well and has great launch angles.
The improvements are notable, and Beavers looks ready to play in an Orioles uniform. Expect a call-up to happen in the next two weeks.
JJ Wetherholt, SS - St. Louis Cardinals
Wetherholt's promotion to Triple-A has confirmed everything we thought about him as a prospect; he is ready for the Majors. After being the model of consistency in Double-A, Wetherholt has already hit five home runs and has 11 extra-base hits in 14 Triple-A games.
Through June, Wetherholt has been one of the most consistent hitters in the minors, though it was not flashy. This month, the power has come out in a big way. He is now up to 12 home runs on the season and 33 extra base hits.
Wetherholt is hitting the cover off the ball with an average exit velocity north of 90 mph and has raised his 90th percentile exit velocity on the season up to near 105 mph. While Wetherholt does not post super high-end exit velocities, he consistently squares up baseballs and creates plenty of barrels.
When you talk about consistency, Wetherholt is who comes to mind. Wetherholt has hits in two-thirds of his games and has been on base in 66 of 76 games played this year. The feel for the barrel is fantastic, and his approach is so sound. Currently, Wetherholt has an 84 percent overall contact with an in-zone contact rate that jumps in the upper-80 percent range. He does not expand the zone and has walked more often than he has struck out. While the contact numbers have dipped a bit in Triple-A, the power has really come out, even under the hood.
Expect Wetherholt to get a cup of coffee in September to get his feet wet and make a run at Rookie of the Year in 2026.
