John's four-round fantasy football dynasty mock draft for superflex startup leagues in 2026. See his recommended picks for brand new superflex dynasty drafts.
Super Bowl LX is over, and the Seattle Seahawks are the 2025-26 NFL champions! But we're fantasy managers, so we care less about that and more about how we can try to be fantasy champions in our leagues in the future.
There's no better time to break down fantasy rankings in dynasty leagues than any time outside of the regular season. This is one of those times, of course!
So, let's break down a Superflex startup dynasty mock draft for 2026! This will be for non-tight-end premium leagues, so the tight ends will be a bit lower in rankings than in those leagues. Let's dive in!

Round 2 - Dynasty Startup Mock Draft
Note: for Round 2 and Round 1, each player will have a short analytical write-up to provide insight.
2.12 - Trevor Lawrence, QB, Jacksonville Jaguars
All it took was an elite offensive mind as head coach for Lawrence's potential to be realized. Liam Coen transformed the Jaguars offense. His scheme has the offensive line playing better and receivers consistently running open, as well as a great run game to back it up. Lawrence's late-season stretch was elite.
2.11 - CeeDee Lamb, WR, Dallas Cowboys
Lamb played through a high-ankle sprain for much of 2025. What was of greater concern was his reduced target volume due to the arrival of George Pickens. Lamb was simply outclassed by the Cowboys' "WR2," who was basically their WR1. Lamb probably won't put up anything like his 2023 numbers unless his new teammate leaves for another team this offseason. But the Cowboys have expressed that they want to extend him.
2.10 - Bo Nix, QB, Denver Broncos
Nix, unfortunately, suffered broken bones in his ankle near the end of his team's Divisional Round win in the playoffs. He should be fully healthy next season. He's a highly productive QB with huge single-game upside, plenty of room for improvement, and an elite head coach.
2.09 - George Pickens, WR, Dallas Cowboys
Pickens, unlike his star teammate, doesn't need to be the clear WR1 with a massive amount of targets to be fantasy dynamite. The former Steeler showed more single-game and season-long upside than his counterpart, tantrums and effort questions aside.
2.08 - Justin Herbert, QB, Los Angeles Chargers
A fully healthy offensive line, the array of weapons he already has, and new offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel should help Herbert finally replicate his awesome 2021 season, in which he was the QB2.

— ChargersBoltUp⚡️⚡️⚡️ (@exoticchiefer0) February 7, 2026
Maybe he won't get back to that spot, thanks to a lack of elite rushing upside, but he should be much improved fantasy-wise moving forward.
2.07 - Brock Purdy, QB, San Francisco 49ers
It turns out that Purdy performs very well when his entire team isn't injured around him. This season, he dealt with injuries of his own, and most of his star playmakers eventually got hurt. But he's still relatively young and is on a fantastic offense. He's underrated, as he's going much lower in consensus rankings than here.
2.06 - Justin Jefferson, WR, Minnesota Vikings
It might be quite some time until the Vikings get a quarterback upgrade significantly better than what they had last year. It seems that QB J.J. McCarthy just wasn't experienced enough to smoothly transition to an NFL QB. Jefferson had his worst season as a pro in 2025.
Look at this @JJettas2 route 😳

"Jettas" is an elite fantasy WR when he has at least a solid QB.
2.05 - Malik Nabers, WR, New York Giants
Nabers is awesome. So is his quarterback. But the Giants hired Matt Nagy as their offensive coordinator. He's responsible for nerfing the Chiefs offense the past few years, and it's likely the Giants take a step back. Still, Nabers is one of the youngest and most explosive WRs in the league.
2.04 - Ashton Jeanty, RB, Las Vegas Raiders
Jeanty showed us glimpses of elite play in a few of his games last year. The new head coach in Vegas, Klint Kubiak, should immediately help Jeanty rocket up the ranks and finish as a top-5 fantasy RB for multiple seasons moving forward. It's hard to overstate how huge this hire is for him.
.@AshtonJeanty2 went off for over 150 total yards and 3 TDs in Week 4 🏴☠️ pic.twitter.com/URAnQrwrBK

2.03 - Patrick Mahomes, QB, Kansas City Chiefs
Firing Matt Nagy, the Chiefs' former offensive coordinator, should work wonders for Mahomes. He's looked mortal the past few seasons. Nagy is known for having a low-performing and gimmicky offense. The three-time Super Bowl champion should have better production in 2026 and moving forward.
Kansas City severely lacks pass-catching talent, though.
2.02 - Jalen Hurts, QB, Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles offensive line showed signs of mortality in 2025. And they lost their offensive line coach, Jeff Stoutland, who stepped down from the position. He's a legend and arguably the best OL coach of all time. Still, Hurts has plenty of rushing upside, and the Eagles have a great offensive roster.
2.01 - Jaxson Dart, QB, New York Giants
Dart's dip in production last season is not his fault. He lost his WR1 and RB1 and was working under a head coach who got fired. The Giants will be fully healthy to start the 2026 season, and it's very possible fantasy drafters will wonder how they let New York's QB1 fall so far in startup drafts.
The Great of #NYGiants quarterback Jaxson Dart is not just his arm talent it is his ability go throw stationary or on the move. pic.twitter.com/eA1wz0Vq29
— Coach Gene Clemons (@geneclemons) January 30, 2026
Dart missed out on a LOT of fantasy points due to drops, too. A better coaching staff should help the offensive line protect better for Dart, too.
Round 1 - Dynasty Startup Mock Draft
1.12 -Amon-Ra St. Brown, WR, Detroit Lions
St. Brown is so consistently good it's almost boring. He's been the WR3 in fantasy football in each of the last three seasons. Maybe that's his ceiling, but you can't go wrong picking him. He just doesn't have the upper-tier elite single-game upside that the WRs ahead of him on this list do.
1.11 - Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Detroit Lions
Picking an elite-tier running back in the first round appears to be a great plan in these leagues. Gibbs scored over 55 fantasy points once last season, which was the highest total of any player. That's commendable.

— Woodward Sports Network (@woodwardsports) June 11, 2025
Having an elite running back has been the most important thing you can do in fantasy football over the last two seasons.
1.10 - Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, Seattle Seahawks
JSN's monster season earned him the title of WR2 in fantasy football for the 2025 season. The Seahawks former offensive coordinator's wizardry will belong to the Las Vegas Raiders soon, though. This offense could take a step back if they don't hire another elite OC and keep him around, which might be difficult.
JSN WAS WIDE OPEN DOWNFIELD.

— Arye Pulli (@AryePulliNFL) February 9, 2026
And despite his huge season, his quarterback missed him quite a bit. Still, he shouldn't fall out of the first round for any reason.
1.09 - Drake London, WR, Atlanta Falcons
London is one of the few WRs in the NFL who can simply leap over defenders to catch passes. He's 6-foot-4 and a fantastic athlete. He appears to have developed nicely, and looked nearly unguardable last season before his injury.

— NFL (@NFL) November 2, 2025
Multiple top-5 fantasy WR seasons are on the way for London if he can stay healthy and the quarterback situation can stabilize.
1.08 - Jayden Daniels, QB, Washington Commanders
The dream season in 2024 was followed by a season from hell. Daniels dealt with multiple injuries, as did his star receiver, and the offense took a big step back as a result. But he still has a ton of fantasy upside due to his rushing ability and capacity to extend plays.
still thinking about this Jayden Daniels throw 🥹 pic.twitter.com/1TWGeRGzlc
— 𝒆𝒍𝒊… (@CMNDERS) January 14, 2026
Like the No. 2 player on this list, he has a great deep ball.
1.07 - Lamar Jackson, QB, Baltimore Ravens
We might have seen a glimpse of how Jackson could play once his elite athleticism started to fade in 2025. He relies extensively on his mobility to force defenses to play against the quarterback run, which opens up big gaps in the passing game for him to throw into. Those weren't quite as present in 2025.
Still, he probably has at least five years of great production ahead of him.
1.06 - Joe Burrow, QB, Cincinnati Bengals
There should still be some elite seasons ahead for Burrow. His stock takes a bit of a fall due to an injury that made him miss much of 2025. But a fully healthy season from him should be an elite one, and Bengals head coach Zac Taylor might finally get fired after 2026, which could be a boost.
The Joe Burrow Superman touchdown pass has taken attention away from this play which was just about as insane. Dude is a magician back there. pic.twitter.com/N4EWExZb7U

1.05 - Puka Nacua, WR, Los Angeles Rams
It looks like Rams QB Matthew Stafford will be returning next season. He announced so recently. Nacua will get to run it back with both Stafford and Davante Adams. With Adams there to draw away coverage and Stafford still playing at a high level, Nacua had a monster season in 2025.

— NFL (@NFL) December 7, 2025
Nacua is a great route runner and one of the best WRs at the catch point the game has ever seen. He's quite injury-prone, but probably bound for the Hall of Fame one day.
1.04 - Ja'Marr Chase, WR, Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals are probably going to be stuck with having a terrible defense for plenty of seasons to come. That's a good thing for Chase's fantasy value. Though his QB was injured for much of 2025 and he was often outshone by the WR2 behind him, Chase is still an elite WR with elite target volume on a team that's forced to pass.

1.03 - Bijan Robinson, RB, Atlanta Falcons
It's not typical to see a running back selected this high in dynasty startup drafts, but Robinson is deserving of being reached for. He's a young RB with a huge workhorse role who excels on the ground and through the air. And he has an almost-unique ability to make defenders miss.
.@Bijan5Robinson is a human joystick 🕹️😮💨 pic.twitter.com/2ScJ9iPIzq
— NFL (@NFL) July 3, 2025
He's been very durable in his role, too.
1.02 - Drake Maye, QB, New England Patriots
Despite still having an overall weaker offensive supporting cast, Maye was one of the best QBs in fantasy football this past year. He finished as the QB2 overall at just 23 years old. The Patriots have their franchise QB, who's a great rusher and passer. He has a bright future ahead of him.
Drake Maye has been baaaalling this season 🔥
Is he your MVP? pic.twitter.com/z492f2f9dZ
— NFL UK & Ireland (@NFLUKIRE) January 24, 2026
Maye has a beautiful deep ball and can make throws from all kinds of arm angles with great accuracy. His mobility gives him a ton more upside at extending plays and picking up rushing yards.
1.01 - Josh Allen, QB, Buffalo Bills
Elite passing and elite rushing upside have helped Allen finish as the QB1 or QB2 overall in fantasy football in each of the last six seasons. He was the QB1 in 2025. He's missed just one game in those six seasons and has yet to score under 370 total PPR fantasy points since 2019.
Josh Allen doing Josh Allen things https://t.co/PxVYiLLtNn pic.twitter.com/TwLxzvuirh
— 𝙏𝙝𝙤𝙢𝙖𝙨 𝘿𝙚𝙇𝙖𝙪𝙨 (@TheThomasDeLaus) February 6, 2026
He should still be taken No. 1 overall in all two-quarterback and Superflex dynasty league startup drafts without question.
