Should I Hold Jayden Daniels for Fantasy Football? Will Jayden Daniels return and come back for fantasy football this season? Read the Jayden Daniels fantasy football injury update for Week 10 (2025).
Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels (elbow) suffered a dislocated elbow while being tackled to the ground on a rush attempt in his team's blowout loss against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 9. The gruesome-looking injury is the third he's suffered this year.
He previously missed time due to a knee sprain, which held him out in Week 3 and Week 4, and a hamstring injury, which prevented him from playing in Week 8. Daniels won't play in Week 10, and is in danger of missing much more time due to his current injury.
The sophomore campaign for the Offensive Rookie of the Year award winner in 2024 isn't off to a great start, but this all begs the question -- is he worth holding on to in fantasy football in Week 10? When will he be able to return? Let's dive in.

Jayden Daniels Injury Update
The latest reporting on his injury indicates that Daniels didn't suffer any fractures or ligament damage in the injured area of his arm. This is difficult to believe, and teams often downplay their players' injury concerns. Dislocated elbows commonly lead to ligament damage to some degree.
Still, it's a tentatively good sign for his long-term prognosis. Washington is still evaluating his injury, though, and no timetable for return has been set. Commanders head coach Dan Quinn said the team is "sorting through the medical opinions", per ESPN's John Keim.

The injury looks pretty awful in the video above. Be sure not to watch if you're squeamish. You can see the lower part of the arm pinned backwards and rotate in the wrong direction, and what appears to be his elbow joint pushing outward, though it didn't break the skin.
We really don't know when he'll be back because we haven't heard yet anything about a timetable. He hasn't been placed on injured reserve, though, so we at least know that he won't be forced to miss four games. But it would be nice to know if he'll need surgical intervention.
Should I Hold Jayden Daniels For Fantasy Football In Week 10?
It's probably a good idea as long as you have space on the bench or in your Injured Reserve slots. Daniels still has plenty of upside. He's still apt to scramble on plenty of plays and gets designed rushing work. He hasn't been quite as good this year as last, though, largely due to injuries.
Washington's top wide receiver, Terry McLaurin (quad) has made his impact on the offense known both in the games he's played and those he's missed. The passing attack has been very flat in his absence. It's clear that it's simply not the same without him on the field.

The Commanders offense has absolutely face-planted when they've tasked WR Deebo Samuel Sr. as their No. 1 wideout. They've been lucky enough to face terrible defenses in the games that Daniels has played and McLaurin has missed, but that's unlikely to hold up.
Still, McLaurin should be back by the time Daniels returns. He also wasn't placed on injured reserve, and missed four weeks with his first quad injury. Perhaps both will see the field again in Week 14, in which case both will be start-worthy.
Of course, that's the final game before the fantasy football playoffs in most leagues, so it's worth being cautious and picking up other options if you can. Quarterbacks are typically easier to find in 1QB leagues, but in 2QB leagues you might be pretty much screwed. That's how it goes, though.
Holding is likely the better option when you can, because QBs with rushing upside are typically the best in fantasy football.
