7 Dynasty Fantasy Football Trade Targets, Buy Candidates for Rebuilding Teams (2025)

Tyler Allgeier - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Dave Ventresca's top fantasy football trade targets for rebuilding dynasty teams. His top undervalued sleepers and buy candidates, including Tyler Allgeier, Zach Charbonnet, and more.

If you’ve ever played dynasty football, then you’re familiar with the general dynamics of a dynasty league. A handful of owners go into win-now mode to compete for the title, while others decide to rebuild and stock up for the future. Trading is essential if you decide to go the rebuild route.

There are several ways to go about this. One way to potentially accelerate your rebuild is by acquiring players with upside who are undervalued by your league. If you land a few of these players, you might be ready to compete sooner than you think. So, who are some players that rebuilding owners should acquire in trades? Let’s examine a few names.

Make sure you’re following RotoBaller on X and check out RotoBaller.com for all your dynasty fantasy football needs. Here are seven players rebuilding managers should acquire in their 2025 dynasty football league.

Brandon Aiyuk - WR, San Francisco 49ers

Aiyuk had a rough 2024 season. Things seemed off before the year even began when contract negotiations with San Francisco went sideways, and he was almost dealt to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Ultimately, the two sides reached an agreement, and Aiyuk remained with the team.

All of the drama might have had a negative impact, as Aiyuk failed to crack 400 receiving yards and didn't score a touchdown in 2024. His season was eventually cut short following a significant knee injury suffered in a Week 7 game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

As a result, Aiyuk is now ranked as the dynasty WR40 on KeepTradeCut. Seeing as he was ranked as high as WR12 in the weeks before the 2024 season, this feels like a big overcorrection on a player who may have been slightly overrated.

Aiyuk is still a talented player and one of the best separators in the league when healthy.

He won't be healthy to begin 2025, but he should be fully healthy again once the 2026 season begins. Seems like a pretty good timeline for a team hoping to compete a year from now.

Tyler Allgeier - RB, Atlanta Falcons

Allgeier has backed up Bijan Robinson for the last two seasons. However, many dynasty gamers have forgotten he ran for over 1,000 rushing yards as a rookie in 2022.

While he has taken a backseat to Robinson since that rookie year, Allgeier is a good back and is set to hit free agency once the 2025 season ends. He could draw some interest in the open market and might land a starting job for the 2026 season.

Allgeier’s price tag isn’t super expensive, as KeepTradeCut currently estimates his trade value as a 2026 third-round rookie pick. He’s a good trade target at this price. Gamers can also target him as a throw-in piece in a larger trade.

Trey Benson - RB, Arizona Cardinals

Benson’s rookie season was certainly disappointing. He saw limited action and only ran for 291 rushing yards and one touchdown on just 63 carries. Benson looked hesitant and indecisive whenever he touched the football. This, combined with James Conner having one of the best seasons of his career, led to Benson seeing little playing time as a rookie.

However, 2025 is a brand-new year. The Arizona coaching staff has reportedly been happy with Benson’s growth this offseason, and there are murmurs he could get a bigger slice of the pie this season. Conner will remain the team’s unquestioned RB1, but 2025 is his age-30 season, and his game could fall off a cliff at any moment.

Conner also has a lengthy injury history, so if he misses time or begins to decline, Benson will be in a position to capitalize. Arizona also failed to make any notable additions to its running back room this offseason. Even with a strong rookie running back class, the team did not add to the position in the draft. This is a good sign for Benson’s outlook and shows the team hasn’t lost faith in him yet.

Since his rookie season was so disappointing, the Benson manager in your league may have soured on him. This could be a good buying opportunity for rebuilding managers in need of running back help. It’s a gamble, but the cost of acquisition should be relatively cheap.

Zach Charbonnet - RB, Seattle Seahawks

Charbonnet is in a similar boat to Allgeier as he’s been stuck backing up Kenneth Walker III for the last two seasons. When Charbonnet has seen the field, though, he’s looked like a very capable running back.

Walker is a better back, but he’s struggled with injuries in his young career. Charbonnet could see an extended run as a starter at any point and would be a borderline RB1 candidate. Gamers could then either flip him for a profit or keep him, ride the wave, and see where it takes them.

Also of note, Walker is a free agent at the end of 2025. If he fails to take a step forward, Charbonnet may become the team's starting back in 2026. There's also still a path to Charbonnet emerging as a starter even if Walker does return to Seattle.

Charbonnet isn’t set to hit free agency until after the 2026 season, but he was a popular prospect in the 2023 NFL Draft. He could very well land a starting job down the road in free agency if he continues to play well in Walker’s absence.

Either way, Charbonnet is a good target for rebuilding managers who are a year or two away from contending. He could wind up being a valuable asset in a few years.

Ben Sinnott - TE, Washington Commanders

There was nothing good to say about Sinnott’s rookie year. He struggled to see consistent playing time behind Zach Ertz and only posted a 5-28-1 line on five targets.

This was not the start Sinnott owners wanted to see. However, it’s not necessarily a reason to throw in the towel on him. It can take tight ends a few years to find their footing before breaking out. Travis Kelce didn’t record a catch in his rookie year, and Trey McBride struggled to see the field behind Ertz during his rookie season as well.

Whether or not Sinnott follows in their footsteps is completely up in the air, but we are only one year removed from Sinnott being a second-round pick. There’s still some hope he could become a viable tight end.

At this time, the 2026 tight end class does not look like a particularly elite group, so rebuilding managers should check in with the Sinnott manager in their league. It’s worth a shot to buy low on Sinnott to see if he shows some signs of life in 2025.

Chris Olave - WR, New Orleans Saints

While Olave was a popular breakout pick last year, his 2024 season was far from it. Olave had his worst season as a professional and only posted a 32-400-1 line across eight games. Part of the issue was that he sustained two concussions last year that forced him to miss nine games. This is a bit troubling as these head injuries marked the fourth and fifth documented concussions of Olave's playing career.

Fortunately, Olave is reportedly healthy entering the 2025 season. Dynasty gamers don't seem enthused by this news, as Olave is currently the WR32 according to KeepTradeCut. This is down from a WR10 ranking in July of 2024. The market is worried about his concussion history. The Saints' current quarterback situation is also driving down Olave's value.

While these are legitimate concerns, it's important to remember that Olave is still a very talented player. He's an all-around receiver and one of the better separators in the league.

If someone in your league is willing to sell Olave, work a deal to get him on your roster. There's a lot of uncertainty surrounding him, and we probably won't get a great return on investment in 2025. However, that is not an issue for gamers who aren't expecting to compete in 2025.

Plus, New Orleans will probably be in the market for a quarterback in the 2026 NFL Draft. The 2026 quarterback class is supposedly loaded with talent, so Olave could eventually get a nice quarterback upgrade.

This is the perfect time to fade the market, buy the dip, and take a chance on a highly talented player. If you're right, it's the kind of move that can accelerate your rebuild. If you're wrong, then you're in the same spot you're in now. Seems like a no-brainer to buy low on Olave.

Rome Odunze - WR, Chicago Bears

Odunze is now considered a popular bust candidate due to his poor rookie season in 2024. However, this is not entirely fair as Chicago’s offense in 2024 was a total train wreck.

While it's fair to be concerned, this is still a player with top-10 draft capital who knows how to get open.

There are dynasty managers out there who are panic-selling Odunze following his rookie year and the Bears' additions of Colston Loveland and Luther Burden III. Check in with the Odunze manager in your league. If they're looking to sell Oduzne, try to work a deal and get him on your team. It's a great opportunity to buy a potential WR1 at a friendly price.
