Charlie Condon Out At Least Six Weeks With Broken Wrist
The Denver Post's Patrick Saunders reports that Colorado Rockies third base/outfield prospect Charlie Condon (wrist), who was selected third overall in last year's draft, was diagnosed with a non-displaced left-wrist fracture and will be out at least six weeks. Condon injured his wrist on Tuesday in his first minor-league game of spring training against the Athletics when he tried to make a diving catch. On the bright side, he didn't suffer any ligament damage, and surgery won't be required. The 21-year-old will wear a splint for four weeks and then start strengthening his wrist. It's a tough break for Condon, who struggled to a .180/.248/.270 slash line with a homer, 11 RBI and four steals in 25 games for High-A Spokane last year after he was drafted. However, he also played most of those games with a bone spur on his right ring finger. When Condon recovers, he's expected to spend all of 2025 developing in the minors.
