MLB Pitcher Prop Bets - Today's Betting Picks

Shane McClanahan OVER 6.5 strikeouts (-116 FanDuel Sportsbook)

McClanahan will take the hill on seven days' rest Friday, as his turn was pushed back a couple of days due to back tightness. All reports are McClanahan is ready to go, and with a couple of extra days of rest on his talented left arm, he could be even more effective than usual.

The opponent could certainly also help in that regard, as the Mariners are stuck in an offensive funk and have also struck out at an AL-high 28.3 percent clip versus left-handers in the last month. Meanwhile, McClanahan has already recorded at least seven strikeouts on seven occasions and fallen just short in three other instances with six.

McClanahan also boasts an elite 15.7 percent swinging strike rate and Seattle has a 25.4 percent strikeout rate at home this season, giving this prop even more legs.

Graham Ashcraft OVER 5.5 hits allowed   (-125 BetMGM SportsBook)

Ashcraft has been pitching to contact all season, surrendering 85 hits over just 69 innings. The young righty has given up at least six hits in eight of 14 starts, and he's found his home field of Great American Ballpark to be an absolute nightmare.

Ashcraft has pitched to a 9.17 ERA and 1.82 WHIP in 36.1 home frames, surrendering 49 hits in 36.1 innings there. He's also facing a potent foe in the Padres, which have a near-equal amount of righty- and lefty-swinging batters, giving them the weaponry they need to feast on a pitcher that's had trouble with both handedness of hitter.

San Diego checks in with a solid .265 average and .327 wOBA against righties on the road in June while striking out a modest 20.5 percent of the time in that split, which also boosts the chances of this prop hitting.

MLB Hitter Prop Bets - Today's Betting Picks

Ezequiel Duran To Record An RBI (+150 FanDuel SportsBook)

There's no shortage of choices when considering props on Rangers hitters, and Duran may not have the same cache as Corey Seager, Josh Jung, Marcus Semien or Adolis Garcia. However, his numbers certainly aren't a reason, as the young shortstop boasts a .322 average and .919 OPS over 61 games.

Duran has been excellent against pitchers of either handedness, and he's been especially lethal versus right-handed pitching at home with a .373 average, 1.045 OPS, .444 wOBA and 8.2 wRAA in that split. He'll draw a good matchup to start the game Friday night, as Astros starter Ronel Blanco has surrendered a .300 average, .884 OPS and .381 wOBA to right-handed hitters.

Because of the aforementioned talent that surrounds him in the Rangers lineup, Duran's .370 average with men on base, and Texas' projected run total of 5.1, he should have a solid chance of driving in at least one run.

Andrew McCutchen  OVER 0.5 Singles (+115 Bet365 Sportsbook) OR At Least 2 Hits (+330 FanDuel Sportsbook)

McCutchen is enjoying quite the resurgent season in his return to Pittsburgh, as he boasts a .277 average and .824 OPS overall, with the former figure climbing to .296 at home. The veteran outfielder has also thrived against Friday's Brewers starter Freddy Peralta, who he's punished for a .667 average over six career plate appearances.

McCutchen has been at his best against right-handers at home, where he owns a .350 average, .948 OPS and .414 wOBA, along with a 39.3 percent hard-contact rate. Meanwhile, Peralta has had plenty of trouble against right-handed hitters on the road, giving up a .333 average, 1.004 OPS, .429 wOBA and 2.8 HR/9 in that split.

McCutchen has 17 multi-hit efforts on the season thus far, with five of those coming in what has been a productive June.  Therefore, both these props are in play, with those that possess a bit more risk tolerance having the option to nearly triple their potential return by going with the second one.

Luis Robert Jr. Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI (-155 DraftKings Sportsbook)

Robert has been on quite the tear of late, hitting safely in 10 of his last 11 starts and collecting 35 total hits, runs and RBI in that stretch. The Cuban slugger has been at his best batting average-wise against left-handed pitching, but he's made plenty of hard contact against righties as evidenced by his .521 slugging percentage and .273 ISO in that split.

Athletics starter Luis Medina makes for a good target, as he's allowed a .291 average and .409 wOBA to right-handed hitters. He also has been prone to put on plenty of righty batters via walk, as evidenced by his 4.9 BB/9 in that split.

Robert could naturally cash this prop with a single swing, as he's frequently done over his last 15 games by belting eight homers in that stretch. Robert has averaged nearly three Hits + Runs + RBI per game in that sample, and given the vulnerabilities of both Medina and the Athletics bullpen (6.96 ERA, .311 BAA, .366 wOBA against right-handed hitters in last 2 weeks), he's a good bet to do it again.
