Khamzat Chimaev Suffers his First Loss
Khamzat Chimaev was set for his first title defense, but unfortunately for Chimaev, he lost the belt and suffered a split-decision loss to Sean Strickland in the main event of UFC 328 on Saturday. Chimaev had a dominant first round, but it seemed that he got tired in the second round. The fight was extremely close, and it all came down to the final round. In the final round, Chimaev was pressuring Strickland constantly, but Strickland did a bit more damage and was landing jabs at will. In 25 minutes of action, Chimaev landed nine takedowns and 98 significant strikes. After the fight, Chimaev expressed interest in moving up a weight class.
