Yesterday's Studs and Duds: Fantasy Baseball Recap from 6/11/16

Every day, we will be taking a quick look at the best and worst fantasy baseball performers from yesterday's games. Saturday was a letdown if you had guys like Aaron Nola going, whereas usual suspects Manny Machado and Kris Bryant tore it up.

Here's a quick rundown of those who impressed on Saturday, and those who want to pretend the game never happened.

Studs from 6/11/16

Danny Duffy (KC, SP/RP): Duffy was dominant on Saturday. He's always had the stuff, but he's finally putting things together as he's strung together a couple of very impressive starts. Against the White Sox, Duffy tossed six innings of shutout baseball and struck out 10. Grab him NOW.

Carlos Gonzalez (COL, OF): CarGo unloaded on a pitch for a three-run jack in Saturday's contest. He'd go 2-for-4 on the afternoon and continues a strong season for the Rox.

Kris Bryant (CHC, 3B/OF): They grow up so fast. The uber prospect has become a stud in no time flat. Bryant connected on his 15th homer of the season Saturday, and is a force to be reckoned with.

Ryan Braun (MIL, OF): Ryan Braun tormented Mets pitching on Saturday the way Lloyd Braun tormented George Costanza on Seinfeld. Braun homered twice, both were solo shots, and he'd go 2-for-4 on the afternoon.

Ian Kinsler (DET, 2B): Kinsler was responsible for five of the six runs Detroit scored against the Yankees on Saturday. First, Kinsler hit a three-run blast, and then followed it up with a two-run double. The Yankees will love to see him leave town.

Rougned Odor (TEX, 2B): What's that smell? It's Odor going 3-for-5 with a solo shot. See, he can hit balls as hard as he hit Jose Bautista.

Xander Bogaerts (BOS, SS/3B): Bogey went 4-for-5 on Saturday with an RBI double and a two-run shot. Oh, and he scored four runs on the day. I hate to admit it but he's a stud.

Michael Saunders (OF, TOR): Saunders went 3-for-4 with a solo shot and a sac fly. He's not running much, but he can hit for power. He has value in that Blue Jay lineup.

Jackie Bradley Jr. (BOS, OF): Well his streak may be over, but he can still rake. JBJ went 2-for-4 with a three-run blast in Boston's 15-4 rout of the Twins.

Colby Lewis (SP, TEX): Lewis hurled eight strong innings against the M's, allowing only one earned run. He didn't get the win, but it was an impressive performance nonetheless.

Manny Machado (3B, BAL): No surprise here as Machado may end up being the fantasy MVP, but he went 3-for-5 on Saturday. Machado crushed a homer and scored three runs.

Jake Arrieta (SP, CHC): Another day, another win for Arrieta. Seven innings pitched, two earned, WHIP under one. Yeah, sounds about right. The strikeouts were a bit lot, but the wins make up for it.

Duds from 6/11/16

Aaron Nola (SP, PHI): Things didn't not go well for Nola against the Nationals on Saturday. The studly righty, was hit hard by Washington. Nola gave up four earned on seven hits, and walked one in 3.2 IP. No worries though as better days are in the cards for Nola.

Logan Forsythe (TB, 1B/2B): Forsythe had a forgettable game on Saturday, going 0-for-4 against the Astros. A day after going 2-for-4 fresh off his DL stint, Forsythe would disappoint fantasy owners with a hitless performance.

Matt Wisler (ATL, SP): The downward spiral continues for Wisler, who got beat up by the Cubs on Saturday. To be fair, it's a tough matchup. Regression was a long time coming though, and a four inning performance with five earned runs on seven hits is the result. Three of those hits were homers.

Logan Verrett (NYM, SP/RP): Making a spot start for the Mets on Saturday, Verrett struggled mightily against the Brewers. He only managed to toss four innings of five-run ball, where he'd give up three long balls. Verrett walked four and just struggled with command all game.

Eduardo Rodriguez (BOS, SP): The young lefty struggled against the Twins on Saturday, which is pretty disappointing. 4.2 innings of four-run ball, in which he gave up six hits and walked four. Definitely a dud of an outing.

T.J. McFarland (BAL, RP): T.J. looked more like Seth MacFarlane out there because his performance was comical. He gave up five earned on as many hits in two innings of work. Ouch.

Kyle Gibson (SP, MIN): Gibson stood on the tracks as the BoSox train came through. He gave up five earned on seven hits in 5.2 innings of work. It would only get worse from there as the Sox would score nine more runs against the pen.

Erik Johnson (SD, SP): New team, same results. Johnson was on the road at Coors, so that didn't help matters at all. Even so, it was a real clunker of a performance by the lefty. Five earned on nine hits and two walks in 4.2 IP.

Masahiro Tanaka (NYY, SP): Tanaka was unable to tame the Tigers Saturday, giving up five earned in his 6.1 innings of work. His control wasn't off, he was just around the plate too much as he gave up two homers. He'll look to rebound next time.

Kenley Jansen (LAD, RP): Jansen tried to slam the door on the Giants, but instead got slammed himself. Two earned, four hits and a blown save as San Francisco walked off in the ninth.
