Lendon Phillips Jr. a Big-Impact Newcomer for Iowa?
Iowa running back Lendon Phillips Jr., who transferred from South Dakota State this offseason, is expected to make an immediate impact for the Hawkeyes in 2026. Iowa is known for having a strong ground game to complement its fierce defense, which should allow Phillips, who tallied 1,920 rushing yards and 20 total touchdowns last season, a chance to flash. Phillips also has pass-catching chops, arriving at the program with 28 receptions for 195 yards. Iowa's offensive woes have prevented it from seriously competing in the Big Ten, but playmakers from the portal could give the Hawkeyes a chance to turn things around and stun some of the conference's elite teams on their schedule.
