Fan-favorite Carlos Prates extended his win streak by defeating former welterweight champion Jack Della Maddalena via third-round TKO in the main event of UFC Perth on Saturday. Prates completely dominated Della Maddalena in this fight. In the opening round, Prates alternated between landing punches and kicks to his lead leg, and eventually, he started landing knees on Della Maddalena's face. Prates dropped Della Maddalena with a calf kick late in the second round and knocked him down three more times in the third before the referee stopped the fight. In 13:17 of action, Prates landed 104 significant strikes. By beating Della Maddalena, Prates has effectively inserted himself as the next title contender.--Alen Kurbasic
