Needless to say, there is a lot to sort out at the WR spot ahead of fantasy football rookie drafts. The early-round picks are clearly the top targets and have the highest ceilings, but which later-round picks are sneaky dart throws? We're here to help with our updated 2026 fantasy football rookie wide receiver rankings.
These updated 2026 rookie WR rankings are put together by Matt Donnelly, Phil Clark, Jackson Sparks, and Andrew Lalama. 2026 Fantasy Football Rookie Wide Receiver Outlooks
Carnell Tate, Tennessee Titans
Tennessee Titans rookie wide receiver Carnell Tate has the potential to emerge as the team's top option in the passing game rather quickly. The Titans selected Tate with the fourth overall pick in the NFL Draft on Thursday night, making him the first wide receiver off the board. It was a somewhat aggressive pick for a team that already has Wan'Dale Robinson, Elic Ayomanor, Chimere Dike, and Calvin Ridley.
On the other hand, none of those four receivers are flashy alpha options in the passing game, whereas Tate has the opportunity to be an alpha receiver early in his rookie season. After all, he had 51 catches, 875 yards, and nine touchdowns at Ohio State last year. He offers a flashy, young pass-catching option for second-year quarterback Cameron Ward. Tate should have a large role from Day 1, ranking as a top-24 receiver in redraft leagues and a fringe top-12 receiver in dynasty formats.
Makai Lemon, Philadelphia Eagles
When the Philadelphia Eagles traded up to select USC wide receiver Makai Lemon with the 20th pick of the 2026 NFL Draft, they got a player who spent his final collegiate season as the unquestioned alpha in Lincoln Riley's pass-heavy Trojans offense. In his Biletnikoff Award-winning season, Lemon earned a 26.8% target share, even while taking the field with another early NFL pick in Ja'Kobi Lane, who the Baltimore Ravens selected in the third round on Day 2. Moving to the next level, Lemon is unlikely to see that sort of opportunity as a rookie.
The Eagles threw the ball at the sixth-lowest rate in the league in 2025 and were one of only nine teams with fewer than 500 total pass attempts. While the presumed trade of three-time Pro Bowl receiver A.J. Brown will open up 127 targets from 2025, the Eagles have revamped their receiver room on the fly, adding Marquise Brown and Dontayvion Wicks through free agency and trade, and after drafting Lemon on Day 1, they added the pass-catching tight end Eli Stowers in the second round.
Incumbent receiver DeVonta Smith is still the safest bet to lead the team in targets in 2026, but Lemon represents his most significant competition both long-term and in the here and now. Given their complementary skill sets, it's possible that Smith and Lemon could form a new one-two punch in Philadelphia, with the rest of the new additions settling into more periphery supporting roles, which would still make Lemon one of the most valuable selections in dynasty rookie drafts.
KC Concepcion, Cleveland Browns
Cleveland Browns wide receiver KC Concepcion has been on the team for less than 48 hours, and he's already facing competition on the depth chart. The Browns selected Concepcion, a Texas A&M product, with the 24th overall pick, suggesting that he had a strong chance to open the year as the team's No. 1 receiver over Jerry Jeudy. That remains true, but his projected target share was scaled back a little after the Browns also drafted Washington's Denzel Boston.
The 39th overall pick, Boston's draft capital is also significant enough that he should see a meaningful snap and target share early in the season. In fact, entering the draft, Boston (#34) ranked three spots higher than Concepcion (#37) in RotoBaller's dynasty fantasy football rankings. There's a realistic scenario in which both Concepcion and Boston flourish, especially with how poorly Jeudy has played in past years. Still, any chance of the former Aggie being a standalone alpha in this receiver room has likely faded away.
Antonio Williams, Washington Commanders
Washington Commanders wide receiver Antonio Williams didn't hear his name called until the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft, but he could still have a starting role as early as Week 1. The Clemson product had 130 catches, 1,508 yards, and 15 touchdowns over his last two seasons at school. Now, he immediately projects as the Commanders' No. 2 receiver behind Terry McLaurin.
That's good enough to get him into the starting lineup right away, assuming Washington doesn't make any other big additions at the position. There's still a chance they could go out and acquire someone like Brandon Aiyuk, but for now, all signs point to Williams having a significant role. Third-round draft capital doesn't usually translate to first-year success in fantasy football, but there are exceptions, especially for receivers with as much projected volume as Williams.
Chris Brazell II, Carolina Panthers
The Carolina Panthers have selected University of Tennessee wide receiver Chris Brazzell II with the 83rd overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-4 pass catcher opened his collegiate career at Tulane before transferring to Tennessee. In 12 games last season, he caught 62 passes for 1,017 yards and an SEC-leading nine touchdowns.
Brazzell was a vertical receiver who stretched the field at school, but he's capable of flashing versatility and occupying a variety of roles. That will fit nicely in a Carolina receiver room that already features Tetairoa McMillan, Jalen Coker, and Xavier Legette. Brazzell might not have fantasy relevance as soon as Week 1 in his rookie season, but there's plenty of long-term upside here. He ranks as the WR68 in RotoBaller's latest dynasty fantasy football rankings.
Germie Bernard, Pittsburgh Steelers
The Pittsburgh Steelers have traded up to pick 47 to select University of Alabama wide receiver Germie Bernard. Per NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, the Steelers are trading picks 53, 135, and 237 to the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for picks 47 and 249. Across 14 games with the Crimson Tide in 2025, Bernard hauled in 64 receptions for 862 yards and seven touchdowns. He also rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries, so he could bring some dual-threat appeal for fantasy managers in 2026 and beyond.
The Steelers have wide receivers DK Metcalf and Michael Pittman Jr. firmly atop their depth chart at the position. However, Bernard could be in a position to earn the team's WR3 role right away. If veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers does eventually return to Pittsburgh, Bernard's run-after-catch ability could lead to him seeing plenty of short-area targets.
