3 Fantasy Football Quarterbacks To Sell In Dynasty Leagues (2026)

Patrick Mahomes - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL DFS

Joey recommends three dynasty fantasy football quarterbacks to sell during the 2026 offseason. His quarterback sells include Patrick Mahomes, Baker Mayfield, and more.

One of the best things about dynasty fantasy football leagues is that managers can play year-round. With the 2025 fantasy football season officially over, now is the perfect time to start making moves to improve your dynasty team for 2026 and beyond.

In this article, we'll go through three quarterbacks dynasty managers should be looking to sell this offseason. The first quarterback is coming off a strong year, the second quarterback saw his numbers regress from 2024, and the third quarterback is trending down following a poor season.

So, which three quarterbacks are sells in dynasty fantasy football leagues heading into the 2026 offseason? Let's dive in and find out.

Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes had one of his best fantasy seasons in 2025. He averaged 21.1 fantasy points per game, topped 23 fantasy points in seven of the first eight weeks, and improved his rushing numbers across the board. The two-time MVP ran for a career-high 422 yards and five touchdowns in just 14 games.

Mahomes was really one of the top fantasy quarterbacks throughout the 2025 season. He was the QB2 in total points scored through 14 weeks and finished as a top-12 fantasy quarterback in nine different games. His strong passing numbers, mixed with his improved rushing, helped him emerge as one of the best options at the position again.

Despite that strong season, it might be time to trade away Mahomes in some dynasty fantasy football leagues.

Seeing the Chiefs quarterback on this list might draw some dynasty managers by surprise because there's no doubt that Mahomes is capable of having more fantasy success in the future. He is arguably the best quarterback in football and could realistically play another eight to 10 more seasons in the NFL.

However, if someone in your dynasty league is willing to pay a premium for Mahomes, it's not a bad idea to sell him. Although he ranked as the QB4 in fantasy points per game in 2025, he hasn't exactly been a consistent QB1 option in recent years. He finished as the overall QB8 in 2023 and the overall QB11 in 2024.

Dynasty owners could also expect Mahomes' rushing numbers to dip in 2026 and potentially beyond. The 30-year-old just tore his ACL in a Week 15 game against the Los Angeles Chargers, and it usually takes some time to regain full strength and speed. Just look at Kyler Murray, whose rushing numbers have been down since he tore his ACL in 2022.

By the time Mahomes returns to full strength, the Chiefs quarterback could already be 32 years old. He has never really been known as a rusher in his career, and his strong rushing numbers in 2025 might have just been a one-year thing. So, there's a real possibility that his best rushing days are behind him.

With only one top-3 quarterback fantasy finish since 2019, it's clear that Mahomes is a better real-life player than fantasy player. That makes him a prime sell candidate right now. The six-time Pro Bowler has seen his dynasty value go down over the past few weeks, as he comes in as the overall QB8 on KTC's latest dynasty rankings.

Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield was expected to regress last season. After a career year in 2024 in which he threw for 4,500 yards and 41 touchdowns, repeating that was unlikely. His offensive coordinator, Liam Coen, left for the Jacksonville Jaguars head coach job, and Mayfield's 7.2% touchdown rate was unsustainable.

Therefore, it wasn't a real surprise to see Mayfield struggle to be a consistent QB1 option throughout the 2025 season. He only finished as a top-12 fantasy quarterback in eight of 17 games, and his overall QB12 finish was his worst fantasy finish with the Buccaneers. His 16.8 fantasy points per game also ranked as the QB16 at the position.

There was a lot that went into Mayfield's down fantasy year. He appeared to be battling a shoulder injury for most of the year, and both Mike Evans and Chris Godwin Jr. missed time due to injuries. While those things did contribute to Mayfield's QB16 fantasy point average, his fantasy value moving forward is closer to his 2025 season than his 2024 season.

That means Mayfield is a sell heading into the offseason. He took a step back as a passer last year -- ranking 22nd in true passer rating, fifth in danger throws, 10th in interceptable passes, and 30th in true completion percentage among all quarterbacks -- and it's hard to imagine another top-7 fantasy season from the Buccaneers signal-caller.

He'd likely need to throw for over 4,200 yards and 35 touchdowns even to have a shot at another top-7 fantasy finish. Even though his rushing numbers have been up over the past two years, all his rushing comes from scrambles outside the pocket. Mayfield ranked 33rd in design runs per game, 28th in carries per game, and rushed for only one touchdown last year.

That’s enough reason to sell Mayfield in most dynasty leagues. Another top-5 fantasy finish is unlikely, and his dynasty value has recently dropped. He ranks as QB18 on KTC’s latest dynasty rankings, behind Cam Ward (QB17), Dak Prescott (QB16), and Jordan Love (QB14).

C.J. Stroud, Houston Texans

It might be hard to trade Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud in dynasty leagues following an abysmal showing in the postseason. He coughed up the ball three times (one interception and two fumbles) against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Wild Card Round. Then, he threw four interceptions against the New England Patriots in the Divisional Round.

However, it might just be time to trade him for whatever you can get at this point.

After finishing as the overall QB11 as a rookie in 2023, things have gone downhill fast for the former Ohio State quarterback. In each of the last two seasons, Stroud has not been startable in most leagues. He averaged just 14.1 fantasy points per game in 2024 and 15.3 fantasy points per game in 2025. In both of those campaigns, he finished outside the top 20 at the QB position in terms of fantasy points per game.

Given Stroud’s poor fantasy performances this past season, it's best to move off him in dynasty. He finished as a top-12 fantasy QB in just four of his 14 games, and his lack of rushing gives him a much lower floor than most other quarterbacks. Stroud has rushed for under 250 yards in each of his first three NFL seasons.

Not only will he never rush for a ton of yards, but his passing numbers haven't exactly been great, either. Stroud has not thrown for more than 23 touchdowns in a season in his career and ranked 24th among all quarterbacks in fantasy points per dropback last year.

With so much going wrong for Stroud lately, he is a major sell ahead of the 2026 season. He will likely never be a top fantasy quarterback, and there is a world where he could eventually lose his starting job in Houston. So, see what you can get for the young quarterback. Chances are that somebody in your league will take a shot on him.
