Fantasy Football Playoffs Running Back Rankings Outlooks

Jonathan Taylor, Indianapolis Colts

Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor is expected to see a "heavy dose" of work in the coming weeks after starting quarterback Daniel Jones (Achilles) tore his Achilles in the Week 14 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Taylor, who is currently second in the league with 282 total touches, will have an even bigger workload as the Colts look to take some pressure off of 44-year-old quarterback Philip Rivers, who will be expected to start for the Colts sooner rather than later.

The superstar running back has slowed down from his torrid early-season pace over the past three games, handling 58 carries for 217 yards and a touchdown with five receptions (eight targets) for 44 yards as a receiver. It remains to be seen if Taylor will be taking hand-offs from Rivers or Brett Rypien in Week 15, but he'll look to get back on track in a tough matchup on the road against the Seattle Seahawks.

Bijan Robinson, Atlanta Falcons

Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson rushed 20 times for 86 yards in Sunday's 37-9 loss to the Seahawks, adding two catches for eight yards. While it was a solid effort, the team was unable to record a single touchdown in the contest, leaving Robinson well outside the RB2 ranks for the week. With Kirk Cousins playing mediocre football right now, and with Tyler Allgeier eating into Robinson's red zone opportunities, the 23-year-old has been less consistent than he was earlier in the season.

Nevertheless, he's talented enough to bust loose at any moment, as he had done the week prior (193 total yards, one touchdown), and season-long fantasy managers will need to continue to plug in the former first-rounder as the fantasy playoffs descend on many leagues this week. Week 15 brings a Thursday night matchup against a pretty stout Buccaneers rush defense, which held the third-year pro to his lowest rushing output of the season way back in Week 1, but Robinson also managed to rack up 100 yards through the air in that game. He'll still likely be an RB1 for this week's matchup.

Rachaad White, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Rachaad White was dropped in a lot of fantasy leagues when backfield mate Bucky Irving returned in last week's win over the Arizona Cardinals. With Irving back in the fold, White played only 38% of the offensive snaps in Week 13, his lowest number since Week 3. The 26-year-old had only two carries for seven yards against Arizona and caught all three of his targets for 22 yards. However, White was more involved in the upset loss to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, playing 49% of the snaps while seeing 11 rushing attempts for 53 yards.

He caught one pass for a two-yard gain. Irving had four more carries than White, but White was more effective, averaging 4.8 yards per carry. No. 3 back Sean Tucker saw seven carries for 29 yards. White will still be involved in Tampa's backfield and appears to be the RB2, but his limited opportunities in the passing game now make him mostly a bench stash in fantasy leagues as long as Irving stays healthy the rest of the way.

Kyle Monangai, Chicago Bears

Chicago Bears running back Kyle Monangai is getting enough work to be a solid pickup from the waiver wire if you need running back help this week. Against the Packers in Week 14, Monangai played 29 snaps (41%) and finished with a team-high 14 carries for 57 yards while adding one catch for no yards as well. He didn't find the end zone this week, snapping a four-game scoring streak. He has gotten double-digit carries in four straight games and is splitting work just about evenly with starting running back D'Andre Swift.

Monangai and the Bears face a tough Browns defense this week, but Tony Pollard just had a huge game against them last week, so there's still enough upside in playing Monangai that he should be owned in almost all formats as one of the top second running backs in the league.

Kenneth Gainwell, Pittsburgh Steelers

Across 13 games this season, Pittsburgh Steelers running back Kenneth Gainwell has recorded 657 scrimmage yards and six touchdowns on 130 touches. The 26-year-old has recorded just 35 rushing yards over the last two weeks, and he's been held to rushing yards or less in five out of his last six games. However, Gainwell has emerged as a safety blanket for Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers in the passing game. Over the last four weeks, Gainwell has hauled in 21 receptions for 163 yards and two touchdowns on 24 targets.

Pittsburgh is splitting backfield snaps between Gainwell and Jaylen Warren, which limits the upside of both players. Still, Gainwell's role as a receiver makes him a viable flex option for fantasy managers. Heading into his Week 15 matchup against the Miami Dolphins, Gainwell is worth rostering in PPR leagues with 10 or more teams.

Devin Singletary, New York Giants

In his last game before his team's Week 14 bye, New York Giants running back Devin Singletary recorded 102 scrimmage yards and a touchdown on 15 touches against the New England Patriots. Heading into his Week 15 matchup against the Washington Commanders, Singletary has recorded double-digit touches in five straight games.

With Giants running back Cam Skattebo (ankle) on Injured Reserve, Singletary and Tyrone Tracy Jr. (hip) have been splitting backfield work in New York. Tracy Jr. suffered a hip injury in Week 13 against New England that forced him to leave the game early, but it's not expected to lead to missed time. Still, the Giants could limit Tracy Jr.'s usage, which would mean more touches for Singletary. In fantasy leagues with 10 or more teams, Singletary is worth targeting on the waiver wire heading into Week 15.
