Fantasy Football Playoffs Quarterback Rankings Outlooks
Philip Rivers, Indianapolis Colts
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Philip Rivers has a "very real chance" of starting versus the Seattle Seahawks in Week 15 after a crazy turn of events for the Colts in Week 14, when Daniel Jones (Achilles) and Riley Leonard (knee) both got injured, leaving the Colts with no options at the quarterback position. Additionally, Anthony Richardson (eye) is on Injured Reserve. Jones is out for the year, and Leonard appears to be in danger of missing Week 15, although nothing is confirmed.
Regardless, that leaves a 44-year-old man Rivers signing with the practice squad earlier this week after a successful workout with the organization on Monday, and according to NFL Insider Ian Rapaport, Rivers has a "real chance" at starting on Sunday. Rivers' final season was in 2020, where he threw for 4,169 passing yards with 24 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Ultimately, fantasy managers need to stay away from this situation, as most Week 15 managers are in the fantasy playoffs, and he won't even be a decent QB2 start in superflex leagues.
C.J. Stroud, Houston Texans
Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud has been solid in two games since returning from a three-game absence due to a concussion. Week 14 against the Kansas City Chiefs wasn't his cleanest performance statistically, as he completed just 48.4% of his passes, but he made plays for the Texans when he needed to. Before his head injury in Week 9 against Denver, the 24-year-old signal-caller was starting to get into a rhythm. In Weeks 4-8, Stroud completed 68.5% of his passes for 1,024 yards with nine touchdowns and two interceptions while adding 96 yards on 14 carries on the ground over four games.
He averaged 21.1 fantasy points per game during that span, ranking as the QB9. Overall, the Texans' offense hasn't been efficient enough to support multiple reliable contributors in fantasy this season. Stroud profiles as a mid-range QB2 option in Week 15 against the Arizona Cardinals.
Aaron Rodgers, Pittsburgh Steelers
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers finally found some success through the air during last week's win over the Baltimore Ravens. Rodgers threw for 284 yards with one touchdown, which was good enough for top-10 QB value in Week 14. He also had a rushing TD. Before that, Rodgers was held to under 240 passing yards in his previous five contests. The expectation is that Rodgers will continue having success this weekend, assuming the Steelers remain aggressive through the air.
He'll draw a favorable matchup against a Miami Dolphins defense that ranks 21st in fantasy points allowed to QBs. Rodgers isn't an elite option, but he should offer more streaming value than usual in Week 15. He's certainly worth a look in two-quarterback leagues, at a minimum.
Sam Darnold, Seattle Seahawks
Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold has had his share of ups and downs in his first year in Seattle, but overall, it's been another strong season while leading the Seahawks to a 10-3 record going into Week 15 action. Darnold had a disastrous four-interception game in the loss to the Rams on Nov. 16 and also failed to throw a touchdown in last week's shutout win over the Vikings. The 28-year-old bounced back in Sunday's 37-9 rout of the Falcons, though, going 20-for-30 for 249 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception while adding 23 rushing yards on three carries.
Darnold has a 22:11 TD:INT ratio in 13 games in 2025 and ranks as the QB19 in fantasy points per game. Overall, he's the QB14, and he'll be a high-end QB2 for fantasy managers in the first week of the playoffs in most leagues. Darnold will be facing a fading Colts team that has allowed the fourth-most passing yards per game (246.3). He's rostered in only 54% of Yahoo leagues.
Jacoby Brissett, Arizona Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals offense has been much more productive with quarterback Jacoby Brissett under center since Kyler Murray (foot) went down with a sprained foot back in Week 5. In terms of fantasy points per game, Brissett ranks as the QB16 in his 10 games played, with 2,459 passing yards, 15 touchdowns, and five interceptions on 346 attempts. Overall, he ranks as the QB20 in only 10 games played in 2025. In the blowout loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, the 32-year-old veteran went 25-for-44 for 271 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception while adding 22 rushing yards on four carries.
Brissett has had at least 258 passing yards and two touchdowns in all eight of his starts, and he's tossed exactly two TDs in all but one of his starts. Before Week 14, Brissett had a three-game streak of at least 301 passing yards. He has become a strong QB2 streamer for his volume -- he's attempted 40-plus passes in five straight games -- although a Week 15 date with the Texans and their No. 1 defense will certainly be a challenge.
Bryce Young, Carolina Panthers
Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young had his most efficient game of the season before the bye against the Los Angeles Rams. He completed 15 of 20 passes for 206 yards and three touchdowns while adding five carries for 23 yards as a runner in the upset win. Young will be looking to put together a consistent stretch of quality games, something he has struggled with this season and throughout his career.
Notably, in the week after his career-high 448 passing yards in Week 11 against the Atlanta Falcons, he followed it up with two interceptions and only 169 passing yards against the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football. The 2023 No. 1 overall pick still sits as a low-end QB2 most weeks, and he has a tough matchup in Week 15 against a New Orleans Saints defense that hasn't allowed a 200-yard passer in four straight games.
Tyler Shough, New Orleans Saints
New Orleans Saints rookie quarterback Tyler Shough rushed for two touchdowns in Sunday's 24-20 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and completed 13 of 20 passes for 144 yards with an interception while adding seven carries for 55 yards. It wasn't Shough's best day as a passer, but he made some big-time plays with his legs, including a 34-yard score in the third quarter, before adding a 13-yard rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter to give the Saints the lead for good.
The rookie second-rounder has shown real flashes in his five starts and firmly belongs in the QB2 discussion moving forward for fantasy football. In Week 15, the 26-year-old faces a Carolina Panthers team that he already beat back in Week 10, when he completed 19 of 27 passes for 282 yards and two touchdowns. It may not be as easy the second time he faces them, but Shough is worth adding and starting in superflex formats.
