Terique Owens Catches Touchdown Pass in Win
Terique Owens contributed to the 49ers' 30-23 win over the Chargers on Saturday with a 22-yard touchdown reception. It was his only catch of the game and just his second of the preseason. Owens, son of former 49er and five-time All-Pro Terrell Owens, was signed by the team as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2024 but was injured in the preseason and, after recovering, spent the season on the practice squad. The 25-year-old has been buried on the preseason depth chart, and his prospects worsened with the acquisition of Skyy Moore earlier this week. Even with the injuries to some of the other players in San Francisco's wide receiver room, it would be a surprise if Owens sticks around after the team finalizes its 53-man roster on August 26.
