Cole Kmet fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 9 (2024). Should you start or sit Cole Kmet for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Sit
POSITIONAL VALUE: TE2
ANALYSIS: And just like that, a disappearing act from another TE. Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet was targeted just one time in his Week 8 game against the Washington Commanders, catching the pass for 14 yards, and caught a two point conversion attempt. It's not entirely his fault (well, not really at all).
Cole Kmet was a stud the last few games so naturally Waldron spent the last two weeks thinking about how to work Gerald Everett back into the mix.#Bears

For starters, offensive coordinator Shane Waldron is intent on getting fellow TE Gerald Everett involved in the game. The reasons for this may be a mystery to anyone who follows football, but this essentially tanks Kmet's fantasy value.
It also didn't help that his quarterback, Caleb Williams, was only able to muster 131 passing yards on the day. The Bears offense wants to spread the passes around to WRs D.J. Moore, Keenan Allen, Rome Odunze, TEs Everett and Kmet, and RB D'Andre Swift. That's not about to lead to productive fantasy days for each.
Against solid defenses, then entire Bears offense has been folding, and that's bad news for No. 85. They face the Arizona Cardinals in Week 9, so you're hoping for a much softer matchup. The inconsistency of this offense is killer, though.
