Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 4:
Courtland Sutton, WR, Denver Broncos
Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton bounced back from an underwhelming outing in Week 2 with a huge game in Week 3 against the Los Angeles Chargers. Sutton hauled in six of eight targets for 118 yards and a touchdown.
If there were any questions about Sutton's status as the clear WR1 in Denver, those should be put to rest. The 29-year-old has now recorded 13 catches for 185 yards and two touchdowns through the first three weeks of 2025.
Sutton profiles as a low-end fantasy WR2 heading into a favorable Week 4 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Ricky Pearsall, WR, San Francisco 49ers
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall (knee) isn't concerned about his availability for Week 4. Pearsall sat out Wednesday's practice with a knee issue, but the move appears precautionary, and he's expected to suit up against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The second-year receiver has been a breakout so far in 2025, posting 16 catches for 281 yards through three games. With quarterback Brock Purdy nearing a return (possibly this week), Pearsall could have his starting quarterback for just the second time this season.
The Jaguars' defense has surrendered the sixth-most PPR fantasy points to wide receivers, with both Ja'Marr Chase and Nico Collins recording big outings against their secondary. Assuming he's ready to play, Pearsall should be considered a mid-range WR2 with upside, especially if Purdy is active.
DK Metcalf, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf only managed three catches for 32 yards on four targets in Week 3, but he made up for the low volume he received with a touchdown. He has now found the end zone in back-to-back contests with both scores coming on a jump ball thrown by Aaron Rodgers.
While Metcalf's overall production has been disappointing, it's hard not to compare his early red zone connection with his quarterback to that of Rodgers and Davante Adams.
If the duo continues to strengthen their chemistry, Metcalf could certainly meet the expectations of those who drafted him in fantasy, but he unfortunately seems like a touchdown-dependent WR2 at this point. He'll face his toughest opponent yet, the Minnesota Vikings, in Week 4.
Ladd McConkey, WR, Los Angeles Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Ladd McConkey caught four of seven targets for 41 yards in the team's last-second win over the Denver Broncos, 23-20. While he remains without a touchdown, his late fourth-quarter first-down catch helped set up the game-winning field goal.
McConkey is reliable but clearly behind Keenan Allen and Quentin Johnston in red-zone targets. Next up is the New York Giants, who have been stingy with passing touchdowns, though their secondary has shown vulnerabilities against big plays.
McConkey should continue to provide steady PPR production, but with a limited ceiling. Fantasy managers should consider him a WR3/FLEX option until his red-zone usage increases.
George Pickens, WR, Dallas Cowboys
Pickens could be in for a significant target increase over the next few weeks with the news that top Dallas wideout CeeDee Lamb (ankle) suffered a high ankle sprain in Week 3. Pickens has now logged nine targets in back-to-back weeks, although it's worth noting that he could still be behind Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson in the target pecking order in Dallas.
If CeeDee Lamb cannot play in Week 4, Pickens would likely profile as a must-start fantasy wide receiver in Week 4, even in a tough matchup against the Green Bay Packers.
