Former two-time flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo got back in the win column by defeating Montel Jackson in the co-main event of UFC Rio on Saturday. Figueiredo entered the fight coming off back-to-back losses for the first time in his career. It wasn't the most exciting fight, as Figueiredo primarily relied on his grappling to ground Jackson, but in the end, when the UFC announcer was reading the scorecards, two judges scored the fight 29-28 for the Brazilian, and the third scored it for Jackson with that same 29-28. In 15 minutes of action, Figueiredo landed two takedowns and 23 significant strikes.--Alen Kurbasic

UFC veteran Vicente Luque suffered a unanimous decision loss to Joel Alvarez on the main card of UFC Rio on Saturday. Luque was completely outclassed in this fight, and the fight was in danger of getting stopped on a few occasions. Even in the break between the second and third rounds, there was some doubt as to whether Luque would continue to fight, but the Brazilian bit down on his mouthpiece and continued. In 15 minutes of action, Luque landed 30 significant strikes. With the loss, Luque dropped to 23-12-1 as a pro and is now 16-8 in the UFC.--Alen Kurbasic

Joel Alvarez extended his win streak by defeating UFC veteran Vicente Luque via unanimous decision on the main card of UFC Rio on Saturday. After landing a punch in the first round, Luque signalled that he was poked in the eye, the action was stopped, but the replay showed that it came from a thumb graze rather than a finger, which is legal. Alvarez could have finished Luque on a few occasions, but Luque managed to survive. In 15 minutes of action, Alvarez landed a takedown and 89 significant strikes. This is the Spaniard's fourth consecutive victory, and he should probably be matched against a top-15 opponent in his next appearance.--Alen Kurbasic

Jhonata Diniz suffered a second-round submission loss to Mario Pinto on the main card of UFC Rio on Saturday. Diniz was completely overwhelmed by Pinto in this matchup and remained in defensive mode from the beginning to the end of the fight. After escaping numerous submission attempts, Pinto moved to full mount and just started blasting Diniz with punches, forcing the referee to stop the fight. In 9:10 of action, Diniz landed only a single significant strike. --Alen Kurbasic

Pinto had a dominant performance, repeatedly taking Diniz down and maintaining dominant positions throughout the fight. The ending sequence occurred in the second round after Pinto, who had established top control, was punishing Diniz with ground-and-pound, and after Diniz faced increasing damage, leading to the referee's stoppage. In 9:10 of action, Pinto landed three takedowns and 29 significant strikes.--Alen Kurbasic

Ricardo Ramos suffered a first-round submission loss to Kaan Ofli on the UFC Rio main card opener on Saturday. Ramos got taken down early, but he grabbed Ofli's leg, nearly locking in a knee bar in the opening moments of the first. It took him some time, but Ofli got out of the compromising position. Ofli then took Ramos' back and sank in the rear-naked choke, forcing Ramos to tap out. In 3:02 of action, Ramos landed a single significant strike. Ramos has dropped four of his past five fights and is 8-7 since joining the UFC in 2017.--Alen Kurbasic

Former lightweight champion Charles Oliveira will look to bounce back in the win column when he takes on Mateusz Gamrot in the main event of UFC Rio on Saturday. Since moving up, Figueiredo has beaten Rob Font, former bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt and former title challenger Marlon "Chito" Vera. He is currently on a two-fight losing skid, dropping a unanimous decision to former bantamweight champion Petr Yan and, more recently, losing to Cory Sandhagen via second-round TKO after suffering a knee injury. DraftKings sees Figueiredo as the underdog with a salary of $7,200.--Alen Kurbasic

Joel Alvarez will look to extend his win streak when he takes on UFC veteran Vicente Luque on the UFC Rio main card on Saturday. After going 7-2 in the UFC and failing to make the weight on a few occasions, Alvarez agreed to move up a weight class to face Luque on short notice. Alvarez was last seen in action in December at UFC Tampa, where he extended his win streak by knocking Drakkar Klose out in the first round. DraftKings sees Alvarez as a massive favorite with a salary of $9,500.--Alen Kurbasic

UFC veteran Vicente Luque will look to get back in the win column when he takes on Joel Alvarez on the UFC Rio main card on Saturday. Luque hasn't been in the best form for quite some time, having alternated wins and losses and going 2-2 in his last four fights. "The Silent Assassin" was last seen in action in June at UFC 316, where he got submitted by Kevin Holland after Holland caught Luque in a second-round anaconda choke. DraftKings sees Luque as a huge underdog with a salary of $6,700.--Alen Kurbasic
