Freshman Legend Bey Starting As Ohio State's Kick Returner
Ohio State freshman running back Legend Bey is starting as the Buckeyes ' primary kick returner to open the 2026 season against Ball State on Saturday afternoon. The former four-star recruit dominated Texas high school football last year, playing quarterback as he passed for 1,341 yards and 15 touchdowns and rushing for 1,626 yards with 23 touchdowns. Per 247Sports, Bey was the sixth-best athlete in the 2026 high school class, and there was optimism that he would see some snaps at running back for Ohio State this season. However, Bey is listed as the RB4 on the depth chart, and it will be difficult for him to find the field as a running back behind standout sophomore Bo Jackson, who is ranked as RotoBaller's RB12. It's unlikely that fantasy owners will need to monitor Bey's progress this season unless they are in a deeper dynasty format.
