Can Marcel Reed Take the Next Step in 2026?
Texas A&M quarterback Marcel Reed was a standout performer for much of the 2025 campaign, completing 62.1% of his passes for 3,169 yards and 25 touchdowns. He also ran for 493 yards and six scores. However, he threw 12 interceptions overall and logged his worst two performances in the team's final two games. In big-time matchups against Texas and Miami, Reed threw for just 417 yards, no touchdowns, and four picks. The Aggies benefited from having one of the easier schedules in the SEC last year, but as the league heads to nine conference games, Reed will need to take the next step if the Aggies want to get back into the College Football Playoff. Fortunately, he'll have a strong supporting cast to work with, including wideouts Mario Craver and Isaiah Horton. On the other hand, Texas A&M has just 25% of its offensive line snaps returning in 2026.
