NBA DFS: Top Daily Fantasy Expert Picks for DraftKings, FanDuel (4/3/24)

Free daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for today's slate on DraftKings and FanDuel. Use Juan Carlos Blanco's NBA DFS expert picks to building winning DFS lineups on April 3, 2024.

Welcome back, RotoBallers! We're set up for an eight-game main slate on both DraftKings and FanDuel on Wednesday night, with the one game not included on either site's ledger being the Cavaliers-Suns late-night clash. As of this writing Tuesday night, there is a bit of uncertainty surrounding several big names who were out Tuesday and therefore still have that tag on the two sites for the time being. However, that is naturally subject to change, so keeping an eye on the news throughout the day Wednesday will be critical.

The key to being successful in NBA DFS comes down to making adjustments during the day as injury information becomes available. But it's always really important to have a game plan and the best players and spots circled first before making those adjustments. To keep up with all the latest developments and get access to updated projections, grab an NBA season pass and also gain access to our RotoBaller Premium Discord where @chiefjustice6 is talking about the slate up until lineups lock!

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 4/3/24. Remember to monitor NBA injury news and our awesome NBA injuries report tool, as the slate can completely change before lineups lock at 7:00 p.m. EDT on FanDuel and DraftKings. Good luck, RotoBallers!

Today's NBA DFS Core Picks

With Shai Gilgeous-Alexander uncertain to play Wednesday, I'm going with Anthony Davis as my top play overall. The big man played through his questionable tag Tuesday night against the Raptors and I expect more of the same Wednesday versus a Wizards team that's allowed an NBA-high 38.0 offensive efficiency rating to centers and the second-most points in the paint per contest (58.4).

Dejounte Murray continues to put up some jaw-dropping stat lines in the ongoing absence of Trae Young (finger), and he's already shot 55.9 percent, including 44.4 percent from three-point range, in two prior games against the Pistons on his way to averaging over 45 fantasy points per contest on each site. Detroit is also ranked No. 21 in offensive efficiency rating allowed to PGs (28.5).

Rudy Gobert has boasted a floor of about 35 fantasy points since March 1, and he draws an excellent matchup against a Raptors squad ranked No. 24 in offensive efficiency rating allowed to centers (35.0), No. 27 in points in the paint allowed per game (54.3), and No. 22 in blocks per game allowed (5.5, including an NBA-high 8.7 per contest in the last three).

  1. Anthony Davis, LAL at WAS – PF/C ($10.5K DK; $11.4K FD)
  2. Dejounte Murray, ATL vs. DET – PG/SG ($9.9K DK; $10.4K FD)
  3. Rudy Gobert, MIN vs. TOR – C ($7.7K DK; $8.2K FD)

Today's NBA DFS Value Picks

Corey Kispert continues to frequently outperform his current salaries, most recently posting 41.8 DK/41.4 FD points across 38 minutes in the shocking upset of the Bucks on Tuesday. He's also posted another pair of tallies over 30 in the last five games overall and could be due for another starting assignment if Kyle Kuzma sits out another game due to a heel injury.

Mike Conley has also been delivering strong returns on investment of late, and the good news is his salaries remain highly reasonable. His latest success also came on Tuesday, as he posted 31 DK/30.4 FD points versus the Rockets in 29 minutes. The veteran guard has scored at least 25 DK points in seven straight and faces a Raptors team that's been generous defensively all season.

Luke Kennard is taking advantage of the Grizzlies' plethora of key absences, averaging 28.3 FD points per contest while shooting 43.6 percent from three-point range over his last five games. The sharpshooting veteran is facing a Bucks squad that was just upended by the Wizards on Tuesday and that's ranked No. 27 in offensive efficiency rating allowed to two-guards (25.4), along with 43.6 DK/42.6 FD points per contest to the position in the last 15 games.

Top Value Plays:

  1. Corey Kispert, WAS vs. LAL - SF/PF ($5.9K DK; $5.6K FD)
  2. Mike Conley, MIN vs. TOR – PG ($5.5K DK; $6.4K FD)
  3. Luke Kennard, MEM at MIL - SG/PG ($5.2K DK; $4.8K FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Point Guard

The appeal of both Murray and Conley was already discussed, while Dalano Banton makes for an excellent mid-salary play after scoring 51.3 DK/53.5 FD points against the typically defensively proficient Magic on Monday night and averaging over 35 fantasy points per contest on either site in his last nine games.

Top PG Options:

  1. Dejounte Murray, ATL vs. DET – PG/SG ($9.9K DK; $10.4K FD)
  2. Dalano Banton, POR at CHA - PG/SG ($6.9K DK; $6.8K FD)
  3. Mike Conley, MIN vs. TOR – ($5.5K DK; $6.4K FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Shooting Guard

Austin Reaves had a rough shooting night against the Raptors on Tuesday and still found his way to 27 DK/28.8 FD points thanks in part to six assists and three blocks. He's still averaging 41.7 DK points in his last six games overall, and the Wizards have allowed 37.8 percent three-point shooting to two-guards and an Eastern Conference-high 52.2 DK/50.8 FD points per contest to the position in the last seven contests.

Cam Thomas is facing a Pacers team that's surrendered 48.3 percent shooting, including 38.5 percent from distance, to shooting guards, and he comes in having scored over 44 DK points in three of the past four games.

Luke Kennard's appeal was discussed in the Value Plays Section.

Top SG Options:

  1. Austin Reaves, LAL at WAS - SG/PG ($7.8K DK; $7.2K FD)
  2. Cam Thomas, BKN vs. IND – SG/PG/SF ($7.7K DK; $7.9K FD)
  3. Luke Kennard, MEM at MIL - SG/PG ($5.2K DK; $4.8K FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Small Forward

LeBron James played through his usual questionable tag against the Raptors on Tuesday, and the good news is that he was only needed for 29 minutes. The future Hall of Famer netted 41.5 DK/40.3 FD points in that relatively modest allotment of playing time, and he now faces a Wizards team that's surrendered 48.5 percent shooting to small forwards, along with the second-highest offensive efficiency rating to the position (25.7).

Bogdan Bogdanovic is averaging a stellar 42.4 DK/41.1 FD points per contest in the last five games, shooting 52.5 percent, including 45.5 percent from three-point range, in that stretch. He'll continue to take the floor without Trae Young on Wednesday and faces a Pistons team that's yielded 38.6 percent three-point shooting to small forwards and an NBA-high 49.8 DK/49.2 FD points per contest to the position in the last seven games.

Top SF Options:

    1. LeBron James, LAL at WAS - SF/PF ($10.2K DK; $10.3K FD)
    2. Bogdan Bogdanovic, ATL vs. DET - SF/SG ($6.9K DK; $7.5K FD)
    3. Corey Kispert, WAS vs. LAL- SF/PF ($5.9K DK; $5.6K FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Power Forward

PF features some of the best overall plays on the slate tonight. With players that project very well and good options to formulate game stacks, PF is where I'll be starting my lineups tonight.

Top PF Options:

  1. Giannis Antetokounmpo, MIL vs. MEM ($11.8K DK; $12K FD)
  2. Jalen Johnson, ATL vs. DET ($7K DK; $7.9K FD)
  3. Trendon Watford, BKN vs. IND – PF/C ($4.4K DK; $5K FD)

The Bucks were shockingly upset by the Wizards on Tuesday night, but the blame can't be placed at the feat of Giannis Antetokounmpo, who posted 72.3 DK/66 FD points on the strength of a triple-double. He now has three games over 70 on DK and two on FD over his last four games alone. It's probably safe to say Milwaukee will take nothing for granted against its second non-contending opponent in 24 hours Wednesday.

Jalen Johnson is currently carrying lower salaries than earlier in the season due primarily to his recent injuries, but he's still the same player that displayed a ceiling north of 50 fantasy points on both sites in multiple games this season. He also draws a very favorable matchup against a Pistons squad that's allowed 50.0 percent shooting, including 39.6 percent from distance, to power forwards.

Trendon Watford has been quite the late-season asset for the Nets, producing five straight double-digit scoring efforts, averaging over 25 fantasy points per contest on both sites, and shooting 66.7 percent, including 50.0 percent from three-point range. Those are very good returns on his current salaries, and his matchup against a Pacers team allowing a Eastern Conference-high 47.9 percent shooting to second-unit players doesn't hurt his prospects, either.

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Center

Center has great options from top to bottom, so use this roster spot according to what makes the most sense with the rest of your build.

Top C Options:

  1. Anthony Davis, LAL at WAS – PF/C ($10.5K DK; $11.4K FD)
  2. Rudy Gobert, MIN vs. TOR – C ($7.7K DK; $8.2K FD)
  3. Brandon Clarke, MEM at MIL – ($4.2K DK; $5.3K FD)

The case for rostering Anthony Davis and Rudy Gobert has already been made earlier in the Core Plays section, while Brandon Clarke has put some encouraging play on tape since making his long-awaited season debut. The big man is averaging over 25 fantasy points in just 21.3 minutes per game over his first three games. Clarke has upped his scoring contributions in each game thus far as well and just had his best performance yet against the Pistons on Monday (15 points, seven rebounds, two blocks, one steal).

Today's Top NBA DFS Game Stacks

  1. Lakers at Wizards (234.5 total)
  2. Pacers at Nets (230.5 total)
  3. Pistons at Hawks (223.0 total)

* The Thunder-Celtics game (229.5 total) is notably not listed above, but that's primarily because of my concerns about Gilgeous-Alexander and Jaylen Brown potentially sitting out for either side. With OKC also on the back end of a back-to-back set, it's possible the Celtics are able to eventually open up a big enough lead at home where none of the high-end plays can fully justify their salaries.

Today's Top NBA DFS Avoids

  1. The Magic and Pelicans clash has a sub-210-point projected total, unsurprising given the defensive acumen of each squad. Therefore, it's largely a stay-away spot on such a large slate.
  2. The Raptors are big underdogs on the road and on the second night of a back-to-back set against one of the best all-around teams in either conference in the Timberwolves, keeping me off Toronto's players as a whole.
