Savion Hiter Will Play In Season Opener
Michigan running back Savion Hiter will play in Week 1 against Western Michigan, according to Michigan OC Jason Beck. The true freshman running back has high expectations coming into this season as Michigan's highest-ranked offensive high school recruit in 2026. 247Sports ranked Hiter as a five-star recruit heading into this season at #21 overall and the second-best running back behind Alabama's EJ Crowell. According to OurLads, Hiter is still listed as Michigan's second-string running back behind redshirt sophomore Jordan Marshall. Last season, Marshall ran for 932 yards and 10 touchdowns on 150 carries, but he shined down the stretch, rushing for seven touchdowns and eclipsing 100 yards in four of the team's final five games. Marshall is currently ranked as RotoBaller's RB11, and he should remain a high-end RB2 until Hiter proves he can eat into his workload. Fantasy owners should monitor Hiter's volume in the first few weeks.
