MLB Prop Bets - Today's Home Run Prop Picks (6/5/2026)
James Wood OVER 0.5 Home Runs (+426 Kalshi)
The Nationals were just swept at home by the Marlins and dropped back below .500. Overall, they've been a surprisingly fun team this season, with their offense especially productive. The offense starts with lefty slugger James Wood, and the 23-year-old has improved in almost every category this season. He has a .400 wOBA and .264 ISO over his 63 games with 16 homers.
Wood leads the majors in barrels per plate appearance and barrels per batted ball event. He ranks third in hard-hit rate and ranks second in average exit velocity, trailing Oneil Cruz by less than 0.1 mph. He's making outstanding contact, and even though he scuffled against the arlins, he's in a good spot to get back on track this Friday.
James Wood hits an absolute rocket to the stands 😮

While Wood has hit everyone well this season, 12 of his 16 homers have come off righties. He'll take on righty Merrill Kelly on Friday night at Chase Field in a favorable home run environment. Kelly has served up 10 homers in his nine starts, including four long balls in his 17 1/3 innings at home. Lefties have hit seven of those 10 homers while compiling a 51.9% hard-hit rate, 21.2% barrel rate, and a .299 ISO.
Since lefties have hit Kelly so well, Wood is a great place to target for home run props on Friday night, especially since he still offers a little value at these odds.
Hunter Goodman OVER 0.5 Home Runs (+400 Novig)
The Brewers' bats are sure to be popular options as they head to Coors Field this weekend, and deservedly so. However, for my pick in Friday's home run props, I'm looking at an option from the home team. The Rockies have been much more competitive this season than last year and have won back-to-back series against the Giants and Angels. Goodman leads the team with 15 homers on the year, and he'll be in a good spot on Friday night against Brandon Sproat.
The Brewers have acquired, adjusted, and "fixed" several starting pitchers this year, but Sproat hasn't quite turned the corner yet. The 25-year-old righty is 1-4 with a 6.24 ERA and 5.59 FIP in his 11 games (nine starts). He has allowed 10 homers in 49 innings this year, and righties have six of those homers with a .198 ISO and 10.4% barrel rate.
Goodman homered twice this week in Anaheim and has four homers in his last eight games. In that span, he has a 50% hard-hit rate and 22.7% barrel rate.

On the season, Goodman has only four of his 15 homers at Coors Field, but the weather looks great for offense on Friday night with the wind blowing out and summer-like temperatures over 80 degrees. In this matchup against Sproat with good momentum, Goodman is a great spot for home run props this Friday.
