Eric Cross' updated fantasy baseball prospect dynasty rankings -- his top 125 prospects for fantasy baseball from his April 2026 rankings update. Check out his dynasty prospect risers and fallers.
The first month of both the Major League season and minor league season is coming to an end, and we've already seen plenty of movement in prospect rankings. That will only continue in the coming weeks as my top three prospects below are all set to graduate in the next week or so. So we'll have a new top dog in my May rankings update.
These MLB prospect rankings are geared toward standard 5x5 fantasy baseball leagues (AVG) and consider many factors, including performance to date, scouting grades, future projection, and video and data analysis. Or, as I like to call it ... "PPP," which stands for profile, performance, and projection.
While these dynasty fantasy baseball prospect rankings are more slanted toward long-term fantasy value, proximity and short-term value do play a part in where a prospect lands in my rankings. If you want to see the full top 500, then head on over to my Patreon!

Fantasy Baseball Prospect Rankings Notes
Caleb Bonemer, Chicago White Sox
On Chris Welsh's Prospect One podcast this pre-season, I made a bold prediction that Caleb Bonemer would be a Top-10 prospect this season. And through the first month, he's well on his way. In 20 games for High-A Winston-Salem, Bonemer is slashing .270/.396/.662 with eight doubles and seven home runs. Bonemer's .662 SLG ranks 5th among all prospects age 20 or younger, and his .392 ISO ranks 4th.

— MLB Pipeline (@MLBPipeline) April 25, 2026
In addition to his plus power, Bonemer is also a solid runner who swiped 29 bags in 107 games last season. I'm projecting him as more of a 10-15 steal threat, but that could come with 30 home runs and a good OBP.
The big question moving forward is whether Bonemer can find that balance between hitting for contact and hitting for power. His contact rate has dropped from 78% to 66% this season with a near 7% rise in his SwStr rate. Finding that balance will be the key to Bonemer cracking my Top-10 overall later this season.
Eduardo Quintero, Los Angeles Dodgers
You probably noticed above that Eduardo Quintero dropped out of my Top 10. Well, it's been a rough start to the season for him in High-A. In 19 games, Quintero is slashing just .158/.256/.250 with a 29.1% strikeout rate and 39 wRC+. On the bright side, he does have two home runs and three stolen bases.
While the strikeout rate has ticked up this season, Quintero is still making contact at a 78% clip, and his SwStr rate is actually down to 7.5% from 7.8% last season. So in general, despite the slight drop in rankings, I'm not overly concerned with Quintero right now. I'd still be looking to target him in dynasty leagues due to his exciting blend of offensive skills.
Seth Hernandez, Pittsburgh Pirates
You can make a strong argument that Seth Hernandez is the nastiest pitcher in the minor league right now, and the one with the highest upside. The 2025 first-round selection has put on a pitching showcase through his first four professional starts, posting a 0.53 ERA, 0.53 WHIP, 8.3% walk rate, and a 53.3% strikeout rate. Yes, that strikeout rate is correct and not a typo. Hernandez has struck out 32 of the first 60 batters he's faced.

— MLB Pipeline (@MLBPipeline) April 25, 2026
It should be illegal to have Hernandez's blend of stuff and command/control at his age. On top of having a mid to upper-90s fastball, Hernandez mixes in two good breaking balls and an elite changeup. Hernandez is one of the small handful of pitching prospects who have true ace upside, and he's the leader in the clubhouse to be the new #1 overall pitching prospect by the All-Star break.
Franklin Arias, Boston Red Sox
There aren't many minor league hitters having a better start to the season than Boston's Franklin Arias right now. After having eight home runs in 116 games last season, Arias is already up to seven home runs in 16 Double-A games so far this season, to go along with a .407/.476/.870 slash line and as many walks as strikeouts (5).
Entering the season, Arias was a fringe Top-100 prospect for me, and I believe I was lower than most on him. This was due to an underwhelming power/speed blend, which capped his long-term appeal for fantasy leagues. The contact skills have always been plus to elite, and Arias doesn't strike out much, but hitting for more power has been the X-factor for his notable jump in my rankings this month.
If the increased power output sticks, Arias could jump well inside my Top-50 overall in next month's rankings update.
Anthony Eyanson, Boston Red Sox
Through the first month of the minor league season, it's looking like the Boston Red Sox got an absolute steal with Anthony Eyanson in the third round of last year's draft.
In his first four starts for High-A Greenville, Eyanson has recorded a ridiculous 0.54 ERA, 0.36 WHIP, .109 BAA, and a 48.2% strikeout rate. Oh yeah, he also hasn't walked anyone yet and has a 27/0 K/BB ratio in 16.2 innings. I'm not sure you could generate these numbers on MLB The Show with a created player with maxed-out skill sliders while playing on rookie mode.

The @RedSox 2025 third-rounder has 27 strikeouts and ZERO walks over his first four pro starts: pic.twitter.com/lSMxA6AU12
— MLB Pipeline (@MLBPipeline) April 26, 2026
There were questions surrounding Eyanson's fastball, but he's shown an improved 4-seamer so far, along with two above-average to plus secondaries that he misses a ton of bats with. And to cap it all off, Eyanson has shown incredible command and control so far. His dynasty stock is absolutely soaring right now.
