Carlos Correa Back From Illness, Hitting Cleanup in Return to Houston
Carlos Correa (illness) is back in action on Friday and will start at third base and bat cleanup in Friday's series opener against the Boston Red Sox and right-hander Cooper Criswell at Fenway Park in his return to the Astros. Correa was held out of the lineup for the Twins on Wednesday after experiencing lightheadedness the day prior, but he's back now after an off day on Thursday after being traded to the Astros. The 30-year-old Puerto Rican spent the first seven years of his career in Houston and won a World Series with the club in 2017. With Jeremy Pena (ribs) returning from the injured list, Correa will move from shortstop to third base with Isaac Paredes facing a season-ending hamstring injury. Correa has hit .267 (90-for-337) with only seven home runs and 31 RBI in 2025, but he will be gaining third base eligibility for the 2026 campaign.
