XFL DFS Value Plays: Division Championship Round Bargain Bin for DraftKings Including Brandon Silvers, Juwan Green, Sal Cannella, More

Juan's top XFL DFS value plays for the 2023 Division Championship Games. These sleepers are cheap on DraftKings daily fantasy football contests.

Welcome to the Division Championship Round edition of RotoBaller's XFL DFS Bargain Bin, where the goal is to touch on some potentially mispriced players in DraftKings' Division Championship Round XFL contests. Each week during the XFL 2023 season and postseason, I’ll give you my thoughts on where there may be some value spots to exploit for DraftKings' wide array of tournaments and cash games. After you're done here, be sure to also read all our other weekly XFL fantasy football articles.

We've arrived at the final week of the regular season, and with plenty of teams still in the hunt for a postseason spot, there should be no shortage of hard-fought battles this weekend. As customary, we'll break down multiple cost-saving options at each position to consider for your DraftKings lineups.

DraftKings' XFL DFS rosters largely mirror that of NFL contests, with a notable exception – there is no TE-specific spot, but rather two WR/TE spots and two additional Flex spots that can be filled with a running back, wide receiver, or tight end.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

XFL DFS Bargain Bin Intro

Before we go XFL DFS Bargain Bin hunting, a few particulars about format and content.

The nature of the beast with value plays is at least a modest amount (and sometimes substantially more) of risk. Therefore, the Bargain Bin may prove to be a bit more of a rollercoaster ride on some slates than your typical “tout” article! Naturally, that doesn’t mean there isn’t an upside to be had. All of these selections are therefore suitable for GPPs and can also often serve as solid cash game plays, while often helping you accommodate multiple higher-priced studs into your lineup.

This article is by no means intended to serve as an exhaustive list of all value options for the week. Rather, it’s meant to take a deeper dive into those I feel offer some of the best combinations of savings and upside.

The goal is to recommend truly affordable players, as opposed to, say, a player priced just $300-$400 away from the highest-priced option at his position. I don’t have set-in-stone price limits in mind for each site, but I do consider legitimate affordability a very important criterion.

XFL Quarterback DFS Value Plays

Brandon Silvers, HOU vs. ARL | $8,800

Silvers had a somewhat lackluster finish to the regular season that saw him throw six interceptions over his last four games. However, he recorded an impressive 16.2 DK points against the Renegades back in Week 2, and he posted double-digit DK-point tallies in six of his eight contests overall.

Silvers should be well rested after sitting out Week 10 to clear his mind after his rocky second half of the season, and Arlington showed a bit more vulnerability to the pass as the season went on while finishing the campaign allowing the fourth-most passing yards per contest (193.3).

XFL Running Back DFS Value Plays

Leddie Brown, ARL at HOU | $4,700

Brown made an impact once he had started receiving consistent opportunity down the stretch, flashing as both runner and receiver while averaging 8.6 DK points per contest as a complementary option to De'Veon Smith. The versatile West Virginia product recorded multiple receptions in each of the last three games, including a 6-69 line on eight targets against DC in Week 9.

Houston was one of league's best defenses all season partly because of a ferocious pass rush, so Brown could be frequently deployed as a sneaky safety valve out of the backfield, as was the case against the defense most similar to the Roughnecks, the Defenders.

Brycen Alleyne, HOU vs. ARL | $3,900

Alleyne is best suited for tournament play given his somewhat uncertain workload behind Max Borghi, but he's shown some nice upside for this salary based on his explosive runs and underrated pass-catching chops.

The Delaware State product totaled 13.6 DK points in Week 9 against the Vipers on 58 total yards and a rushing touchdown, and he also tallied 10.5 versus the Brahmas back in Week 3 thanks in part to a 4-40 line through the air. If Alleyne garners a touch count somewhere in 6-8 range, he could certainly have a chance to deliver a solid return on his very modest salary.

XFL Wide Receiver DFS Value Plays

Juwan Green, SEA at DC | $7,100

Green wrapped up the regular season averaging 12 DK points per contest with the help of a strong finish that saw him wrap up the season with 142- and 88-yard efforts in the last three games. The former tally came against the same Defenders squad he'll face in the North Division Championship, a game in which Green finished with a season-high 36.2 DK points.

DC's pass rush was one of the league's most successful, but when it didn't get home, big plays often resulted -- the Defenders finished allowing a league-high 266.1 passing yards per contest.

Josh Hammond, DC vs. SEA | $6,100

Hammond was somewhat overshadowed by the exploits of his stellar receiving mates Lucky Jackson and Chris Blair, but the Florida alum was certainly a key figure in the Defenders' passing attack as well.

Hammond finished with a 34-331-1 through 10 games, and he wrapped up the season with tallies of 11.9, 13.5 and 20.4 DK points within the last five contests. With plenty of attention sure to gravitate toward Jackson and Blair after their spectacular regular seasons, Hammond could be a sneaky way to get access to DC's passing attack.

ALSO CONSIDER: Tyler Vaughns, ARL at HOU | $4,700

XFL Flex DFS Value Plays

Sal Cannella, TE - ARL at HOU | $6,600

Cannella was a fixture in this space all season as one of the XFL's few consistent tight ends, and he could well be set for another big role in this elimination matchup. Cannella was curiously ignored by Luis Perez in the quarterback's first start back in Week 8 against the Guardians, but the spring league vet made it up to him over the next two games by feeding him 15 targets in that span.

Cannella finished with a 10-133 line in the sample, including a 7-92 effort in Week 9 against the Defenders that netted 16.2 DK points. Cannella also posted a combined 7-79 mark in two games versus Houston during the regular season, and despite it being a completely different set of circumstances, it's worth mentioning he recorded a massive 12-154 line on 16 targets in a USFL playoff game a year ago.

Alex Ellis, TE - DC vs. SEA | $3,000

Ellis is a GPP-play only, but he was able to display a penchant for getting into the end zone late in the season that could carry over into the postseason. The Tennessee product scored all four of his touchdowns in the last five games of the campaign, and his two-score tally against the Brahmas in Week 10 netted a season-high 18.5 DK points.

With the Sea Dragons likely to concentrate heavily on Jackson and Blair and also naturally focus on slowing both Jordan Ta'amu and Abram Smith on the ground, opportunities for Ellis to find holes in coverage could certainly exist.

ALSO CONSIDER: Travell Harris, WR - HOU vs. ARL | $6,800
