XFL DFS Value Plays: Week 7 Bargain Bin for DraftKings Including Jordan Ta'amu, Jacques Patrick, Lucky Jackson, More

Juan's top XFL DFS value plays for Week 7 of the 2023 season. These sleepers are cheap on DraftKings daily fantasy football contests.

Welcome to the Week 7 edition of RotoBaller's XFL DFS Bargain Bin, where the goal is to touch on some potentially mispriced players in DraftKings' Week 7 XFL contests. Each week during the XFL 2023 season and postseason, I’ll give you my thoughts on where there may be some value spots to exploit for DraftKings' wide array of tournaments and cash games. After you're done here, be sure to also read all our other weekly XFL fantasy football articles.

We head into the final four weeks of the season with an intriguing Week 7 slate that starts off Friday night with a Sea Dragons-Renegades battle. There is one value option from that contest in our Bargain Bin this week, and there are also plenty of other selections across the final three games of the weekend.

DraftKings' XFL DFS rosters largely mirror that of NFL contests, with a notable exception – there is no TE-specific spot, but rather two WR/TE spots and two additional Flex spots that can be filled with a running back, wide receiver, or tight end.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

XFL DFS Bargain Bin Intro

Before we go XFL DFS Bargain Bin hunting, a few particulars about format and content.

The nature of the beast with value plays is at least a modest amount (and sometimes substantially more) of risk. Therefore, the Bargain Bin may prove to be a bit more of a rollercoaster ride on some slates than your typical “tout” article! Naturally, that doesn’t mean there isn’t an upside to be had. All of these selections are therefore suitable for GPPs and can also often serve as solid cash game plays, while often helping you accommodate multiple higher-priced studs into your lineup.

This article is by no means intended to serve as an exhaustive list of all value options for the week. Rather, it’s meant to take a deeper dive into those I feel offer some of the best combinations of savings and upside.

The goal is to recommend truly affordable players, as opposed to, say, a player priced just $300-$400 away from the highest-priced option at his position. I don’t have set-in-stone price limits in mind for each site, but I do consider legitimate affordability a very important criterion.

XFL Quarterback DFS Value Plays

Jordan Ta'amu, DC at ORL | $8,500

Ta'amu hasn't thrown an interception since Week 1 and he's eclipsed 20 DK points in two of his last three contests. He's only thrown for over 100 yards twice, but Ta'amu could be active through the air for the second straight game after throwing for a season-high 245 yards in Week 6.

The Guardians can arguably be considered a funnel defense toward the pass, as Orlando has been effective slowing down the run while yielding just 84.5 rushing yards per contest. However, teams have been able to average 207.2 passing yards per game versus the Guardians, and with a burgeoning connection with both Lucky Jackson and Josh Hammond, Ta'amu certainly has the potential to exploit that weakness.

ALSO CONSIDER: Cole McDonald, HOU vs. STL | $8,400

XFL Running Back DFS Value Plays

Jacques Patrick, SAN at VGS | $5,700

Patrick took over as the Brahmas' lead back in Week 6 with Kalen Ballage (Achilles) gone for the season and recorded 13 DK points on the strength of a 15-82 line on the ground and 3-18 tally through the air. The FSU product has proven his ability contribute through both the ground and air at this level through his work with the Tampa Bay Vipers back in 2020, and he'll draw an excellent matchup on paper in Week 7.

The Vipers have allowed an XFL-high 136.7 rushing yards per game. Vegas has also conceded the second-most passing yards per game, which is another metric in Patrick's favor given his abilities as a receiver. Additionally, San Antonio's uncertain quarterback situation could once again favor Patrick in Week 7, and if the highly mobile Jawon Pass happens to see some snaps, the threat he presents as a runner could help open up some lanes for Patrick.

Devin Darrington, ORL vs. DC | $4,800

Darrington broke out in Week 6 against the Sea Dragons with 22.5 DK points on the strength of a 7-82-2 line on the ground. The Virginia alum also posted 40 yards on 12 carries in Week 4, and given his big-play ability, he could well log even more work than his Week 6 allotment on Saturday evening.

The Defenders have made life difficult on quarterbacks by relentlessly coming after the passer, and Darrington could therefore be the ideal antidote to deploy against defenders that are sprinting upfield after the quarterback. Darrington has plenty of speed to get into the second level in such a scenario, and he's also dangerous as a receiver in space. While his projected workload is hard to pin down, he makes for a very intriguing tournament option that gives you plenty of flexibility elsewhere.

ALSO CONSIDER: John Lovett, VGS vs. SA | $4,900

XFL Wide Receiver DFS Value Plays

Lucky Jackson, DC at ORL | $6,200

As alluded to in Ta'amu's entry, Jackson is a primary target in the Defenders passing game and has been the most reliable component within it from a fantasy perspective all season.

The Western Kentucky product has at least four  catches and six targets in four straight games, and he's coming off having posted a season-high 27.6 DK points in Week 6 against the Roughnecks.

Jackson also had double-digit DK-point tallies in Weeks 3 and 5, and he should once again be consistently involved against a Guardians team whose vulnerabilities against the pass were already detailed in Ta'amu's entry earlier.

George Campbell, STL at HOU | $4,000

Campbell is admittedly a bit of a speculative play for tournaments, but there's something to be said for what the speedy wideout has put on film the last two games. The West Virginia product recorded a five-yard touchdown on his only catch in Week 5 before producing an encouraging 3-54 tally in Week 6.

Campbell has a reliable veteran quarterback in A.J. McCarron throwing him the ball, and he's also a beneficiary of the defensive attention heaped upon position mates Hakeem Butler and Darrius Shepherd. Campbell averaged over 20 yards per catch in two of his college seasons, and although the Roughnecks have very good numbers against the pass, they were exposed some in Week 6 by the Defenders.

Daniel Williams III, ORL vs. DC | $3,000

Williams stepped up in a significant way in Week 6 for the Guardians in what was his second game with active status for Orlando. Williams posted a 5-46 line on eight targets that netted 9.6 DK points, displaying strong chemistry with quarterback Quentin Dormady in the process.

The well-traveled Williams was a solid receiver during his college days at Jackson State (173-2,389-19 line over last three seasons) before posting 17 receptions for 164 yard and a touchdown with the Memphis Express in the AAF in 2019 and 23 catches for 338 yards and a touchdown over five games with the Tampa Bay Vipers in XFL 2.0 the following year. With the Defenders allowing an XFL-high 238.2 passing yards per game and Williams already showing good command of the offense, he could overdeliver significantly on his tiny salary in Week 7.

ALSO CONSIDER: Travell Harris, HOU vs. STL | $6,600

XFL Flex DFS Value Plays

Cedric Byrd II, WR - HOU vs. STL | $5,300

Byrd's salary remains very reasonable and he continues to enjoy a steady complementary role in the Roughnecks' pass-heavy attack. The Hawaii product has been utilized mainly in a short-area role thus far, as he's averaging just 7.2 yards per catch on his 24 receptions through six games. However, was a college teammate of Cole McDonald's, who could draw the Week 7 start, and posted 177 receptions for 2,067 yards and 19 touchdowns while working with him in 2018 and 2019.

Byrd has between four and seven catches and six and nine targets in the last three games, and his involvement could go up even further if McDonald is under center. Byrd should continue to enjoy an enhanced role with Jontre Kirklin out the rest of the season, and at his salary and a trio of double-digit DK-point tallies already under his belt, he makes for a strong value option for cash or tournaments.

Juwan Green, WR - SEA at ARL | $4,200

The Sea Dragons receiving corps is deep, but Green continues to find a way to make his mark in it almost every week. The Albany College product is coming off his best game of the season yet in Week 6 against the Guardians, producing a 5-50-1 line on eight targets that featured personal bests across the board and netted 16 DK points.

Green also generated 13.6 DK points in Week 4, giving him more than enough upside at his salary. The Sea Dragons should once again be deploying a pass-centric attack in Week 7 considering the Renegades have allowed the second-fewest rushing yards per game (76.2), and Green could once again be in a position to benefit from the attention typically heaped on his other position mates.

ALSO CONSIDER: Rod Smith, RB - VGS vs. STL | $6,700
