2020 NFL Draft Re-Do: Full First-Round Shuffle

Joe Burrow - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News, DFS and Betting Picks

A Re-do of the opening round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Which teams made the best and works pick in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Read the top picks including Joe Burrow, Justin Herbert, Jalen Hurts, more.

With the 2026 NFL Draft slowly approaching, let's take a look back nearly six years and re-draft the opening round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

In this redo, we will give each "original" holder of the pick their respective slot back, as if any "Draft Day" trades had not occurred. On Draft Day, several trades occurred, but in this re-do, the original owner of the pick "on draft day" will hold that selection.

What would the 2020 NFL Draft look like in 2026? Let's dive in!

Pick 1: Cincinnati Bengals

Original Pick - Joe Burrow, QB

New Pick - Joe Burrow, QB

The Bengals struck gold on the first pick and will make the same selection in the redo. Burrow has looked like a franchise QB in Cincinnati and has emerged as one of the game's top options. While injuries have limited his playing time, Burrow has looked like a legit No. 1 overall pick when on the field. He led them to a Super Bowl and threw for over 4,500 yards in three of his seasons.

Pick 2: Washington Commanders

Original Pick - Chase Young, DE

New Pick - Jalen Hurts, QB

The Commanders looked like they found a budding star in Chase Young during his rookie season, but the former Ohio State standout was never himself after his debut season. Instead, the Commanders will find their franchise QB in Super Bowl Champion Jalen Hurts. Hurts has been one of the game's most efficient passers in Philadelphia while being a force with his legs. Since 2021, Hurts has totaled double-digit rushing scores in all but one season and averaged 21 passing scores per season.

Pick 3: Detroit Lions

Original Pick - Jeff Okudah, DB

New Pick - Justin Herbert, QB

The Lions will continue the QB-run with Justin Herbert out of Oregon. While Herbert has not had the postseason success as the names above him, in the regular season, he has been borderline elite. In 2025, Herbert threw for at least 3,750 yards for his second-straight campaign and totaled a career-best 498 yards on the ground. However, his decision-making has limited his overall production, as he has thrown double-digit interceptions in just two of his NFL seasons.

Pick 4: New York Giants

Original Pick - Andrew Thomas, OT

New Pick - Justin Jefferson, WR

The Giants will end the QB-run with the class's top wideout, Justin Jefferson. Jefferson was initially a late first-round selection but has since emerged as one of the game's top WRs. While he had a down year in 2025, Jefferson enjoyed an incredible start to his season and is well worthy of a top-4 pick. From 2020 through 2024, Jefferson averaged 1,486 yards per season with 8.0 scores per season.

Pick 5: Miami Dolphins

Original Pick - Tua Tagovailoa, QB

New Pick - CeeDee Lamb, WR

The Dolphins will follow suit and grab another elite playmaker in CeeDee Lamb. This class is filled with offensive talent, and the Dolphins will add an elite WR1 in Lamb. The Oklahoma product had a slower start to his career but has since emerged as Dak Prescott's go-to pass catcher. In 2023, Lamb enjoyed one of the most outstanding campaigns by a WR in recent history, scoring 17 TDs while tallying 1,749 yards on 135 catches.

Pick 6: Los Angeles Chargers

Original Pick - Justin Herbert, QB

New Pick - Tristan Wirfs, OT

The Chargers will take the best offensive tackle on the board with Tristan Wirfs. While they took a QB in the original draft, the top-3 options of the class have all been selected. Wirfs has emerged as one of the best outside tackles in the NFL and has been a franchise cornerstone in Tampa Bay throughout his career. This past season, Wirfs earned the second-highest overall grade among all offensive tackles (92.7).

Pick 7: Carolina Panthers

Original Pick - Derrick Brown, DT

New Pick - Jonathan Taylor, RB

Initially a second-round selection, Jonathan Taylor will move up to the No. 7 slot in the redo. The Wisconsin product wasted little time taking over the Indianapolis backfield as a rookie, scoring in 11 games with 1,169 yards. The following season (2021), Taylor had his best season, scoring 18 rushing touchdowns with 1,811 rushing yards. In 2025, he posted a strong 4.9 YPC and totaled 20 total TDs from scrimmage.

Pick 8: Arizona Cardinals

Original Pick - Isaiah Simmonds, LB

New Pick - Patrick Queen, LB

The Cardinals took a linebacker in the actual 2020 NFL Draft in this spot, but will pivot to Patrick Queen instead. Queen is by far the top linebacker in this class and has been among the game's top tacklers since making his debut. Over his six NFL seasons, Queen has hit the 100-tackle mark in all but one. In 2025, Queen totaled 120 combined tackles with four deflections and one sack.

Pick 9: Jacksonville Jaguars

Original Pick - CJ Henderson, DB

New Pick - Michael Pittman Jr., WR

The Jaguars will bolster their WR room with Michael Pittman Jr. out of USC. Pittman was initially the 34th overall pick by the Colts, but will take sizeable jump in the redo. Pittman has emerged as a reliable pass-catcher in the Indianapolis offense, catching at least 80 passes in all but two of his seasons. In 2023, he caught a season-high 109 passes for 1,152 yards.

Pick 10: Cleveland Browns

Original Pick - Jedrick Wills Jr., OT

New Pick - Jordan Love, QB

The Browns will look to find their franchise QB in Jordan Love with the 10th overall pick. Love spent the first few seasons of his career operating as a backup behind Aaron Rodgers but has since emerged as Green Bay's franchise option. In his first full season as a starter (2023), Love made an immediate impact totaling a career-best 32 passing scores with 4,159 yards.

Pick 11: New York Jets

Original Pick - Mekhi Becton, OT

New Pick - Tee Higgins, WR

The former 33rd overall pick will move up to the No. 11 spot in the redo. The Jets will find an elite deep-play threat in Tee Higgins out of Clemson. Despite sharing the field with Ja'Marr Chase for most of his career, Higgins has been one of the game's top wideouts and one of the best "No. 2" WRs. Over his past two seasons, Higgins has scored double-digit touchdowns and averaged 878.5 yards per season.

Pick 12: Las Vegas Raiders

Original Pick - Henry Ruggs III, WR

New Pick - Antoine Winfield Jr., S

Another second-round pick will move up to the opening round. Winfield was one of the best-value picks in the draft, selected 45th overall by the Buccaneers. The top safety has been a leader of the Tampa Bay secondary, averaging 89.5 tackles per season throughout his career, with 18 total sacks and nine total interceptions. Per PFF, Winfield placed 14th among all safeties in terms of Overall Grade.

Pick 13: San Francisco 49ers

Original Pick - Tristan Wirfs, OT (selected by Buccaneers)

New Pick - D'Andre Swift, RB

D'Andre Swift has been a serviceable RB1 for several teams throughout his NFL career and will add some solid depth to the San Francis room. Swift began his career with the Lions, then moved to Philadelphia before joining the Bears. Since 2023, Swift has eclipsed the 1,000-yard rushing mark in all but one season. He tallied a career-high mark in 2025, with 1,087 yards serving as the RB1 in the Ben Johnson-led Chicago offense.

Pick 14: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Original Pick - Javon Kinlaw, DT (selected by 49ers)

New Pick - Jordyn Brooks, LB

Initially a late first-round pick, Brooks will slide just inside the top half in our redo. Brooks had a quiet rookie season in Seattle, totaling just 57 tackles with zero sacks. However, in 2021 through 2025, Brooks would hit the 100-tackle mark in each season and average an impressive 156.4 tackles per season. Since 2023, he has tallied at least 3.5 sacks in each campaign.

Pick 15: Denver Broncos

Original Pick - Jerry Jeudy, WR

New Pick - Tua Tagovailoa, QB

Initially a top-10 pick, Tua Tagovailoa would tumble down the first round. However, given how important the QB position is in the NFL, he will still be taken just inside the second half by the Denver Broncos. Tagovailoa showed promise in his career once Mike McDaniel took over the head coaching duties in Miami. In 2022 and 2023, he would average 4,086 yards per season with 27.0 scores per season. However, in 2024 and 2025, he would average just 2,765 yards per season with a mere 19.5 passing scores.

Pick 16: Atlanta Falcons

Original Pick - A.J. Terrell, DB

New Pick - Zack Baun, LB

The Falcons will bolster their linebacker room with Zack Baun. Initially a third-round selection, Baun will move up several rounds and be selected with the 16th overall pick. Baun operated in a reserve role over the first four seasons but has since emerged as an elite playmaker in Philadelphia. In 2024 and 2025, Baun averaged an eye-catching 137.0 tackles per season with 3.5 sacks per season.

Pick 17: Dallas Cowboys

Original Pick - CeeDee Lamb, WR

New Pick - Brandon Aiyuk, WR

With the Cowboys unable to select Lamb in this edition, they will instead pivot to another wideout, Brandon Aiyuk. Aiyuk had a slow start to his carer but enjoyed two strong back-to-back seasons in 2022 and 2023. During these seasons, Aiyuk would tally 7.5 scores per season with 1,178.5 yards. However, a torn ACL would cut his 2024 season short and keep him off the field in 2025.

Pick 18: Miami Dolphins

Original Pick - Austin Jackson, OT

New Pick - Derrick Brown, DT

The original seventh overall pick will take a hit in the redo edition. Brown has shown up at times in his NFL career, but has yet to live up to his early-round draft capital. After playing in just one game back in 2024, Brown turned in a strong bounce-back campaign in 2025, logging a career-best 5.0 sacks with 73 tackles. This is the second-highest tackle total of his career, trailing only the 103 he tallied back in 2023.

Pick 19: Las Vegas Raiders

Original Pick - Damon Arnette, DB

New Pick - Xavier McKinney, S

The former second-round selection will join the Raiders in the back half of the opening round. McKinney has been a high-impact player in the secondary throughout his career, splitting time with the Giants and Packers. In his second season in 2021, McKinney turned into a breakout star, tallying five interceptions with 93 tackles. However, in 2024, he would finish with a career-best eight interceptions and an impressive 11 pass deflections.

Pick 20: Jacksonville Jaguars

Original Pick - K'Lavon Chaisson, LB

New Pick - Jeremy Chinn, S

Jeremy Chinn has been one of the best tackling safeties since making his NFL debut with the Panthers in the 2020 NFL season. Over his four seasons in Carolina, Chinn would average 81.0 tackles per season with 53.0 solo tackles. However, in 2024 and 2025, Chinn would take a massive step forward, totaling 115.5 tackles and 1.5 sacks per season. Per PFF, Chinn earned a solid 67.6 Overall Grade in 2025.

Pick 21: Philadelphia Eagles

Original Pick - Jalen Reagor, WR

New Pick - Tyler Biadasz, C

The Eagles made one of the worst selections in the opening round by taking wideout Jalen Reagor, just one pick ahead of Justin Jefferson. However, they will have the opportunity to right that wrong with center Tyler Biadasz. Biadasz was initially a fourth-round selection but will earn a nice boost in this edition. In 2025, Biadasz enjoyed one of the best seasons of his career, earning the 11th-highest grade (Overall Grade) among all centers per PFF.

Pick 22: Minnesota Vikings

Original Pick - Justin Jefferson, WR

New Pick - Andrew Thomas, OT

With nearly all of the top playmakers off the board, the Vikings will instead pivot to strengthening their offensive line in the redo. The initial fourth overall selection will go to the No. 22 spot. While Thomas has not lived up to his high-end draft capital, he's still performed as a solid first-round option and is worthy of a top-25 pick. According to PFF, Thomas was one of the game's top outside tackles in 2025, earning an elite 90.3 Overall Grade, placing him fourth among all tackles.

Pick 23: New England Patriots

Original Pick - Kenneth Murray, LB (selected by Chargers)

New Pick - Alex Highsmith, LB

While the Chargers had this selection in the actual draft, the Patriots will instead hold this pick and select one of the top pass rushers in the class. Alex Highsmith initially joined the Steelers with the 102nd overall pick but will slide into the bottom half of the opening round. Highsmith had a quiet debut season but has totaled at least 6.0 sacks in each of his last five seasons. In 2022, he tallied a career-high 14.5 sacks.

Pick 24: New Orleans Saints

Original Pick - Cesar Ruiz, C

New Pick - Damien Lewis, OG

The Saints will still look to bolster their offensive line, but I will pivot to the top guard on the board, Damien Lewis. Lewis was one of the top third round selections in this class, going 69th overall to the Seattle Seahawks. Lewis has since joined the Panthers and taken a starting role in each of the past two seasons. In 2025, Lewis was an elite pass-blocker posting a dominant 79.3 Grade in that category, the third-highest among all guards.

Pick 25: Minnesota Vikings

Original Pick - Brandon Aiyuk, WR (selected by 49ers)

New Pick - Darnell Mooney, WR

The Vikings initially traded this pick to San Francisco, but will hold it in order to select wideout Darnell Mooney. Mooney was a fifth-round selection in the actual draft but will slide into the final half of the opening round. Mooney had a quiet debut season but would enjoy a breakout campaign in Year 2, tallying 1,055 yards with four touchdowns. Following two more down seasons, he would rebound in 2024, catching five touchdowns with 992 yards.

Pick 26: Miami Dolphins

Original Pick - Jordan Love, QB (selected by Packers)

New Pick - AJ Terrell, DB

The Dolphins will take the top defensive back on the board in AJ Terrell. Terrell is not a "ball-hawk" defensive back, but makes an impact in coverage. In 2025, Terrell tallied 12 pass receptions, the third time in his career that he logged double-digit deflections in a single season. However, PFF graded him slightly below the average marks in terms of defensive backs with a modest 57.7 Overall Grade.

Pick 27: Seattle Seahawks

Original Pick - Jordyn Brooks, LB

New Pick - Kenneth Murray, LB

The former Charger and 23rd overall pick will take a slight dip in the redo and fall to the No. 27 slot. With the Chargers, Murray posted two 100+ tackle campaigns (over four seasons), including one in his rookie season, when he logged 107 tackles with 68 of them being solo. In 2024, Murray would log a season-best 3.5 sacks with the Titans but would have a down season in 2025 with the Cowboys, logging just 81 tackles.

Pick 28: Baltimore Ravens

Original Pick - Patrick Queen, LB

New Pick - Nnamdi Madubuike, DT

The Ravens selected Madubuike in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft, but will opt to select him with the No. 28 pick in the opening round. Madubuike had a lower start to his career but has since emerged as a real option on the defensive line. Since 2023, Madubuike has logged 6.5 sacks in two of his three season and a high of 13.0 back in 2023. Per PFF, he earned an above-average 73.5 Overall Grade.

Pick 29: Tennessee Titans

Original Pick - Isaiah Wilson, DB

New Pick - Chase Young, DE

The former No. 2 overall pick will fall to the No. 29 slot in the redo. Young immediately made an impact in D.C. as a rookie, logging 7.5 sacks with 44 tackles. However, after battling a string of injuries, he began to show some promise in 2025 with the New Orleans Saints. With the Saints, Young would log 10.0 sacks this past season with 38 tackles, the second-most of his career.

Pick 30: Green Bay Packers

Original Pick - Noah Igbinoghene, DB (selected by Dolphins)

New Pick - Jerry Jeudy, WR

The initial No. 15 overall pick will take a hit and fall to the final slots in the opening round. While Jeudy has shown upside at times, he has struggled to turn in consistent performances. The former Alabama standout totaled 856 yards with three scores as a rookie, but would only match that total in two of the seasons. His best performance came in 2024, when he tallied 1,229 yards while serving as the No. 1 option in Cleveland.

Pick 31: San Francisco 49ers

Original Pick - Jeff Gladney, DB (selected by Vikings)

New Pick - Jonah Jackson, OG

The former third-round selection will join the 49ers at the No. 31 slot. Jackson began his NFL career with the Lions but has since played for the Rams and, most recently, the Bears. With the Bears in 2025, Jackson turned in a strong season, potentially the best of his career. According to PFF, Jackson placed 19th among all guards in Overall Grade and 15th in terms of Run-Blocking Grade.

Pick 32: Kansas City Chiefs

Original Pick - Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB

New Pick - Kevin Dotson, OG

The Chiefs will conclude the draft with a former Day 3 selection, Kevin Dotson. Dotson began his career with the Steelers but has since found a home in Los Angeles, playing a full-time role with the Rams. In 2025, Doston had a dominant season, earning the third-highest Overall Grade among guards according to PFF (86.4).
