Injury Status: Injured Reserve
Injury: Foot
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (foot) has started running and hopes to return following the team's Week 9 bye, according to Ashley Wenskoski of Pittsburgh Sports Tonight. Pittman explained that his injury initially began as plantar fasciitis before developing into a different foot issue, although he did not specify the exact diagnosis. He also said surgery was never under consideration. The 29-year-old has been on injured reserve since October 10 and is eligible to return against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 10 on November 15. Pittman caught just seven of 12 targets for 89 yards in three appearances before landing on IR. Rookie Germie Bernard has taken on a larger role during his absence, recording 32 receptions for 284 yards and a touchdown. Pittman's progress is encouraging, but his limited early-season production and Bernard's emergence leave questions about his fantasy value whenever he returns.

Michael Pittman Jr. 2026 Fantasy Football Outlook: Fair To Expect Another Underwhelming Season Despite Team Change

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. had 80 receptions on 111 targets for 784 yards and seven touchdowns in 2025. It was a new career high in touchdowns for Pittman, but it was his lowest yardage total since his rookie season in 2020. A prominent piece in the Colts' surprisingly dynamic offense during the first half of the season, Pittman's production fell off a cliff after his only 100-yard performance of the season in Week 9. From Week 10 on, Pittman averaged 27.9 receiving yards and 3.54 PPR points per game. Now playing opposite DK Metcalf in Pittsburgh, Pittman is no longer the default WR1 on his team, and his streak of five consecutive 100-target seasons may be at its end. On the bright side, Pittman's quarterback situation is the best it's ever been, as future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers is returning for another year with the Steelers. Even if their complementary playstyles benefit Pittman's volume, his inconsistent returns in favorable conditions over the years make it hard to believe that 2026 will be much different. Pittman is RotoBaller's WR42 in its current rankings.less...
