XFL DFS Value Plays: Week 10 Bargain Bin for DraftKings Including Jack Coan, Devin Darrington, Sal Cannella, More

Juan's top XFL DFS value plays for Week 10 of the 2023 season. These sleepers are cheap on DraftKings daily fantasy football contests.

Welcome to the Week 10 edition of RotoBaller's XFL DFS Bargain Bin, where the goal is to touch on some potentially mispriced players in DraftKings' Week 10 XFL contests. Each week during the XFL 2023 season and postseason, I’ll give you my thoughts on where there may be some value spots to exploit for DraftKings' wide array of tournaments and cash games. After you're done here, be sure to also read all our other weekly XFL fantasy football articles.

We've arrived at the final week of the regular season, and with plenty of teams still in the hunt for a postseason spot, there should be no shortage of hard-fought battles this weekend. As customary, we'll break down multiple cost-saving options at each position to consider for your DraftKings lineups.

DraftKings' XFL DFS rosters largely mirror that of NFL contests, with a notable exception – there is no TE-specific spot, but rather two WR/TE spots and two additional Flex spots that can be filled with a running back, wide receiver, or tight end.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

XFL DFS Bargain Bin Intro

Before we go XFL DFS Bargain Bin hunting, a few particulars about format and content.

The nature of the beast with value plays is at least a modest amount (and sometimes substantially more) of risk. Therefore, the Bargain Bin may prove to be a bit more of a rollercoaster ride on some slates than your typical “tout” article! Naturally, that doesn’t mean there isn’t an upside to be had. All of these selections are therefore suitable for GPPs and can also often serve as solid cash game plays, while often helping you accommodate multiple higher-priced studs into your lineup.

This article is by no means intended to serve as an exhaustive list of all value options for the week. Rather, it’s meant to take a deeper dive into those I feel offer some of the best combinations of savings and upside.

The goal is to recommend truly affordable players, as opposed to, say, a player priced just $300-$400 away from the highest-priced option at his position. I don’t have set-in-stone price limits in mind for each site, but I do consider legitimate affordability a very important criterion.

XFL Quarterback DFS Value Plays

Jack Coan, SAN vs. DC | $8,200

Coan came out of nowhere a week ago with his best performance of the season, throwing for 302 yards and a touchdown on his way to 19.7 DK points. It all seemed to come together for the Notre Dame product against a vulnerable Guardians secondary, as he connected with eight different targets and remained mistake-free.

Coan now draws an even more appealing matchup in Week 10 against a Defenders team that's allowed 262.2 passing yards per contest, the most in the XFL. The quarterback's particularly impressive Week 9 connection with the versatile, speedy Nick Holley is particularly eye-catching considering D.C.'s penchant for giving up big plays through the air and could certainly help Coan overdeliver on his still-modest salary.

ALSO CONSIDER: Luis Perez, ARL vs. HOU | $8,600

XFL Running Back DFS Value Plays

Devin Darrington, ORL at STL | $5,700

Darrington went off for a season-high 23.4 DK points in Week 9, rushing for 133 yards on 16 carries as he filled a lead-back role with Jah-Maine Martin inactive. However, it wasn't the highly efficient Darrington's first tally of more than 20 DK points, as he'd also generated 22.5 in Week 6 against the Sea Dragons in Week 6.

Given his Week 9 performance, it's likely a safe bet Darrington is helming the backfield again versus the Battlehawks irrespective of Martin's availability. If that's indeed the case, the Virginia product could be poised to blow past his salary once again, considering St. Louis is allowing an XFL-high 131 rushing yards per contest.

Leddie Brown, ARL vs. HOU | $4,900

Brown's ascension continued in Week 9 despite the fact he was up against a very stingy run defense, with the West Virginia alum tallying a season-high 16 DK points on the strength of 100 total yards. Brown still ceded the lead-back role to De'Veon Smith, but he carried a solid eight times for 31 yards and really did his damage as a receiver with six receptions for 69 yards.

Brown now faces a Roughnecks team that could well be cycling through plenty of reserves as the game unfolds, considering Houston not only has the South Division locked up, but would be in line to face the Renegades in the first round of the postseason the following weekend if Arlington gets into the playoffs. Additionally, Smith missed practice Thursday with an ankle injury, and the possibility he's either limited or out altogether naturally boosts Brown's stock even further.

ALSO CONSIDER: John Lovett, VGS at SEA | $5,200

XFL Wide Receiver DFS Value Plays

Marcell Ateman, STL vs. ORL | $4,800

Ateman put together his most productive game of the season yet in Week 9, logging a season-high seven receptions, 99 yards and 11 targets. The effort netted 16.9 DK points, and it came on the heels of a solid 10.7 DK-point tally versus the Vipers in Week 8. Ateman now looks to build on the momentum during a must-win game for the Battlehawks against a vulnerable secondary.

The Guardians just gave up a 300-yard performance to what had been a lackluster Brahmas passing game in Week 9. Orlando is now allowing the second-most passing yards per game (223.6), and Ateman has drawn at least five targets in four of the six games he's suited up for thus far. The big-bodied wideout's salary remains very modest for his upside, keeping him firmly in play.

Tyler Vaughns, ARL vs. HOU | $4,500

Vaughns' salary remains the same as last week, when he came through as a bargain suggestion in this space by putting up 14.3 DK points on the strength of a 6-63 line and a two-point conversion catch. It was the extension of a positive stretch for Vaughns, one that had also seen him record seven receptions for 77 yards in the prior two contests as well.

Vaughns now faces a Roughnecks defense, that, as mentioned in Brown's entry, could be resting or limiting the playing time of some of its starters ahead of the postseason. Given the rapport he demonstrated with new quarterback Luis Perez in Week 9 and his solid week-to-week role, Vaughns is right back in play at his value salary.

Nick Holley, SAN vs. DC | $3,900

Holley was quite the revelation in Week 9, producing 17.5 DK points on the strength of a 4-105 line. A running back that possesses elite pass-catching skills, Holley notably didn't log any carries behind lead back Jacques Patrick in his Brahmas debut in Week 9, but he could potentially be worked into the running game some in the regular-season finale.

However, where Holley could really thrive is as a receiver, as the Defenders, as mentioned previously, have proven the league's most generous pass defense. The Kent State product, who opened the season with the Roughnecks, may certainly be able to break off a chunk play or two against D.C. in a key game for the Brahmas, putting him in play at his very reasonable salary.

ALSO CONSIDER: Josh Hammond, DC at SAN | $6,500

XFL Flex DFS Value Plays

Juwan Green, WR - SEA vs. VGS | $6,800

Green wasn't able to follow up his stellar 7-142-2 line in Week 8 very effectively, as he only recorded two receptions for 30 yards in Week 9 against the Battlehawks. However, that wasn't exactly the fault of the speedy Albany product, as he had a perfect catch rate and Seattle was up against a stingy St. Louis secondary.

Green's salary remains somewhat elevated, but the matchup is much more palatable in Week 10. The Vipers have surrendered the third-most passing yards per game (207.3), and given the game should shape up as a must-win scenario for Seattle, Green should have a solid chance to benefit from what should once again be an aggressive approach from the Sea Dragons.

Sal Cannella, TE - ARL vs. HOU | $6,400

As expected, Cannella bounced back in a noteworthy way from what had been his first blanking of the season in Week 8. The talented tight end was the subject of plenty of quarterback Luis Perez's attention, posting a season-best 7-92 line on 10 targets. The effort netted an impressive 16.2 DK points, also a season-high figure.

We'll bank on the Auburn product once again enjoying a significant role in Week 10, considering both the importance of the game for the Renegades and the fact they'll likely have a crack at a Roughnecks defense playing at less than full throttle for reasons described previously. With an average of 10.2 DK points per contest on the season and a clear chemistry with Perez, Cannella certainly seems worth the investment.

ALSO CONSIDER: Gary Jennings, WR - STL vs. ORL | $3,800
