According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the Cleveland Cavaliers acquired guard Dennis Schroder from the Sacramento Kings in exchange for forward De'Andre Hunter, with Keon Ellis also included in the deal. Cleveland has been searching for backcourt stability with Darius Garland (toe) battling injuries, giving Schroder a path to early minutes. The thirty-two-year-old averaged 12.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 5.3 assists in 26.4 minutes with Sacramento, though his role fluctuated. Schroder could handle short-term playmaking duties, but a crowded rotation featuring Donovan Mitchell, Jaylon Tyson, and Sam Merrill caps his ceiling, keeping him more useful as a deep-league assist streamer.--Brian Dailisan
